Re: Bethesda Might Have More Surprises For Nintendo Switch Owners In The Future

Ryzaerian

Blades was fun for a minute on Android, but unless they revamp the in-game purchase system, it won't survive the Switch.

You constantly collect treasure chests, which can only be opened using gems, or by going through inexplicably long timers. And you can only open one chest at a time.

You get a tiny amount of gems from playing the game. They're the cash generator for the devs.

To give you an idea, after playing for two or three days, I had over one hundred hours worth of unopened chests.

The gameplay is decent, but the greed is gamebreaking.

@GothicZM @Frenean

It’s a comparison between apples and oranges. One is Sci-fi 3PS MMO, and the other is a platform brawler. I enjoy both.

Having said that, I am a little surprised that I still play a lot more Warframe than I do Smash. I was expecting it to be 50/50, but it’s more like 75/25 in Warframe’s favor.

Don’t get me wrong - I like Smash. But it hasn’t put much of a dent in my Warframe addiction.

You’re taking intentionally panoramic screenshots of Dark Souls and comparing them to the most boring Animus screens you can find. I could take a few screenshots in Ire: Blood Memory that would make those Dark Souls screens pale. But I’m not interested in your pissing contest.

In terms of gameplay, there’s no question that the combat in all three of the Tenbirds games is considerably smoother than Dark Souls. I remember both vividly. I just played the DS online stress test bit a few months ago.

Listen, bottom line is, you’re allowed your opinion and neither it, nor you, are relevant to me.

What got my attention and prompted me to reply was your irrationality and ignorance.

First, you made blanket statements about all mobile games being inferior, despite the fact that many iOS games were ported to Switch with high acclaim.

Second, you made all sorts of erroneous assumptions and ridiculous generalizations without actually having touched the game. You were wrong, and your attitude is wrong for gaming in general.

Now, as far as I can tell, all of this comes from your fanatical, defensive dedication to Dark Souls. Again, that’s cool. I couldn’t care less about what you like.

However, when you say stupid, baseless things without having experienced what you’re actually talking about, someone will call you out on it. This time it happened to be me.

You can enjoy things without trashing everything else around - especially when you literally have no knowledge or experience to speak of.

Feel free to get the last word. Maybe stand in front of a mirror and yell about how much mobile games suck, and prophesize about the terrible gameplay of games you’ve never even touched. I’m bored with you. And I’m gonna play the heck out of Animus when it releases on the Switch.

@ejf1984

I have no clue what floating animation you’re talking about. If it’s a graphical glitch, I’ve personally never seen it. Ironically, Animus looks a hell of a lot better than the Dark Souls port. Plays better too.

You can stand by your misguided opinion for the rest of your life. It’s still wrong, and indicates that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Animus is a great game. Now, if you actually play it, I’m more than willing to hear your thoughts. Until then, you’re just another senselessly angry guy on a message forum.

Oh, and Animus is NOT a F2P title, and does not rely on microtransactions.

The devs added a few things for people who wanted to contribute extra(as the money from Animus would go into continued content and development for Ire: Blood Memory), but did it in such a way that virtually no one paid more than the cost of the game. It’s complete the moment you download it.

But hey, who needs facts when you have baseless conjecture, wild/erroneous generalizations, and a crappy attitude? Tell me more about the game you’ve never played.

Re: The Mobile Phone Equivalent Of Dark Souls Is Making Its Way Across To The Switch

Ryzaerian

So many utterly clueless individuals, giving their opinion about a game they’ve never played.

Here’s a few words from someone who has actually played the game, and can give his opinion without looking an idiot.

This is a great game. Ire: Blood Memory, Animus: Stand Alone, and Animus: Harbinger are all made by the same company, and they’re excellent. Ire is free. Download it and try it to get a sense of how Animus plays.

You’re right - it’s not Dark Souls. All three of the games I’ve mentioned above are better than Dark Souls. They’re the spiritual successors to Dark Souls.

Christ. Play the game and then form an opinion - not before. You have no idea what you’re talking about, and you’re dead wrong.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 1st)

Ryzaerian

How is Warframe not on this list? That’s what I’ll be playing all weekend.

Also, a “staff writer” for Nintendo Life waits for a friend to let him mooch off of his family plan because he doesn’t think the online service is “worth it”?

Wow. I don’t know if your terrible decision-making is more related to a ridiculous level of stinginess or to a lack of dedication to your job, but I’m impressed either way.

No wonder you put out Fortnite plug pieces every week. You can’t get online to play anything else.

@Jarate

It’s not that it exists. It’s that most of us are tired of having it shoved down our throats through obvious, paid advertisements posing as articles.

Go through the archives on this site and see just how many pointless, sycophantic, promotional propaganda pieces been written about this game. No substance. Just purchased ass-kissing.

And we don’t hate it because it’s popular. We hate it because it’s overhyped trash riding a marketing campaign.

Re: Review: Crashlands - A Neat Survival RPG Which Can't Quite Keep Repetition At Bay

Ryzaerian

This is the second time I’ve seen a mobile game go from “decent” to “great” by being ported to the Switch.

Crashlands on iOS and Android had lots of great qualities, but the click to move/interact system made combat, resource gathering, etc. a tedious, often-frustrating task.

Not only do the Switch controls make movement and combat 10x better, but they’ve even notably increased the interaction radius.

It feels like a whole new game, and it plays smooth as butter.

Re: Review: Diablo III: Eternal Collection - More Loot Than You Can Shake A Magical Pointy Stick At

Ryzaerian

@Retupmocnin

Did you somehow forget that, counting 13 Torment ranks, there are 17 levels of progression and difficulty? Good luck button-mashing your way through a Torment XIII Greater Rift .

D3 is about the balance between skill, gear, and current difficulty level. Sounds like you kept yours way too low.

And even with that aside, it’d still be inaccurate to characterize the fights as mindless. Builds, skill synergies, rotation, cube enhancements etc. all play a major role in the overall gameplay.

Re: Review: Diablo III: Eternal Collection - More Loot Than You Can Shake A Magical Pointy Stick At

Ryzaerian

I’ve been playing Diablo 3 on/off since 2012, on 3 different platforms. My Switch copy, which is already pre-purchased, will be the 4th. Obviously, I love the game. And portable, at that?

Yeah, I’m pretty hyped.

By the way, if you’re a new player, make sure you start a seasonal character. Seasons make the game even more interesting, and you’ll be able to keep the character when the season ends.

@Dang69

In what delusional, alternate reality is Starlink a disappointment? It’s a freaking amazing game. I’ve got 50+ hours in, and still loving every minute of it. Same goes for every one of my friends who picked it up. It ranks in the top 5 Switch games I’ve ever played.

Have you actually played the game?

Re: 82% Of Starlink: Battle For Atlas Sales Were On Switch In UK, Only Managed 14th In Charts Debut

Ryzaerian

@DenDen They’re not. I have no interest in physical components, and thus bought the Digital Deluxe bundle.

Whatever factors contributed to the sales numbers (marketing, confusion/hesitation about the physical requirements), it wasn’t the quality of the game itself.

The game is excellent.

Furthermore, I seriously question the integrity and competence of any reviewer who gave Starlink less than 8/10.
