Merge Games has revealed that action RPG Crimson Keep will be fighting its way to Switch next week, launching for the system on Thursday 29th November.
The game is actually described as a "rogue-like, first-person, action RPG", where players are banished to the dungeons below the destroyed village of Larkstead. You'll need to explore, scavenge, and fight for your own survival, looking out for the mysterious Crimson Keep while escaping your disturbing surroundings. There are all sorts of beasts and other horrors lurking in the murky depths, with a procedurally generated dungeon system in place to ensure fresh adventuring throughout.

You may well be descending into an ever-changing labyrinth full of monsters and traps, but snagging every last bit of XP and loot - and attempting to keep yourself safe from damage - should help you to survive. You can also choose from three character classes - Berserker, Witch and Drifter - with each one featuring a range of weapons that boast different speeds, damage arcs, and ranges. As you level up, you'll also gain new abilities which are useful in different combat situations.
As mentioned above, Crimson Keep releases on Switch on 29th November, but pre-orders actually go live today (22nd). The game is priced at £14.99 / €19.99, but any purchases made between now and 6th December will benefit from a 20% discount.

Ha, reminds me of the 90s FPS, with the disconnected hands
@Bunkerneath
My initial thought about the disconnected hands was "made for VR originally?"... and then "Rayman"...
Well, given the train wreck that Underworld Ascension apparently is, I am in need of a decent old school Dungeon crawler. Fingers crossed this one is decent.
Looks quite fun actually, is it already out on anything else?
Reminds me "Eye of the Beholder". The disconnected hands are apparently the separate joy-cons but it doesn't need to be shown in this way for the entire game.
Conceptually, this reminds me a bit of “Slayer” on the 3DO. Wonder if anyone here remembers that one.
The term “procedural generation” was not commonly used back then (mid-90s?), but I believe Slayer’s dungeons indeed were procedural.
Also reminds me a bit of Arx Fatalis, although that one had a fixed layout, and a much darker tone overall.
Looks like it has motion controls.
Did they aim for VR, with the simplistic graphics and disconnected hands? Looks pretty terrible. There's really no art direction, the environments are barren, character models are amateurish and the texture-work is shoddy. The skeletons are cute with their painted quality.
lol this looks terrible
Hooray for the shovelware system!!
This actually would interest me if it wasn't another roguelike. I already have too many of those to play.
