As spotted by an eagle-eyed Redditor, the MegaCrit Twitter account has edited their bio to add the message "Working on our next game!" It's hardly surprising, given that Slay The Spire came out in early access in 2017, and then as an official release in 2019, but it's always nice to get confirmation.
Before now, the most information we had on MegaCrit's next output was that it wouldn't be Slay The Spire-related, and that they were "working on things", including a not-yet-released Slay The Spire board game. We still don't know much more, except that it's definitely a game.
So, what do we think? Slay The Spire sequel, or something totally new with all that delicious Slay The Spire profit? Or will you play it whatever it is? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!

The sequel will be a Christmas themed spin-off:
Sleigh the Spire, where you play as Santa Claus on a quest to deliver the most presents in an ever-changing North Pole
Slay the Spire is great, it's only real flaw honestly is that I just want more. More enemies, more events, more cards, more everything. It's replayable as hell sure, but it doesn't take all that long to see everything.
Subtitle of the year.
I really wouldn't mind seeing the Ironclad, The Silent, and The Defect showing up as characters in a new non-spire related game. I'm oddly attached to those characters despite them not having any real personality to speak of.
... We've just been through so much together at this point.
OH YEAH BABY!!!!!! GREAT DEVELOPER!!!
@TheCrabMan that takes a lot of time and skill. But I think you can see pretty much see everything the game has to offer long before then. That being said I have hundreds of hours played both on switch and PC. Itβs super addicting
One of my biggest & greatest out-of-comfort zone gaming experiences.
I was introduced to Slay the Spire on my last day subscribing to PS Now many months back. Iβve never been one for deck-building card games at all whatsoever, but this game instantly hooked me!
Ended up buying it on sale on Switch and put about 200 hours into it until the added difficulty challenges became a bit much for me. It also has long runs as a rogue-like since thereβs some careful strategy and math to be done each twist & turn. Great game overall. Would love a sequel.
Sidenote: Due to the aforementioned, Iβd also love for Inscryption to come to Switch to try!
β¦ Wun can only hope!
I really wonder why they haven't expanded the game with DLC besides the fourth character. Would have loved more support since the game is BRUTALLY hard, and the only reason I dialed back how much I played was because of Dicey Dungeons.
Thank you God! My favorite game in10 years....by far!
This game is the perfection! I need just one achievement to 100% (Win only using one relic).
@Rykdrew Wow!! I'm honestly impressed. I'm at about 90.1%, and still feel like I have a long ways to go.
I honestly hope it's something entirely new, despite loving StS like everyone else. I just prefer devs trying new things, though I wouldn't be surprised if they do an StS2 before expanding their repertoire.
