Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara has been a frustrating release for some Nintendo eShop gamers. After arriving on rival platforms earlier in the summer, issues with the Wii U build caused a rather late notice delay and then multiple weeks of silence and, we imagine, failed submissions. Just over a week ago an update from Capcom estimated a September release, without going providing specific dates.
Capcom Unity staff member Neil Gortz has now provided an updated to confirm that it'll actually arrive in North America in this week's update, before following in Europe next week.
We are happy to announce that the Wii U version of Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara has a confirmed launch date of September 5th in North America, and September 12th in Europe. We sincerely apologize for the delays in getting this title to you all, and appreciate the patience and support.
Looking forward to gaming with those of you that get it.
We've been looking forward to this one here at Nintendo Life, and certainly hope that its been worth the wait. Are you planning to pick this up?

This is a good collection. I enjoyed playing both of these games since I never saw them in a local arcade back in the day. I consider them the unofficial prequel to Dragon's Crown
FINALLY
Great!
Just in time for my brother's birthday next Sunday. Finally we will be playing co op on something that is not RE6.
I just need to check what controllers are compatible.
Great Stuff, almost got this on PSN the other day, happy I waited.
Finally I've been waiting so long to play an online co-op beat em up on Wii U.
So getting this.
I will believe it when it happens.
day one
At last!!!
I'm waiting for this game a lot! I'll buy it, no doubt.
I hope they release Alien vs Predator soon!
Glad they got their code approval. I would love to say "can't wait to get it" but I'm a very patient person (looks at initial timeframe). With that said, getting it on release.
thank you
Do we know a price yet?
Awesome! Glad that they didn't abandon the Wii U gamers.
I look forward to the review
Great will be getting an e-shop card to download this Duck Tales and maybe Pokemon Rumble.
Should I get this? I don't know how D&D works.
@Fusion14 it's a beat 'em up. D&D knowledge is not required to enjoy the game.
Finally. Set aside some credit specifically for this game.
This news just made my week. I guess to be fair getting Rayman tonight will make my week this is just like icing on top of a cake of awesomeness!
ready to get this day 1. Bout frickin time.
Eh, don't think I'll get this. Still need to buy Pokemon Rumble & Ducktales.
One of most anticipated Wii U games this year. Good to hear it is coming out this week and should be the best version after the time spent working out the bugs.
Is it confirmed to have its internet coop multiplayer support intact or does Wii U owners get the shaft on that?
Wow, I actually had a birthday while waiting for this to be released..
FINALLY! Day 1 for me. Hope it's not mega-buggy or something
@Fusion14 It's a beat 'em up, so you don't really need any D&D knowledge to enjoy it. It looks great and assuming they resolved all the bugs, it's totally worth the asking price and wait.
Most Def will get this. I've been holding off on the other platforms. I'm glad they are finally releasing. I will definitely be supporting pretty much all classic Capcom arcade and console remakes like this going forward. Keep em coming!!
I'll wait until this goes on sale.
Played the PSN demo ages ago, and been waiting patiently for the Wii U release. Not long now.
I've had some E-shop credit sitting in my account, waiting for this for a while now. I look forward to playing it on my days off this week.
It is not a good port maybe it is not broken in that it crashes but it doesn't look right.
If you really want it then get the Saturn version. Or play it on Mame. Or get the Arcade Board.
(I got it on steam wish I didn't).
Finally! I've been waiting for this game...
Hopefully that means the bugs are fixed.
About time ive been waiting for this game since E3 !!!!! Looks Awesome , can'twait to play
Finally! I can beat up beholders, mind flayers, sahuagins and githyanki in the ultimate side-scrolling D&D experience!...oh, wait, does CoM even have those types of monsters?
I already got it for PS3 but I'm glad too see it made its way over to the Wii U. I really enjoyed it.
good lord i cant wait, wii u's eShop is HORRIBLY LACKING and this will actually be worth getting. i mean good lord, it hardly even has any demos available, let alone games to buy.
Hopefully Australia is not too far behind!
i hope they postpone this game again so i can read all the complaints.
thats what im shooting for, ive got loads of popcorn i just need more fodder
@GamerZack7 I believe they do not... Although a terrasque might be interesting...
P.S. you can always fight beholders in the Gameboy version of Eye of the Beholder!
So now my opinions get deleted? thats a first time here at NL. anyway this is a fun fun game you guys will LOVE it
@Platypus101: Actually, I do remember that one of the branching paths in Tower of Doom has you fighting sahuagin boarders on a sailing ship and I think that a beholder and a mind flayer might have shown up as level bosses; however, I am 95% sure that there are no githyanki in CoM. Also, even though no D&D knowledge is required to play CoM, I highly recommmend giving Mystara a look; it's one of the oldest and most well-developed D&D campaign settings, with a well-developed hollow-world concept, an interesting take on the divine and enough material to keep you going for a VERY long time.
@Platypus101: My friend wants to run a campaign with a tarrasque as a final boss. Why wold he spoil it before he even begins? D:
@CC13: I've liked the sound of Mystara since I first heard about it. I intend to download a copy of the Rules Cyclopedia from D&D Classics, mainly because I'd like to dabble in every edition of D&D. Edition Wars? Ha! I laugh at the very idea!
Well, I know one of the first games I'd like to download from the Wii U eShop! I'd love to play online with other members of Nintendo Life sometime.
