Excellent, that's exactly what I was waiting for before committing. Something to look forward to after work on Friday.

@Old-Red nice story and reminds me of me and my PS Vita which is still with me and still gets played. The Switch, Vita, N64 and GameCube are the only consoles I've ever been 'attached' to like that. We can take so much refuge in them during tough times that they really can take on more importance than perhaps an games console should!

I was happily playing my Wii U until the middle of 2023 so I won't be saying goodbye to my Switch for a good while yet! Plenty of life left in the old girl.

I enjoyed it - 7 or maybe an 8 out of 10 if you are a big Star Wars fan. Gets a lot of underserved hate due to the bandwagon of Ubisoft hating (and gamers like a bandwagon more than just about any other demographic).

I can see how it wouldn't be for everyone - it isn't a GOTY contender, but there's plenty of 7 out of 10 games released every week that don't get the hate that this one did.

@Chimichanga what a remarkably juvenile comment. I really think I've outgrown the internet when I see it's full of people like you.

Anyway, decent game. Definitely worth a play if you like the Ubisoft formula and more so if you're a Star Wars fan.

This is the first series I've been able to progress through at the cinema with my son as they release so holds a special place in my heart. They aren't clever but they are entertaining! Good enough for me. I'll watch Schindler's List or something when I want something with gravitas!

@nessisonett Lara Croft has never been 'buff', more just very athletic. She can get to that easily.

She certainly looks the part, and after watching Joan (good series) I think she's a good enough actor to turn her hand to something different. Definitely willing to give this the benefit of the doubt.

There's never been a game I wanted to like more than Disco Elysium but I just didn't get it. Played 2 or 3 hours and had to give up. Maybe I'll try again someday but it was just so boring.....

I loved the first one but there's no denying that it can be brutal, unfair and frustrating. Not sure I can subject myself to more of the same.

@Ulysses yes, after reading up on it, it seems as though this has happened overnight. Website existed yesterday, and today it doesn't, and the magazine is no more. No farewell issue, even. Shocking behaviour from the money men but exactly what you'd expect.

Was just about to subscribe to the digital edition (they don't ship to the UK). Issue 368 is available to download it seems.

Almost all the magazines gone now. Used to absolutely love getting magazines. Probably as much as getting the games themselves. Over here in the UK, I believe there is now Edge magazine, PC Gamer and Play (and Retro gamer). A far cry from the golden days in the late 90s.

It still amazes me that my local WHSmith can stock 7 or 8 caravan magazines but it's gaming magazines that are dying.

At least Switch Player has started up again from Ninty Media.

@DioBrando I'm in no way 'throwing hate' and that is incredibly thin skinned if you saw my comment that way. You said the UK seemed a 'crazy place'. I responded saying that the US seemed such to me (and gave reasons why) and it's funny how one's circumstances affect their outlook. Have a good one.

@DioBrando it's funny how people's circumstances change perceptions. You say the UK seems like a funny place to you, but to me, the US seems absolutely mental. You can pop out to a meal, to the cinema, to the local shop, and have no idea who is carrying a gun around. And the idea of sending my children to school in a country that has had more than 400 school shootings in the last 30 years would just absolutely terrify me. I literally couldn't do it. The UK seems to have this one correct compared to the US, though this particular story is a really weird one.

On paper, this seems ludicrous but there is clearly more to it. The way the police officer phrased his statement suggests he wasn't just fidgeting with it in his pocket. Need more info.

It's like a dog walking on its hind legs: it isn't done particularly well, but it's impressive that it's being done at all.

Completed it back on PSOne and it never occured to me back at that age that it was difficult. Bit of a rude awakening when I went back to it for the remake.

I loved the first game at the time. Tons of character and a great world they created. Not sure how well it has aged though.

When I played Starfield on release on my Series X then the main impact it had on me was to go back and play the Outer Worlds again, which is just so much more enjoyable a sci fi Skyrim/Fallout type thing. If the Switch port is a good one then I'll be grabbing that for another run through. And Civ 6 for a couple of quid is a no brainer.

I'm also a sucker for a snooker/pool game (going back to the original Jimmy White's Cue ball) so I'm going to grab Pure Pool for under a fiver.

This is a great series (I played some on my beloved and still used PS vita!) but my god are they long. Too long really, which is, for me at least, an issue with so many modern JRPGs. 90-100 hours for a fairly standard run through the story is a hell of a time investment.

I liked Cavill but certainly prepared to give Hemsworth a shot. He certainly looks the part in that teaser. And I know we aren't allowed to like the show anymore but I actually enjoyed all three series. Oops.

Christ, everyone is so salty these days. It's a decent show - some of you take things waaaay too seriously. Like its existence is a personal insult. I guess it's an internet thing.

8 is probably the best game but great memories of 64 and Double Dash. Also loved playing Super Circuit on my GBA. The second Sonic Racing game is a fantastic kart racer that I think is as good as any Mario Kart. Crash racing underrated as well.

Damn, the hours I spent in my local Game back in my yoof were great. Even worked there for a while. But it's just depressing now. It's basically a toy shop these days. My aforementioned local one always had three aisles and it used to be an aisle each for the three main players. Now it's two aisles of expensive toys and all the games crammed into one. We all know its days are numbered and have been for a while.

Plus, zero hour contracts are morally outrageous. They should be illegal. Shame on the people who use them in their companies.

Played it on the Xbox and it's a fantastic game. If the Switch is up to it then if you haven't already played it you should check it out.

Mario and Sonic are almost inarguably the two most 'iconic' videogame characters. Link, Solid Snake, Master Chief, Pikachu, Lara Croft, Samus, Crash Bandicoot, Pacman, Kirby, Cloud amongst others that I've almost certainly forgotten. I'd say Geralt should probably be in there as well.

Hmm, I've only had the Switch since last summer (I was still happily on the Wii U until then!) but I've not noticed them being a problem....

One game taking the top 3 spots is a bit daft - maybe a Nintendo thing as it's a snes classic? It's a good game but the PSOne trilogy, 10 and 12 I prefer personally. 8 is so underrated. I don't understand why the story is dismissed so readily in this article - it has a great story.

@dr-gorgo Sony lack 'customer focus' or however you want to put it every bit as much as Nintendo, in different ways. They're all huge businesses, none of them care about their customers beyond how they can get money out of us.

I grabbed the expansion pack for £25 for a year from CDKeys. Literally a couple of quid a month. Pretty much pocket change. Had all the old consoles but don't have space for all of them really and they look awful on modern TVs. I know there are workarounds but I haven't really got the time or inclination for that. I love this service. It's turned my Switch into an absolute gaming behemoth. More games than I could ever play at the touch of a button.

Certainly worth it for me. If the GameCube turns up then even better....
