@Maulbert Refer to the comment from @jesse_dylan about the price of the original Dragon Quest III back in the day.
@Daniel36 Yeah, I remember Call of Duty games being total shelf warmers. My dad had only played a few of them (MW2, MW3, Black Ops 2, Black Ops 3, and the remakes of Modern Warfare 1 & 2).
@RygelXVIII Yes, that is true — everything else is affected by inflation.
@Daniel36 "Game prices are one of the few things that have remained pretty constant over the years, at least where I live. They were always the equivalent of 60 bucks. From Atari2600 up to now. Always the same."
I agree with you on the cheaper options thing, but weren’t video games (not consoles) HELLA cheap in the 2010s?
@Pat_trick No, back in the NES days, they released I first, then II, then III.
Now, III (the prequel story) is coming out first, followed by I & II. The order of the NES releases has the prequel placed after II, but the remakes are fixing that.
@Not_Soos I recommend playing the Bowser’s Inside Story remake (you don’t have to play Jr.’s Journey, by the way) and Dream Team if you want to get accustomed to it — the Giant Battles are in this exact art style (only cooler in colors on Dream Team because it’s an early 3DS game).
@Arehexes To be fair, Pocketpal is an... INCREDIBLY scummy company. If you want an image of just how scummy, think of all those posts from those people on Twitter that make Nintendo out to be heartless monsters.
As for ROM Hacks, not entirely sure about Nintendo's stance on those, as while some get DMCA'd, others are used as inspiration for them. Same with fangames, for that matter (some get DMCA'd, some don't), only it's far more common and confusing as to why with that specific category. With Pokémon Uranium, it was just... obvious (monetizing a fan-game is... no), but for AM2R, I think it was a matter of coincidence and that Nintendo didn't want that project to compete with Metroid: Samus Returns, which they were working on with Mercury Steam at the time.
@Arehexes We just have a love-hate relationship with Nintendo, that's all. Sometimes they put out news that makes us happy, sometimes they make us say "What are you... DOING?"
@smoreon Yeah, if I remember correctly, Kenny James started voicing Bowser in 2005, but Scott Burns’ clips were also used for Bowser in Mario games until 2009 when New Super Mario Bros. Wii & Bowser’s Inside Story came out, so by that point Kenny James had taken over the role. Mario Sports Mix was the last game Scott Burns worked with Nintendo on, and even then he voiced a Square Enix character.
@smoreon Best thing is, I actually emailed Scott Burns a couple years back the day before April Fool's asking him about why Ninja, Shirma and Chroma were in the Mario world in both Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Mario Sports Mix, especially considering certain events in Super Mario RPG (cough, Culex, cough).
On April Fool's Day, he actually responded back, and while he didn't have a definitive answer to my mystery, he actually told me about an experience he had voicing Bowser for Mario Power Tennis, and showed me the room in Bad Animals Studio where he recorded voice clips for Nintendo!
PS: "I know, she's not really my mama. Someday, when I'm bigger... I wanna fight that Mario again!"
@Samalik OK, now that reasoning I can get behind. I respect your decision not to buy Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and I once again apologize if my question came off as rude.
"…one daring attendee asked whether the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds would be limited to 'non-portable platforms', specifically singling out the Switch as one of the consoles not currently in the pipeline."
It’d be funny if it weren’t so pathetic. (reads Capcom’s response, which is basically just them shoving the investor’s own on-paper idea back into their greedy mouths)
Oh, what the heck, I’ll laugh anyway!
@SillyG Four things. 1. Sorry, I didn't know you were still considering buying the game. 2. My mom taught me to curse in a CARRS PARKING LOT. 3. My parents raised me right, as harsh as they were while doing it. 4. DON’T CALL ME “LOVE.” You just met me on the internet yesterday night.

Re: Tired Of Waiting For Silksong? This Upcoming Metroidvania Might Fill The Void
@DiamondJim There has only been one 3D Kirby game so far, NOT COUNTING Air Ride, Blowout Blast, and the mainline 2D Kirby games with 3D elements.
Likewise, though, there was only one Kirby Metroidvania, so…

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Party Jamboree?
I'm definitely going to check it out at some point, as me & my mom are more interested in Mario & Luigi: Brothership at the moment.
That being said, Jamboree still has my interest.
Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Has Reportedly Leaked Online
@UsernameMayne My brother in Christ, that’s exactly what makes people playing a game early before its release scum.
Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Has Reportedly Leaked Online
@VoidofLight People just want to play the game early and be scum of the earth.

@Maulbert Ever heard of inflation? Because that’s why prices for video games are so high.
Bait used to be believable back in my day…

@Blue_Dread My brother in Jesus H.P. Lovecraftian Christ… Fawful is permadead. He’s not coming back. Bowser’s Inside Story did him in for good.
Midbus I can see returning, but not Fawful.

Re: First Impressions: Nintendo's Taken Feedback To Heart With 'Super Mario Party Jamboree'
Haven’t played a Mario Party game in a hot minute, and Jamboree’s catching my interest.
I’m still set on getting Mario & Luigi: Brothership, though.
Re: Minecraft Announces Creepy New Biome And Mob Update
@NintendomPower True, but the Creaking still essentially behave like Boos in that they only move when you don’t look at them.

"I really wonder, who's even complaining about this?"
Horny people, that’s who.
Re: Minecraft Announces Creepy New Biome And Mob Update
Oh great, a rip off of the Boos from Mario. XD
Sarcasm aside, it's interesting to see Mojang's approach on the tree monster.

@ZZalapski Geez, I was talking about that she didn’t send any condolences yesterday! No need to be rude!

What I could say on here has already been said by very talented people.
What I will say, however, is notice how Michele Knotz didn’t send any condolences.
