That's not a reskin, that's a full fledged remake. It's been built from the ground with a modern game engine, and that costs. There's the wages of people working on it, then the marketing and distribution costs, and many other things. It's not like slapping a 20 years old game for €10 on the eshop and calling it a day. On top of that the full price of a modern console game is €70 while these ones cost €60.

@Iacobus If you don't want your child to talk with people online in certain games that's why parental controls exist. No need for ridiculous and overly complicated smartphone app shenanigans

@JaxonH I've read the article and that's still mandatory motion controls, even if just for "small aim adjustments", and not including the option to just use the joystick is unheavenly stupid since it could turn out being quite uncomfortable on tight public spaces like bus or metro. Sorry for having a different opinion than yours.

@Zyph EULAs still can't legally take away your rights, some time ago in Europe Niantic had to revert the ban of some Pokemon GO hackers because they had bought things in the game's shop. This will likely be the case with Switch: if you have bought games from the eshop and make a legal complaint because the ban makes them not accessible, it will be reverted

If a game is under or just slightly above the 10GB threshold I prefer going digital...I'm really not a fan of swapping cartridges every time I want to play another game, and that's what my 256GB micro SD is for

I'm not an engineer so I can't give a detailed answer, but I imagine that if a peripheral that provides power to the Switch is poorly built something may go wrong and fry the Switch's circuits, and there's nothing Nintendo can do to prevent it

@darrendoom The peripherals you plugged into your previous consoles didn't give it power AND transmit the video signal through the same USB-C port. Again, it's not Nintendo's fault by any means if a poorly built peripheral bricks their consoles for some reason, they can't test every NOT licensed peripheral before rolling out an update

@darrendoom How can a dock brick a system? Well maybe it's been built poorly and without consulting Nintendo about specifications. I don't really see why Nintendo should be the one to blame

@NewAdvent Yes, the only time I bought Amiibo for their functionality was to unlock costumes for Link in BotW. I got almost the entire Smash series (only missing the last wave because I missed preorders and still no restock) just because I like having them sitting on my shelf, plus some others (Mario 30th, Splatoon 1st wave, Animal Crossing bought for €3 each)

@luke88 I have been a psplus subscriber for years now because it's mandatory for online play, and I still have to take advantage of it in any way. The free monthly games are very old games I already own or mediocre indie titles I don't have the time and will to play, and the exclusive deals on the ps store are crap since you can easily find the retail version of the same games for less

Doesn't matter, I'm currently so fed up of this game. Yesterday it randomly crashed just before a boss battle and turns out the last time I saved was more than 6 hours before. Was it so nibelsnarfing difficult to implement an auto save function like every other modern game?

Nintendo is stronger than usual here in Italy, I know a lot of people who never gave a sh*t about them and only had PlayStation consoles, but suddenly bought a Switch because they wanted to play Odyssey or Zelda plus they love portability. Nintendo really has something special in their hands with Switch, if they manage to keep this tremendous momentum it might as well become their most successful console ever

Tell me how a news about an Italian indie game coming to Switch makes it to the front page of this website, but not the fact that the Switch has been announced by Nintendo Italy to be their fastest-selling console ever in the country...which I even promptly reported through your contact form
