Really glad you guys started streaming again despite it not doing as well as you hoped! And MM is one hell of a game to kick it back off with. I hope you guys continue, I think your numbers will grow over time and Felix has great streamer personality

@Vexx234 Every Metroid game has the same save system. A quick save option would certainly be nice but I feel like save points are pretty generous. Just make sure you have at least 20+ minutes on hand for your play sessions.

@Jayenkai I think the old one is ugly. Plus I hate it when there is no title in the thumbnail. Shouldn’t have to hover over a game to see what it is…

@Jacket_p: I for one would have been really sad if someone didn’t step up and do some kind of tournament revival. Sometime you get good things for doing good things. However he has stated this is to help raise money for VGBC who got ****** in this situation. I’m not going to bash anybody for doing positive things, and it rubs me the wrong way when I see other people bashing people for doing said things. I guess you would prefer no tournament or a complete fascist takeover by Panda?

@russellohh: And what about adults with families to support making at or close to minimum wage, living paycheck to paycheck? Going by the numbers, that is not a niche group of people. Yeah these price hikes don’t affect you, me, or anyone you mentioned who can “save up” for a day and buy a console. But that’s not everyone dude.

@TheCrabMan that takes a lot of time and skill. But I think you can see pretty much see everything the game has to offer long before then. That being said I have hundreds of hours played both on switch and PC. It’s super addicting

Always so many negative comments on Nintendo life when it comes to speed running, challenges, and just gaming at a professional level in general. I don’t get it. I would think people would like seeing these games pushed to their absolute limits

@RubyCarbuncle He’s doing what he likes doing. Should people not do what they like doing if there is any risk of injury?

@Takoda: The carnival music is bad both new and old. But I personally love the new music for the ice cap and launch zone.

At first I was totally bummed to hear about the changed music. But it turns out, the music that is in the anniversary collection are the very tunes I’m nostalgic for since I grew up playing the PC port. Phew… I thought this was going to be another Super Meat Boy situation lol

@Darkyoshi98 I take it you don’t watch too many speed runs. Glitching is very much a part of speedrunning and in most cases, makes the run more interesting and difficult to pull off.

@AlexSora89: Idiot comment of the year. Melee and Ultimate are vastly different games. What right do you have to force people into playing one or the other?

@Giran0 Lucina is just different enough from Marth to make sense as a character. I agree with you on Daisy, echo fighters shouldn’t be a simple skin change like Daisy is for Peach.

People need to realize that the “Pikmin 4” announcement was a mistranslation. I’m 99% sure Miyamoto was referring to “Hey You Pikmin”. Back when he was saying how the next pikmin was nearly finished. Sadly I don’t think Pikmin 4 was ever a thing before but may be in development now.

@Yorumi: It almost sounds like we are looking for different things in our reviews, we could go back and forth on this all day.

His reasons for not liking it seemed valid and not just personal. You should never give a game a 5 or 6 if you had 0 fun with it. Regardless of how good it looks and how much effort was put in. At the end of the day, we play these for fun right?

Side note: I get that some reviewers aren’t meant to review some games. I should never review a serious sports game since I hate them. The reviewer in this case was part of the target audience from what I gather so he’s completely entitled to his opinion of the game.

@Yorumi: I whole heartedly disagree. I for one want a reviewers most honest opinion of the game. I don’t want their opinion jaded in any way by other opinions. That way I can take an “average” of all those opinions for a definitive score. This reviewer clearly did not enjoy playing as much as the people who gave it a 5 - 7 (Opinions are always going to defer). This is why you never base your purchase on one single review.

If he had scored it a 1/10 I’d be right there with you yelling at him. 3 may be slightly harsh but I’m sure someone else over scored it a little. Relax man

NL keep reviewing the way you are and never feel pressured to give a higher/lower score than what you believe, just to try and align with norms.

@sanderev: Props for actually showing me your entire review score table. It’s seems very technical though... reviews should be based more on enjoyment and how much you get out of the experience. All those things are important too and should help the score but not be the determining factor.

@Yorumi: my last reply on this subject. If I reviewed video games and thought a game deserves a 3, but changed it to a 5 or 6 because other people were rating it higher. That would make me a bad reviewer...

@Yorumi: the review for this game reads just like NLs description in the scoring policy.... what exactly is unethical about this? lol

I’m all for people playing the game the way they want too. I become less ok with it once it starts affecting me and others like me who want to play legit.

Mimomamimima: Doesn’t have to be a competitive game for it to be ruined by cheaters. Dupers are inflating the economy all the while Time Travelers have all but eliminated our interest rate.

For example. Someone will work hard for 1 million bells while a duper swipes the item he was trying to trade for with his 2 million he earned in 10 minutes. Tell me how “harmless” cheating is in this non competitive game.

@WCB: You will only run into that problem with a few rare games. After playing the physical copy of Runner 3, I decided to grab it digitally on sale for convenience purposes. Turns out, it registers the digital and physical versions as separate games due to having different publishers.

Obviously not a problem in AC but now I have 2 Runner 3 games and the save data is not synced :/

Ugh any game can be a competition. If you can beat a game faster than anyone in the world, I think you have the right to call yourself the best at that game.

@Euler: You are not wrong. And I’m not saying Nintendo needs to dish out millions to these players but I feel in this case a little would go a long way in growing the scene. I mean let’s face it, Esports is growing and it will continue to do so. Its a complete missed opportunity by Nintendo to not throw at least a little bit of cash into that growing cash cow especially with their flag ship Esports game ( I get it, they don’t like Esports but they didn’t like phones at first either!)

Think of it as like investing in Amazon back in the late 90s, early 2000s. Maybe it’s not THAT extreme but you see where I’m going with it lol

All this shade on HBox... makes no sense to me. Clearly there isn’t much love for eSports here which is pretty shocking TBH. But he’s not selfish, He even said “Nintendo, support the scene I even if it’s just for ULTIMATE”. HBox isn’t good enough at ultimate to place in tournaments. He just wants the scene to grow and it’s a smart move by Nintendo.

To those that are against I ask them this, “Should all games, sports, or any game played for money be strictly crowdfunded? If I can get paid millions a year for throwing or kicking a ball well, what’s the difference with Smash. I find competitive Smash FAR more engaging.

@CoastersPaul I remember when Sakurai said Brawl was the last Smash or at least the last one he would work on. I believed him at the time. Now I’m not buying a word of it lol

@Snivy: Also very true and well put. I do think however putting a little money (Nintendo has plenty) into the tournament pots could drum up even more interest than there is and ultimately grow the Smash fan base even more than it is.

@LUIGITORNADO: How about no. I have a job but that doesn’t mean every other person needs to be just like me. I’d rather these pro smash players continue to practice and get better so when I watch the tournament it’s as glorious and epic because it’s built on tens of thousands of hours of practice! Don’t tell them to get a job! By doing so you are killing my entertainment and the ability to see my favorite game played at the top level. How come people don’t realize this?
