I got mine pre-ordered. I don't know if I'll keep it or make money and sell it through eBay though . . . Hmmm . . . the capitalist side of me is taking over.
I think it's a SMART move for Nintendo. Allows them to move some of those DSis. They did the same for Halloween (Orange & Green) and it sold really well (and they're worth +$50 more now). It will extend the life of the DSi since there are a handful who won't buy a 3DS.
Based on experience, a 3DS (lite) won't be too far behind. I give it 2.5 years and it's going to get better battery life and/or a bigger screen.
Working weird hours is now pretty much the standard since the world is connected. It's a great game and all those 5am calls paid off! But I still feel for the guys over at Retro. Some people just aren't morning persons. I hope this doesn't change anything. Nintend + Retro = WIN!
VC titles $5 . . . Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary Collection $30 . . . Seeing it on your shelf, unopened during Mario's 50th Anniversary pricesless.
I got this pre-ordered.
I agree with Chunky Droid, I'm getting it for the Soundtrack and the Booklet, the game is just an add on. It's like getting each for $10. I like art books and soundtrack CDs and most of it sell for more than $30 online after the original release has come and gone.
This brings back memories. I remember having to go around the neighborhood showing off my Contra skills (beating the game without 30 lives), finishing Simon's Quest and Mega Man (showing off the "pause bug"). I miss all the dumb rumors that would come out that you simply couldn't dispute unless you went to someone's house and proved it to him!
I personally like retail releases over downloaded versions. I like holding the disc and reading the manual. Everything's virtual. It bother's me a bit. The other day, my heart skipped a bit when my Wii got an error message. First thing that I thought of was all my WiiWare and VC titles.
Nintendo is making a lot of money off casual gamers. Now Apple is eating up that side of the market. There are more gamers now but as it stands, Nintendo is at the middle. The hardcore HD gamers choose MS or Sony while the casual gamers are slowly moving towards Apple. I was trying to convince a co-worker who is an iPhone user/caual gamer and other than Nintendo exclusive games, I didn't have any way to convince him to buy a DS.
I've been mass producing MEW. I have a copy of HG and SS. I just keep reseting the data on HG and trade the MEW to my SS. TIP: If you're particular about personalities, save the game before going inside the Pokemart to pick up MEW. Retrieve MEW from the Delivery Man and if it's not the personality that you want, shut down and load the previous save. It took me 5 restarts to get a TIMID MEW.
It's great that Nintendolife offers these things. IMHO Nintendolife is a lot better than other gaming websites. I actually put more stock in the game reviews from this site than any other site. More power to Nintendolife!
I like Way Forward but they haven't reached pre-order status in my book. But this is something that's on my watch list. Excellent trailer though. Makes it hard to resist!
I have the US Version on VC and it's an excellent game. However I am disappinted with the visuals. The screenshots that you have are serveral notches above what I'm seeing. It's just too dark on the real game. Is it the same for the JPN version. Maybe you could insert that in the review, as a potential caveat for NA buyers.
I'm disappointed with High Voltage Software. I think they need to realize that gameplay matters more than graphics. I'm seriously impressed with their technical ability in maxing out the graphic capability of the Wii but if it isn't fun to play, I don't care how gorgeous the game looks. They should get someone on their team who focuses on gameplay. So much promise that constantly fails to deliver. SIGH
I like the Platinum gift but I'd rather have rare games or soundtrack CDs or special controllers like what they get in JPN. But hey something is better than nothing!
Something far fetched and maybe even a little backward would be for Nintendo to send you a cart/disc with your content (DSiWare/WiiWare/Virtual Console) in it. With an added charge of course. IMHO, I would prefer that. It may not be applicable but I play Magic The Gathering online and it's nice how they can send you HARDCOPIES of the card if you want. It does get deleted from your Virtual Account after they've sent it though. But I would rather have the real thing than a Virtual Copy
It's a heartwarming story. I just hope that the this doesn't send a wrong message to the kid and grows up to be a spoiled brat who expects everything to be given to her.
A SHMUP with no comments from Sean?!?!?! What's the world coming to?!?!?!
Seriously, I would download this in a heartbeat but I can't think of any other game to download to make the most out of my 2000 points card. I got the Metallic Blue DSi and it has all the other potential games that I want to get on DSiWare.
I wish Nintendo would fixt the currency system to allow me to share points between my DSi and Wii. If they can link Club Nintendo, why not link the points as well!
Sounds interesting at 500 points. I wonder if the shooter mode plays like a SHMUP and/or Contra. I don't care too much for the other modes. Any thoughts/feedback?
It's Metal Torrent for me. I won't get it til I get an XL though. I want all my DSi Ware titles on that HUGE XL screen. I would download it now if I had the option to transfer the games. I hate this no transfer crap!

Re: Xenoblade's North American Release Chances Take a Knock
I just wish that someone picks this up and it sells like hotcakes. Then NoA will just knock it's head against the wall.
If this doesn't make it, I'm hoping that Pandora's tower does (keeping fingers crossed)
Re: Sorry Everyone, There Was No Monster Hunter 3DS Reveal
Crap. I just hope that there's a new Monster Hunter when the rumored new Nintendo console comes out.
Re: Review: Inazuma Eleven (DS)
I wonder if this will ever be released in NA . . . I'm looking forward to it though.

Re: Japanese 3DS Surveys Reveal Awareness Low, Price Too High
At this point, I don't think I'll be spending more than $$250 for this.
Re: Mario Sports Mix Gets a Little Square Enix Boost
I have all the Mario Sports titles so this one is an instabuy for me.
I'm still on the fence as far as non-Nintendo characters go. But I loved Snake and Sonic on SSBB so I guess I can live with them here.

Re: Here's 10 Minutes of Retro City Rampage Gameplay and Music
This is GOOD! I wonder what the impact would've been if this was released during the heyday of the NES. Would it get Nintendo's Seal of Approval?

Mixed emotions on my end. Until I get some hands-on, I don't think I'll be spending points on this title.
Re: THQ Brings Art Alive on Wii with uDraw Studio
Interesting. I like it when they come out with new things. I just hope that it works as well as I want it to.
