I think the wiiu is a great console, but unfortunately was so badly marketed it didnt stand a chance. Nintendo never dropped the price, only 2 colours ( white and black) one minor limited edition ( wind waker HD). I swear i only saw one advertisement over its entire lifetime and a bad one at that. Nintendo did support it with great games ( Smash bros, Mario Kart, Mario Maker, Bayonetta 1/2, Splatoon, Wonderful 101 ( amazing game!) Rayman, Monster hunter 3, Twilight princess and Wind waker ( wind waker is the best hd remaster ive ever played) DK tropical Freeze Starfox Zero ( the controls are great people, play it for one playthrough and you can see what Myamoto was going for). I could keep going but you get the idea, this doesn't even touch on all the great download titles and all the extra dlc that came out for the system. (hyrule warriors just came to mind!) . Nintendo had a great system, but they failed on marketing, kept everything too close to there chest, made the architecture of the system too different from other systems, did not push for third party support and generally just didn't do what they normally do to sell a console. Its almost like the PSVita. A great hand held with no support or marketing ( even sony didnt support it) The Wiiu got supported by Nintendo, but it needed more. Still it will stay as one of my Favourite consoles of all time
There is only 2 weeks left of October. SURELY they have to reveal it this month. Don't go full Sega Saturn on us Nintendo, you NEVER go full Sega Saturn
@Octane Its is a different legal issue for having emulators on consoles. PC isnt owned by anyone, Microsoft, Apple and Linux make operating systems ( Apple make hardware as well) , but they dont own the rights to PC itself. Thats why Emulators end up on them. Its essentially open source. Where as a console its different they have owners, and as such someone is liable if they have something illegal like a rom running on there system. Thats why there never official downloads. Its too much of a legal issue to make it worth while
Oh and favourite n64 platformer? Banjo Kazooie all the way. I tried tooie on the 360 and just didn't feel as polished, felt the level design was almost too open. You would enter a level, be able to do one mission then have to move on to find the next power up. Im sure il complete it one day though
Looking forward to this game, after Banjo kazooie " returned" on xbox 360 with Nuts and bolts i figured we would never seen this gameplay formula again ( not a terrible game just not a Banjo kazooie game, if they just used a different set of characters it would of been a lot better). I've seen enough to know il get this, as long as reviews don't say it's a broken game ( glitchy , frame rate, buggy etc) then it's pretty much a definite buy for me
