@samuelvictor There's a controller that comes in the box that's made for multiplayer in it's tabletop form. But when it's attached to a TV, you can use the controller as player 1 rather than player 2. The controllers are white versions of the NeoGeo CD pads. But as I mentioned above, the buttons are not in the right place.
@Godzil That purely depends on who's manufacturing it. So far we have no idea, but the worrying thing is that there's a Chinese company that owns SNK, and it's very likely that they'll be the one manufacturing this. Thing is I've seen used any products from Leyou Industries, so at this point it's all up in the air. It'll depend on reviewers to voice an opinion to say if it's good or not.
Nice, but to anyone who has ever used a NeoGeo joystick set up with a 2X2 button layout rather than the 4 buttons in a row. The buttons are in the wrong place, they've been turned 90 degree clockwise for some weird reason. Same with the controller too. This is going to annoy NeoGeo gamers big time!
I have so many copies of Ikaruga, it's silly. Though having a portable version would be amazing. But still, I have too many ports of the damn game! lol!
@Bondi_Surfer Scramble is released on the PS4 through the Arcade Archive series, so there's a chance it'll be released on the Switch. But there's going to be a legal wall to get over to get the licence agreements to release games onto another system. So no real idea when it'll happen. But having Scramble on the Switch would be awesome!
@FinalFrog Well, Pleiades and Phoenix MIGHT have a chance to appear on Arcade achieve as they were published in Japan. Taito published Phoenix, and Tehkan (Now Tecmo) published Pleiades in Japan.
As for Gorf, it never got a Japanese release, not to mention that the game is VERY trademark infringing! lol!
@slider271 Well, I would imagine that would play it by imagining that the A, B, X, and Y buttons are a substitute right joystick. So you'll be alternating between Up and B, and Down and X a lot in order to climb.
@slider271 I haven't played the original arcade game before. But I did see this in a review in Nintendo Magazine System for Nichibutsu Arcade Classics for the Super Famicom. I kept looking at the screen shots wondering how you actually play the game. I had no idea that the original game had two joysticks when I found out more about the game about 6 years ago when I saw a video about the game on Youtube and found out about how it used a joystick for each hand.
@Lroy Windjammers will be tricky as Dotemu has the agreement for that game. Hasmter can't port Windjammers onto their ACA NeoGeo series. So the only way that would happen is if DotEmu ports the game to the Switch, but seeing as WindJammers is exclusive to the PS4, the only way it would happen is if there's a time frame in the agreement that would allow DotEmu to port to game to other systems.
@Winklebottom The artwork you see there was used on one of the American cabaret machines for its joystick panel. There's many-many different pieces of artwork for the game all done by different artists. I like the one that looks like it came from a 50's pop-art/comic book. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/70/37/bf/7037bf69fb90693b56f1724323efd8e0.jpg
@Lroy All of them are going to be tricky. Not to mention that people aren't going to download every game either. Like, how many people really want to play the bad NeoGeo games like Super Spy, Cyber Lip and Ragnagard. Yes, there's a few bad NeoGeo games out there!
@Lroy I got the star from writing the review for Flip Wars.
As for Nightmare in the Park, there might be a chance as it's a NeoGeo title. We'll have more of a chance of seeing this than Hamster releasing a western arcade game.
@NandN3ds Speaking of American and European arcade games. I'm not too sure if Hamster would be interested to release them. Here's hoping that someone like Digital Eclipse can make agreements with Western arcade companies to release games like QBert, Joust and Marble Madness to modern consoles.
@NandN3ds Hamster is releasing a bunch of Japanese arcade games on the PS4 and Switch. There's more games on the PS4 at the moment, mainly due to the PS4 coming out before the Switch, and that Hamster needs to get separate licencing agreements to release each game on each format. Seeing as Hamster has shaken hands with Irem, R-Type will soon be coming to the PS4 and Switch.
Early 80s games though, the PS4 has (From Hamster's Arcade Archive) Moon Creasta, Exerion, Karate Champ (I hope this comes out on the Switch!), Mr. Goemon, and Front Line.
@Tandy255 Devs don't hate sales per-say. In fact, Team Meat makes a lot of money when Super Meat Boy goes on offer on Steam. What devs wont like is a game that permanently goes down in price.
I got this one, and it's a great game. But it's unfair, but that's what makes it a challenge. I can't get past the second level, but it took me a while to get past the first. I'll admit though, this'll be a game that you'll like or really dislike. It's a very marmite-like game.
@Bunkerneath Well, the Ouya library has been moved to the Razer Forge TV. I remember receiving an email from Razer to get a discount on one as I owned an Ouya. But in the end I didn't get one, I wasn't going to buy another machine to play the same exact games on. Besides, Razer had issues paying the ex-Ouya devs after the buy-out anyway, so it wasn't all happy ever after when Razer bought the company.
Speaking of the Ouya though, I always felt like I was the one who only got a kick out of it playing Chess 2 online and doing random things in Amazing Frog?
Thing is, there's Steam ports of both of those games. I guess that's that happens when you don't pay the devs that release games on your system.
That's a little random! lol! I suppose seeing as the Ouya is no more, manufacturers can, technically, steal the design of sorts.
I wonder if the colour plate on that controller are replaceable like the Ouya controller did? You might be able to change the colours to match your Joycon set up.
Interesting... Looks like a higher res version of Bump 'n' Jump, which amazingly played much better on the Atari 2600 than the original arcade game. The Arcade game is the most unforgiving game ever!
@MeloMan Seeing as Hamster is a Japanese developer, I'm not too sure if Japan got QBert on an arcade cabinet. I've seen Famicom and Super Famicom QBert games, but I don't think Gottlieb managed to get their arcade games into Japan.
Plus, if you need to know, this is a throw back to isometric platformers that were huge in the MicroComputer era that Rare, or Ultimate Play the Game as they were called back then, created KnightLore, the first Isometric Platformer on the ZX Spectrum. Since then, the Speccy, C64, and Amstrad would receive a bunch of Isometric Platformers such as Head over Heels, Chimera, 3D Ant Attack, and Batman! Yes, Batman had a Isometric Plaformer too. A few more would be made for the Mega Drive and SNES before the Playstation, Saturn, and N64 came in, introducing 3D platformers that made the Isometric plaformers of old obsolete.
You get to the present day where retro gaming is pretty big, where newer games have retro influences, and you receive a brand new Isometric Platformer by the name of Lumo!
I would totally get this game. I got it on Steam, and I love the game! Thing is, I'm sick of these high priced Switch games, especially when I already own it on another system that I got it at a cheaper price. I'll just wait until there's a sale for this one!

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Special Edition Controller And Game Bundle Revealed
Err... I do like that Pro Controller. But why sell it for SSBU when Nintendo is going to sell the GameCube controller adapter, again.
Who's going to get this, unless Nintendo is planning to dupe customers by releasing the GCN controller adapter for a limited time again.
Re: ESRB Rating Reveals Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Is Switch-Bound

Twisted Dreams was originally released on the PC through Steam and GOG. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giana_Sisters:_Twisted_Dreams
Re: Ninjin: Clash of Carrots Brings Chaotic Side-Scrolling Action To Switch This September
Hmm...
So it's Ganbare Goemon, if it was a shmup. Interesting...
I hope it gets released with a 4 player mode though...
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 21st)
For me it's switching between Sonic Mania Plus and Sky Skipper.
Re: Hamster's Neo Geo Hot Streak On The Switch eShop Continues With Six New Confirmed Games
@cyrus_zuo Hey, I just watched a video on Crossed Swords. I've never seen this arcade game before; it looks like Punch out, but with a Medieval theme.
Re: Hamster's Neo Geo Hot Streak On The Switch eShop Continues With Six New Confirmed Games
Prehistoric Isle 2!
Get in!!!
Re: Nintendo Download: 19th July (Europe)
I would go with Sky Skipper, even though it's not up yet. I'm guessing it'll be a Friday release like what happened with Donkey Kong.
Re: Gallery: Sonic Mania Plus Is The Version Of Sonic Mania You've Always Wanted
Hmm...
Makes me wish there was a, Sonic Blue, pair of Joycons for the physical release of this game!

Re: Super Sidekicks 2 And Terra Cresta To Continue Switch Arcade Action Next Week
Hmm... Terra Cresta.
I'd rather have Moon Cresta over Terra Cresta.

I will be playing Moon Patrol, Sol Divide, and Vostok Inc.

I'm slowly getting through Axiom Verge. I got the Multiverse edition on launch day! Makes me regret not getting into it when I got it on Steam.

@Jayenkai Did you move your games to the Razer Forge TV?
Re: Random: The Ouya Pad Lives On As A Knock-Off Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
@Robotron2084 I highly doubt that Fayju has updated the Ouya version. But they've been working on the Steam version slowly.
Re: Random: The Ouya Pad Lives On As A Knock-Off Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
@Robotron2084 Get the Steam edition of the game! Fayju, the dev team, are going to release a major update that makes the game look super pretty!
