This game was the sole reason I ended up buying a second hand Xbox One just to play it, as I've always loved Rockstar games and the first RDR was amazing. I easily put about 200 hours into the game and loved every minute of it.
It wouldn't be a day-one purchase if it came out for Switch 2 as there's so many games I haven't played in my backlog, but I'd gladly dive back into Arthur Morgan's world again at some point and probably give it another 200 hours of my life.
I'm definitely interested, it's certainly an anomaly in the world of gaming. I've personally never even seen a Virtual Boy, let alone played on one. It's only the price that's off-putting, but just as something cool to add to my collection and have sitting on the shelf once the novelty's worn off, I'll probably get it eventually.
What would be a really good incentive is if Nintendo, or any developers for that matter, were to produce new games exclusively for use with the new Virtual Boy, but I really can't see that happening any time soon.
It's a real shame to see so much negativity about this game, as I think on the surface it's a fantastic game. It feels great to play, the interlinking tracks are generally awesome and the knockout tour is a fun addition. It's only when you get into the specifics you start realising how much more they could have done (traditional 3-lap GP mode, more content in free roam, more customisation options, a tidier character select screen, maybe even some sort of story-type missions, etc...)
I think the main issue is coming off the back of the fairly recent DLC releases for Mario Kart 8, this new one just feels comparatively lacking in content - But we have to remember MK8 was nearly 10 years old by the time it got to where it is now. It'll be interesting to see what Mario Kart World is like in a couple of years time as I'd be very surprised if they don't have more options/modes/characters/tracks up their sleeve as planned DLC, but for the price of the game at launch, I feel we should have been given a little more from day one.
I’ve got such a backlog of Switch games that I still need to play / purchase, that if the next console isn’t backwards compatible, I’ll probably just end up putting off getting one for months until I eventually feel the need to pay out for the newer console to play the latest games, might even be able to get it cheaper or second hand by then. If I can just simply upgrade and shift all my physical and digital games over to a new and improved Switch console, then that could very easily be a launch purchase for me.
Much as I'd have loved Mario and Luigi to sound game-accurate, we have to remember that this is a movie and they need to appeal to as wide an audience as possible to fill those cinema seats, that includes people who aren't necessarily fans of the game and just want to see an entertaining movie.
Having the likes of Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key all seemed like odd choices when they were first revealed, but having seen how much they've been popping up on chat shows and promoting the movie, it all makes sense now. People will go to see the movie just because they like Jack Black or Chris Pratt, even if they've never played a Mario game.
Red for me. I still remember heading to Electronics Boutique with a friend and each pre-ordering the game, he went for Blue so we would end up spending the next few months walking home from school joined together by a GB link cable, battling and trading our 'mon.
I too miss the Wario of old. He's still my go-to character in all the Mario spin off, Kart, Party and sports titles. But the WarioWare series and the design of his character definitely lacks the money-hungry bitter and determined guy from the Wario Land series.
Instead of churning out more 'New Super Mario Bros' 2D platformers, I'd love it if they put their focus on another Wario Land-esque game. At the very least they could've made him playable (As well as the even more underutilised Waluigi) in those games instead of a couple of random Toads.
Apparently clicking the "Notify Me" button does nothing as I've never once been notified by Nintendo when these have come back in stock and only find out when they're gone again...
Everyone's already beaten me to the comment about there not being enough boards... But yeah, after Smash Ultimate set the standard and Mario Kart 8 is finally catching up with DLC, it's definitely time for the latest Mario Party to hop on board and give us more of the old boards and characters. More is More!
Coconut Mall is a great track, but as it was just on the Wii version and the graphics still hold up so I can't see them improving it too much, therefore I'm probably most looking forward to Choco Mountain as I have fond memories of that track, but it's not very pretty to look at these days, it will be nice to see it spruced up.
I've already 100% the game and found the overall difficulty balance was just about perfect. Challenging but without being nightmare inducing. So Rookie mode isn't for me, and Dread mode just sounds way too frustrating... It's great that they're releasing free updates though. The boss rush mode will be a fun way to jump back into the game.
Still waiting to get my hands on one of these... It's now February and they've been sold out since October 2021 on the UK site. Have there been any updates on if/when they'll be back in stock?
The only radio station I really have the fondest memories of is Vice City's V-Rock. So I'm glad to see the likes of Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth and Slayer all made the cut. I am content with this.
Weird that Love Fist had a track removed considering they're literally in the game.
These games are all such classics I'd have been happy enough with direct port just to be able to play them again on a Nintendo console. These updates look great, really looking forward to them.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st May (North America)
High on Life looks quite fun. I enjoyed Trover Saves the Universe and that has the similar Rick and Morty vibe.

I answered this survey while on the toilet.

Still keep checking the UK store for a restock... I've never waited so long to buy a controller.
Re: Where To Buy The Nintendo Switch Online Nintendo 64 Controllers
Seems like the only place to get one of these now is from ebay... if you're willing to pay over £100 for a controller.

Poor George Lazenby, always forgotten.

@Z-Core My immediate thought was they really did miss an opportunity to simply title this article "Sonic 3 & Knuckles"
