I emailed the Insights Lab SEGA has here in the States last night to see what the company has to offer for Puyo Puyo in the future! I’m still awaiting a response, but I hope it’s a good one.

@GameOtaku Agreed. The easiest way to get old games nowadays is to emulate them, but of course Nintendo wants to be the only one to hoard access to emulation of their past games and believes everyone else doing it is a sin to humanity.

OK, but can we talk about how Ian Hamlin, the voice for the main antagonist of Cadence of Hyrule (Octavo), voices Shadow SO WELL.

Nintendo: "We take the feedback from players seriously."
Also Nintendo: hoards the use of emulation all to themselves, screws over their fans one too many times (even though I have sent them the idea of a Kirby game once and they did love it), etc.

@RiasGremory Did I say Nintendo was to blame? No. I just said unfinished games like Scarlet & Violet are responsible for why I’m emulating Switch games.

Also, I think it's The Pokémon Company’s fault, as they’re the ones responsible for the awful three year deadlines being enforced on Game Freak.

And unfinished games like this are why I emulate the Nintendo games I want to get now. Heck, I just got Ryujinx set up so I can play Kirby & The Forgotten Land.

I myself personally don't bother TOO much with Content ID claims - only 1/3rd of them are actually bad (those being the ones that block your content).

@Axecon Yes, it is so much worse and I’m glad I never got it. Game Freak started development right after Sword & Shield and - thanks to The Pokémon Company - they ended up with an even jankier game than Sonic ‘06. And considering the fact that only 10% of glitches in ‘06 are actually annoying and the only real reason for the hate is because of what the game does with Sonic & Elise in the game’s final story, releasing a game that’s even worse than ‘06 jank-wise is an ACCOMPLISHMENT.

Sure - the game looks great and you get the game’s Legendary only an hour in, which is a great deviation on how you usually get Legendary Pokémon. Aside from that, the games are a total MESS. Scarlet & Violet were made to push the Switch to it’s limits, similar to what the first Crash Bandicoot game did for the PS1. Only difference is, the PS1 is a console that can handle such a game. The Switch ISN’T.

@Buizel EXACTLY. If you want Colors as an ACTUAL 2D Sonic game, play the DS version - much better than the console versions, and it has a plot that makes much more sense.

@KateGray Also, if you’re wondering about who voted the ice course option… that was me. Because I love the ice tracks in Mario Kart (especially Mario Kart: Super Circuit’s Snow Land, which I am HAPPY to see return).

I actually managed to talk with Scott Burns (the voice of Bowser in this game). Never talked with him about Sunshine, but I’m sure he has fond memories about it.

I’m glad the Alpha games are getting love from Capcom. Also, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge… Capcom still has to rerelease that OVA one day.

@VR32X Yep, that’s the third one. The first two Fatal Fury films were recaps of the first two games with some differences.

Anime based off of SNK IPs end up having… odd results. Fatal Fury is memorable, Art Of Fighting is… laughably bad according to critics, and Samurai Shodown… they still have to dub the Warrior’s Rage prequel!

The Carnival Night, Ice Cap, and Launch Base tracks that made it into the final game are LITERALLY BASED OFF OF MICHAEL JACKSON SONGS. Knuckles’ theme in Sonic 3 & Knuckles literally OOZES with Michael Jackson songs.

@AtlanteanMan Not trying to argue, man, and I understand where you’re coming from - I only found out about Skies of Arcadia, Shinobi, and Shining Force just recently. Plus, when Yoshinori Ono was still working at Capcom, he did something similar by ditching a LOT of old franchises that have big cult followings back then & nowadays, and it ended up with… Street Fighter V & Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Believe me, I’d just love to see ONE Capcom crossover game with Darkstalkers characters in it that does NOT include Morrigan - I get that she’s the face of the franchise, but she only ends up foreshadowing every other member of the cast.

@AtlanteanMan I feel like this would be a perfect time to point out that Bayonetta, Puyo Puyo, Sakura Wars, Persona and Yakuza exist. Oh yeah, and that Shenmue anime that’s upcoming as well. SEGA makes stuff other than Sonic games, just not ALL THE TIME.
