So many people complaining about this being a smash specific direct. This is way less than smash wiiu had. This is the third and final direct. Nintendo has done normal directs as well so whats the problem. If you don't like smash, don't watch, if you want the Nintendo direct that covers everything, watch that.

@BlueKnight07 they have moved a few times actually, look at the mii fighters, diddy kong, ike and little mac, shulk and pacman and more

I am looking over this over and over again, if it is fake, its very well done, so many characters have moved around to accommodate the characters.... If Banjo is in this, I will lose my mind !

@Sakura Thank you very much for your reply. I just looked on the Eshop, and wow is this game overpriced. If you got everything digitally in the starter pack then I'd be all for this game , but if you want everything ( Even digital only ) It's £90. Rediculous, why is this not just included in the game, its already on the game cartridge. All the starter kit does is lock it behind a pay wall. I want the full game, and the arwing model, but to do that costs a fortune

Does anyone know, if you buy the physical edition, do you have to buy the physical toys to get the other pilots and ships, or can you unlock them in game?

So hang on, if i buy the starter physical pack, does that mean the only way i can unlock the extra content is by buying the physical ships? Or do i unlock them in game? I want that physical arwing, but if i buy it and tons of content is locked out then i wont bother

@Razieluigi If you download the Nes app on the Japanese Eshop, then you can play the famicom disk version with the better music/ sound effects

Wow thats really really bad. It's a FREE to play game. How on earth can you justify charging for it, it's not even like its offering an offline version, it's literally just the same thing as it is on the digital stores.

Anyone know what the UK price is for this with the discount?

See the app would be fine if it just worked as:

A) A lobby system when you want to chat to the whole room
B) A private party chat system connected to the system, allowing you to chat exclusively with friends so you can chat in any game (like Xbox and play station)

I think I understand why the app exists, ultimately I think its to keep the Switch only needing to run the game, rather than background apps. In that regard it makes sense.

What doesn't is the stupid level of restrictions to the app! Sort it out Nintendo. You come up with great designs but just learn from your competitors for once! Your online needs a lot of improvement and the Switch online service should of provided those improvements. Instead were just paying for what we basically already had for free!

@polarbear Switch online won't be going anywhere, as much as people don't like it, its here to stay. To be fair, I agree it should be so much better, however I have a family account with 8 friends and it cost me less the £4 a year. So I can't complain too much

Nintendo life your getting a little click bait in your article titles lately. Its not playable in handheld mode because of the motion controls. Why does your article title have to invite such hate. You could of made a better title that doesnt get endless hate from the community and ultimately just give the game a bad rep. Why dont you talk about the good instead of just churning out troll bait

For a mobile game i thought it was really good, and the fixed price model was a way better choice than free to play. Free to play model is probably one of the worst things to happen to gaming.

@Roarsome Haha I know what you mean when it comes to entry level for Smash. My suggestion is do not play online, it becomes competitive very quickly and doesn't give you a chance to play properly/ get used to it. They all play very similarly so if you want to try one out, get one of the older ones cheaply, Wii u is my favorite so far, although for single player Brawl is king. It works as a "Hardcore" fighting game, and as a party game with friends. The entry level is only as high as the opponents your playing against , so aim to play with newcomers if you can at first

@Roarsome imagine all of your favorite characters in one game, and not just a basic game that is purely about how many characters there are, but with great game play and replay value. That is Smash Bros. The fact I can fight as Mario against Sonic the hedgehog, or Link against Samus , Solid Snake vs Pacman, its truly something that no other game can even come close to in its scope. Whether you like the game or not, the appeal is clear

I would love a Podcast from the Nintendo life team. I used to listen the Nintendo magazine podcast and it was awesome. I listen to NVC but would be good to have another Nintendo podcast
