@NEStalgia Welp, I'm boned then. All 3 accounts on my switch are different region, so I highly doubt I can use family plan on them. On PS4 regions don't matter for online play, one account has PSPlus, all accounts on the console can go online.
"Metroid: Samus Returns is a 3D remake of Metroid II. Well, it's the kind of remake that Nintendo like to make, and actually shares a similar relationship to A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds. It's more of a reimagining in that sense." OK, what? This makes literally no sense. ALttP and ALBW are two completely different games that share part of the game world and gameplay mechanics, besides that they are two completely different games as far as the story goes, it's more so akin to a sequel (well, as much as something can be a sequel in Zelda games) Samus Returns on the other hand shares its story with Metroid 2, they are in a way the same game, so it's a solid remake.
"every last single-player mode in Smash history has a green button" Um, what? Quickly googling up, in Brawl the Solo mode button is orange, Subspace Emissary is white...ish and the green button is the Vault. In Melee there was no color buttons whatsoever in the menu. In SSB4 the green button is Shash Tour and Smash Run, sure, but that doesn't mean it has to stick around (I will give it that the rest of the colors do fit the SSB4 ones)
@SuperC142 For now it likely would be the safest bet. So far only the 3rd party DOCKS were confirmed to break consoles, so perhaps charging itself should be fine, as I didn't hear any reports of USB-C powerbank bricking a Switch. But for time being, better to stick to 5V only ones.
@SuperC142 I meant standard powerbanks (with USB-A). Though you are right that my post is not clear about it, and someone could thiink I meant USB-C powerbanks as well.
@Bondi_Surfer The Switch itself is USB-PD compliant, you can charge it using ANYTHING. It's the POWER SUPPLY that is not compliant and using it to charge other devices may break them. As well as the dock, which is designed to only be used with the Switch.
@Silbrandir @jswhitfield8 @Curlynob @MrBlacky No, CHARGING the Switch itself is not an issue. What they said about Nintendo's power supply not being compliant to USB-C spec was about the dock itself, as that uses higher voltage (per USB-C specifications). All in all, the dock's HDMI output as well as the powering the Switch BY THE DOCK are not to spec. Powerbanks and such will supply only 5V, which is perfectly safe for the Switch itself.
Well, I'm not sure I'd say that SWITCH survived this fall. It fell down right on the left joycon and it cushioned the impact. I guarantee that if they dropped it without controllers it would fall apart on hit.
Um, this isn't exactly an ENDLESS Runner kind of game. It's more akin to the Rayman games on mobile, there are actual stages and goals in this, not a single, randomly generated level where only purpose is "How far can you get?"
To be honest, if Nintendo thought a bit they WOULD be able to use the WiiU's circle pad for 360 movement in this. By binding it to the lower screen, I remember you could control characters using it, including walking slower and such.
@DoctorOverbuild I THINK it's only the GameSync, which basically was just getting pokemiles and syncing medals, that's it. Other than that, the ACTUAL online services (PSS and GTS) are not related to it.
To be honest, me and my friend WANT to play a multiplayer Zelda. The biggest issue we had with Tri Force Heroes for us, is the fact you can either play alone or with THREE players. You can't play with only two (ie. one dummy that can be controlled by either player like in singleplayer), unless you get a 3rd random person in.
So, if another multiplayer Zelda game does happen, all I want is for it to be playable with 2 people.
@ALinkttPresent I already tried, got to humble's site through an American proxy and it just tells me that I can't purchase it in my country, weirdly enough.
@kyuubikid213 Nope, and even if there was, I'm accessing it through .com
@ALinkttPresent @seb5049 @kyuubikid213 I know that Nintendo is doing a lockout, of course. However, in the previous bundle, the NA only one, I COULD buy it even thought I live in Europe. And there is no way to switch it to 'american' version anywhere on Humble's site sadly, it reads out region based on IP.
Botheridoodaas! Humble apparently started to do some region lockout shenanninanninannigans. I have a USA 3DS and Wii U, but I live in Europe, and above the payment thingy I get a "Nintendo eShop codes can only be redeemed on Nintendo eShop in Europe and South Africa. They will not work on American or Japanese Wii U or Nintendo 3DS devices."
@PewnyPL - please mind the profanity. Thanks muchly
I don't think Nintendo will C&D this. It's basically an emulator. If the games are hosted on the site, all they have to do is remove the roms and have the player supply their own roms. There, done.
EDIT: So I checked the site. It's LITERALLY just an emulator. Considering there are countless other NES emulators hosted everywhere, Nintendo won't take this down either.
@VortexTraveller Sadly, unlike Steam, Nintendo has a HUGE differences in sales+marketing between NoE and NoA, so it couldn't happen. BUT, the fact they made a humble bundle with 3DS/WiiU games is a good sign it will happen in the future, and this time highly possibly with Europe.
In other words, they did something with the servers to most likely try and reduce the upkeep costs, and tested how it will do in the game itself. As it didn't work out they returned to the previous servers and that's it.
@YoshiTails No, it wasn't a bad step. BRB did a great job, however SEGA showing up and saying "Hey guys, I know you are developing this for completely another console and using an engine incompatible with Wii U, but please, port it to Wii U anyway, kthnxbye" is what killed the game.
"(...) where the members feel that they have received certain rewards as a result of not only their purchases but also the history of their gameplay" Achievements?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Is he serious?! It just shows that they really don't know where they screwed up! "The biggest mistake in Boom was adding too many features to it. It was too much to ask of any development team." No, asking for those features were good and many development teams would handle it, GIVEN ENOUGH TIME. This is where Sonic Team/Sega screwed up, they didn't give enough time to the developers. And they've been doing it for years now, what with Sonic '06 being a prime example.
But... what about this year's Gold and Platinum status? Will there be rewards for those, or did they just go "Well *** you guys, you get nothing this year!"
@TheHumbleFellow It wasn't BRR's decision to release the game. I'm fairly sure they even wanted MORE TIME to work with the game, but SEGA went "Haha, nope, we scheduled release for this day, it's going out".
I love how people read "Homebrew only exploit" and immediately go "PIRACY!". If it only was this simple... 3DS has way too much security, and launching a game from SD card would require Kernel Mode access to either install it by BYPASSING LICENSE CHECK or reroute game cart reads to SD card. None of that can be done in any way on this exploit as it only grants USER MODE access
Besides, piracy on 3DS existed for quite a while now because of Gateway (4.x only), and recently a new flashcard was released that works on newest firmware.
I don't really care myself about the additional legendaries themselves, as I already own all of them in X/Y (transferred from Gen IV and Gen V). But. Imagine the updated music playing in their respective battles.
Guys, it's IMPOSSIBLE to backup those replays. The saved replay data is pretty much the button inputs and without the random element (as in, every items and such spawns at the exact same time it did). The game pretty much plays itself. Those old replays won't work with the patched game because the mechanics will change. In one case you could've KO'd someone, but after a nerf it's possible that the punch won't KO them anymore. Hell, even just making them launch a shorter distance would already break the flow of the replay.
Considering I have a US 3DS, whille living in Europe, it would be a great thing for me. eShop is fine with me, especially since in the end prices are lower, but sometimes I'd preffer a boxed game, or even a used one (especially true for single-player only games with low replay value)
To whoever wrote the article - those screws won't be easy to lose. Look at 0:47 in first video and 1:33 in the second. There are small plates that stop the screw from being removed completely. Therefore, the new faceplates should come with their own screws.
