Re: Nintendo's Official Podcast Just Aired Its "Last Episode"

Nintendoh

@TotalHenshin Don't be so closed-minded. The NP podcast had lots of fabulous insight on first and third-party games, and also gave some spotlight to some lesser-known games.

@Kyloctopus @NinChocolate @Greenmanalishi @swoose @AX-7 Having opposition for the sake of opposition will result in a far worse outcome. And as for claiming how "corporate" it was, it was no more offensive at advertising and PR than Nintendo Directs were, so I find this a non-issue. Again, the interviews and other insights made the experience worthwhile.

It's a shame the podcast is going away, hopefully we'll see a successor of some sort.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online Game Boy, SNES & NES Service With Four More Titles

Nintendoh

@Vil
1) The N64 games work much better than they originally were at launch
2) Most Switch online games work quite well, only Smash currently has issues
3) Mario RPG needs Square's permission to get the game on NSO since they co-own the copyright to the game and exclusively own its original characters. It's a legit excuse, whether you like it or not.

Instead of whining, why don't you try out the games offered? As I've said above, try opening your tastes.

Re: Review: FIFA 23 - The Final Whistle Blows On A Legacy Of Disappointment

@Miu @sixrings

@Dr_Luigi 's comment is a good refutation of the original post by @Silly_G. It's quite disingenuous to compare FIFA with Just Dance and Picross. While the gameplay of the latter two remain the same, the respective songs and puzzles themselves are totally different, resulting in an overall different experience compared to past entries. This alone does not make things "more of the same" as @Silly_G claims; you can buy a previous version of Just Dance or Picross and have an overall different experience as a result. The same CANNOT be said of FIFA's roster updates, especially considering that the versions on other platforms have features not seen on the Switch version. You can actually just buy a previous version of FIFA and not lose anything gameplay-wise.

Mario Strikers: Battle League at least didn't have other versions to compare to and is itself a complete game (and is thus not overpriced). As long as the other versions for FIFA exist, you can't compare that game to the Switch's FIFA Legacy Editions.

Shame on everyone who agreed with @Silly_G.

Re: Review: Pokémon Puzzle League - A Thrilling Puzzler And A Heavy Nostalgia Hit

Nintendoh

@Silly_G There have already been sequels, they're just without the Pokémon. One of them was even a minigame in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

To be honest I'd rather just see a new entry be based on an actual Nintendo game IP, maybe even crossover of some sort (Super Smash Bros. Puzzle League, anyone?). The Pokémon anime has lost its touch and its vision for a long time now.

Re: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Teases Character News

@link3710 My Life as a Teenage Robot didn't do so well when it aired, and that unfortunately hurts her chances compared to plenty of other Nick characters. Then again, Zim is in the game despite also in a state of great reception but low TV ratings.

@Rykdrew Since you're a fan of traditional fighting games but disliked Brawl and Brawlhalla, I doubt NASB will be any good for you, since the aforementioned games are excellent at what they're intended to do, while NASB is filled with jank that ruins its gameplay.

I think you're just not cut out for platform fighting games. No offense intended, it's just that your heart is set on traditional fighters, and that's okay. Continue playing those if that's what you prefer.
