@Nanoline52 if VA work doesn’t pay enough, she should do more to get other gigs OR she can find a day job that pays day to day expenses. Not everyone has the luxury of a huge paycheck, so you take actions to make ends meet until you get what you want. NFL HOFer Kurt Warner worked in a grocery to make ends meet before making it to the NFL.
Sales are not equal to profit. A game can sell well, but if they don’t make more than they spent making the game, then there’s no profit. The primary purpose of a business is to turn a profit: reduce cost and increase sales.
As for salaries, there’s a budget allocated to each aspect. Good business sense says that you stay within your budget. If you can’t afford something, then you go with what fits your budget. Maybe $4,000 was the budget for this VA role.
As to being transparent, there’s a fine line between privacy and transparency. I for one don’t want all my dirty laundry out in the open.
I have the JPN release, and it’s a 7.5 for me. I like the look of the game. The music isn’t memorable. The gameplay is OK. I was hoping for a true MetroidVania but that wasn’t the case. I don’t regret buying it but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
I was disappointed with the functionality of the pet, as it was mediocre at best. I had hoped that the game was similar to Monster Tale (NDS) when I bought it.
@EVIL-C unless we’re in the same position, we won’t know for sure what we’ll do. It’s easy to hate on these guys. I’m not saying that they’re right, but being honest, would you say no to the amount of money that he makes if you were asked to take the same actions.
@cdmac I’m from Southeast Asia. The Japanese occupied our country for the majority of WWII. My grandfather joined the armed forces in the Pacific to fight the Japanese.
Fast forward several years later. My grandfather drives a Toyota, bought me a Famicom, and takes me out to eat ramen all the time (before he passed away).
I like the sun imagery. It gives it a Japanese vibe. I just think that people are overly sensitive.
@DarthFoxMcCloud it’s not illegal for them to make a limited number. If it were then Nike would get sued for making limited edition Jordans. So would Adidas for not making that many Yeezys. Both Nike and Adidas constantly make limited pairs and they’re making a lot of money.
Claiming that it won’t brick your Switch versus guaranteeing it with some sort of warranty are two different things. I won’t use anything that doesn’t have the Nintendo Seal of approval. It’s too expensive too mess around with.
I have Apple Arcade and this was part of the reason I got it. It’s better than the previous outing and it feels like a full fledged MetroidVania. No more areas, it’s just a map that keeps getting bigger and bigger the more you unlock abilities. It even has that mechanic from CastleVania where opponents drop abilities/perks. Sadly the Apple Arcade version had a midpoint where it stopped. So I wasn’t able to finish the game. I WILL buy the full game if released physically on the Switch.
I agree with you. Playing video games and monster lore is something that my kid and I share. She's 12 (turning 13) and I know she would enjoy this since she's seen me play the NES games on the Switch. Sadly I can't since there's just too much going on.
I have to admit it feels wrong. I’ve always jumped in and “glided” to the boss room. I hope they bring it back. It doesn’t break the game but it would feel right to have it.
Hmmmm . . . Animal Crossing would also be a great idea. It would be similar to the LEGO city sets only with animal heads (like Chima, again). Too Nook's store, Mayor Tortimer's office, you can even have a museum and a train!
I got back into LEGO for the MILLENIUM FALCON. After that, I just kept buying set after set. I'm after the minifigs and the vehicles. IMHO, Samus with her spaceship with two minifigs: one with armor, the other with the zero suit would be cool. Starfox and team with Arwings and the tank would also be good. They would look like Chima sets!
Day 1 purchase for me. I hope they release a special MH4 3DS XL. My wife and I both love this game but she prefers playing on the Wii U vs the 3Ds so I hope that they release a Wii U version.
I would've bought this if there was a 2nd circle pad. I pre-ordered the 3DS and I'm part of the Ambassador Program and all but I've never really enjoyed the 3D feature. I tried it and I got dizzy. It's been off since then. I got myself a 3DSXL and I still don't use the 3D.
I got this pre-ordered because of the bonus. I like that ATLUS takes the time to package bonuses. Playing it on a later date though since I have other games lined up.
As much as I hate scores, it's something that has to exist in reviews because people need things to be quantified. I like the Famitsu style where they have 4 reviewers. Helps reduce bias. I don't like how Metacritic just averages scores though. I prefer to know the median rather than the average since a really biased score can throw off your average. Personally, I read reviews just to make sure that the game isn't broken (controls, glitches, balance). If I like a game and it isn't broken, I'll definitely buy it (or wait for a discount and then buy it).
I didn't start. I'd I did, I'd be hooked like a junkie. If they came up with Hercules and had all the monster figs like the Hydra, scaled to size, I won't be able to stop myself.
For the target market, I think it works. Only wish they added the 2nd circle pad. It's already aesthetically bad so why not at least add function. I would've bought this if the 2nd circle pad was built in.
I honestly don't know why this game takes so long to localize. There's hardly any text other than the names and descriptions of the items and the monsters.
I love that the game isn't perfect to the point that it feels manufactured. Somehow had a Viewtiful Joe vibe going for it when I played the demo. Getting this on retail Day 1 to support Platinum.
I just remembered, Disney owns both Marvel AND Star Wars. I can imagine a Marvel Pack with Secret Wars stages or Fall of the Mutants or the Dire Wraith invasion or any of the old crossovers.
I hate to say it but, I can't believe that WayForward made this. Is this the beginning of the end for them? When Treasure was asked to make a video game featuring Ronald McDonald, it was surprisingly good. With folks leaving WayForward and now this, I'm worried.
IMHO, it's one of the best games on the 3DS. Multiplayer is great. So many hours of gameplay. We hardly get any good 3rd party games and it gets dropped of the list of bests?!?!? Sorry if I'm overreacting.
IMHO games today are too easy or cheap. I remember challenging myself by trying to beat Quickman's stage without having to use Flashman's time stop ability. Also I loved it when I proved to my cousin that you can beat Contra without the Konami Code!
Yeah. I can't complain if JPN gets specials but EU and NA should have similar packages. EU was ahead on the Pikachu edition, they also got the MH3U bundle. To make matters worse, I cant even get a Nintendo console on Amazon! I just don't understand what's up with NOA.
Games to me are like a vacation. It's a form of escape from the daily grind of life. You go out to relax and enjoy. You won't go on vacation and do the same things that you do at work, right?
I'm 35 as well. I didn't like these though. If they were going to do a video game out of an old toy line, I'm voting for MASK. It could play like Master Blaster with vehicle and non-vehicle segments. With multiple playable characters, That would be AWESOME!
I tend to enjoy games that make it big in the Japanese charts than the Western charts. Monster Hunter being the current top franchise for me. This is HUGE in Japan but so-so in the Western market. GTA, a big seller in the West, I didn't really enjoy. I think it's all a matter of taste. It just so happens that the market is bigger in the west vs Japan. Everyone should do what they're doing and swap notes every now and then so that they learn from each other.
I almost gave up on this game when I started on the Wii due to frustration. Only when I found the right weapon did I start enjoying the game. For all rookies, I suggest that you download the demo and find the right weapon for you.

I love TwinBee. Speaking of, I still hope that Konami World gets a Western release. It requires translation so I doubt if it will ever happen.

D&D for me. So much cheaper than playing in the arcade! I think I spent over $100 playing this when it first came out.

@Fusion14 it's a beat 'em up. D&D knowledge is not required to enjoy the game.
Finally. Set aside some credit specifically for this game.
