Re: Random: Super Mario Maker 2 Player Recreates The "Worst Ever" Level 1-1

Nathan

@Ryan_Again For the most part I agree with you. Nintendo couldn't even let us remake the first level in Super Mario World for crying out loud! It sucks. It truly, truly does. I don't give a toss about being able to transition to another game style on the fly. I would prefer all the options per game style, and stick with it till its done. FFS Nintendo...

Re: Review: Super Mario Maker 2 - The Last 2D Mario Game You'll Ever Need

@Jimsbo And that is the fundamental problem with the way they've constructed the game. If every game style was separate, we could have all enemies, objects, AND extras thrown in. Making a quick transition between styles is not worth sacrificing so much. If you can just set out with a style in mind, and stick to it until the level is complete, all would be well. I mean, they have SMM sketchbooks to go with the game, thus suggesting you take your time and think through your design choices. But in game, hey, suddenly prefer another style? Just make a quick transition, and voila, there it is. We could have done without the quick transitioning for superior choices/gameplay experiences.

Re: GameCube Classic Luigi's Mansion Rises From The Grave On 3DS This Year

Nathan

HAHAHAHA! Nintendo keeps taking advantage of fanboy suckers who will buy any recycled game from the past. You would think that they could make a brand new Luigi's Mansion game, right? Or something else like it, but noooooo. The Switch has nothing to recommend it to someone who has or had a Wii U. SMO not withstanding. The only title I was hoping to see in the Direct, a new Animal Crossing for the Switch, has not been forthcoming. Maybe E3 then.

Re: Hardware Review: NES Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System

Nathan

Meh... I'll just stick to using a PC to emulate the entire catalog of NES games. Maybe I'll also buy an adapter to plug in an old NES controller too. F you Nintendo, and your corporate greed. Come on, how many times do they have to resell old games at such high prices? Its ridiculous. I would actually have bought one if it had the entire catalog on the darn thing, but no.

Re: Review: World Driver Championship (N64)

Twas a good game, despite its difficulty and quirks. It felt great to finally unlock the Excalibur. So much difference compared to the previous cars unlocked, let alone against the first ones...

Re: Super Mario Maker Director Shares Details About the Upcoming Update

Nathan

@SnakeBlock
I don't care about swapping themes halfway through, and it is just a fun little concept to begin with. Nintendo have the ability in their studios to make what I talked about. If indie developers can make Super Mario Bros X, then Nintendo could have made something similar, but much better, and in a shorter time period than them. Of course.

Re: Super Mario Maker Updates Set to Continue, Along With More Mystery Mushroom Outfits

As others have said routinely: Slopes, Nintendo, slopes. And angled pipes.
And maybe, just maybe, redo the whole thing to make sure you can just select which Mario game you want to use, and be able to select ALL assets from that particular game to use in your own creations. So, keep the sidebar palettes, but change up the item selection screen to suit the game selection.

But I know this would be too much of a dream to actually have Nintendo do it...
