Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)

Nathan

This game kicks so much arse! Finally able to get back into it again. For those who haven't played it yet, I won't spoil it by revealing everything that I love about the game, but I will add that there does seem to be a tiny amount of sound and framerate glitches at a couple of spots (they don't last long), so far only really been while loading an area... not all areas, so don't be too worried. Other than that, MM is a real treat. Best game on the VC so far. Enjoy!

Re: The End Of The World Starts In Europe

Nathan

@Starfox, all you have to do is basically roll into each kid. There are two in the north of town, there are two in the east, one holding a cuckoo to float down from a building, and the other one in that area is on the top of the stock pot inn. The last one is just outside the post office. Hope that helps.
I've actually got stuck rather soon too, as I forgot how to get my first bottle... oh well, it may come to me. (Thinks to self: Do I win it in a side game...?)

Re: The End Of The World Starts In Europe

Nathan

@VGP, I have never played it on the gamecube, but the VC version seems to have no difference to the original. If only I had them side by side.. But oh yeah, I forgot how great an N64 game can be. It's still hard to tell which game is better... MM or OoT? OoT holds the special place still, because it is set in Hyrule, with the tradtional storyline, and was of course the franchise's first foray into the 3D realm. What can I say? They both hold a very high place in gaming excellence. There, that'll do.

Re: The End Of The World Starts In Europe

Nathan

All right! Finally another N64 title. Come on Nintendo, keep reeling in those big ones...

Anyway, I had this once upon a time, glad it's on the VC now. But darn it, I have to buy more points now, seeing as though I have 900...

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - April 2009

Nathan

Ahh, Majora's Mask. Yep, bought this when it was first released in Australia. Was maybe better than Twilight Princess for me. At least MM had the classic Zelda theme music playing in the field area... The next real Zelda to be released for the Wii better have enough hits of nostalgia, please. Heck, a vastly updated and expanded 'A Link to the Past' in 3D would be good enough...

Re: EU VC Update: ClayFighter and Sonic Chaos

Nathan

SNES version is of course superior. Agree with betagam7.
Yeah, I remember playing it back in the day, but it wasn't much good then either. Claymates on the other hand, was rather enjoyable, as I remember it.

Re: EU VC Update: Mario Golf and Wonder Boy in Monster Land

Nathan

@Pocketim,
I recently got a hold of an Xbox 360 and the first game I played was Banjo-Kazooie after downloading it. My brother used to have it back when it was first released and I didn't get much of a go at it, but yeah, it's a great game to play, even today.

Re: EU VC Releases - NES Halloween Trio

Nathan

Yes indeed ALK, I am not pleased by this turn of Halloween events.. Dracula's Curse would be the pick this week though. That is, if I cared enough about it to download it. Which I don't.

Re: EU VC Releases: Mayhem in Monsterland and More

Nathan

Yeah great... one Space Harrier has arrived in the shop, but since we don't have C64 games in Australia, it is a very disappointing Friday. Of course I was really hoping for SofM today. That one is a must download game.

Re: EU VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels

Nathan

Thanks Nintendo. Although I don't know when I will be downloading SMRPG... I would definitely rather see Secret of Mana or some such thing, but that is out of their power reach at the moment I guess. But, I am glad Mario 2 is out for good this time. I remember that on the SNES All Stars. Was much more difficult than the sooooooooooo easy original. So that makes Mario 2 reasonably hard. Good.

Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today

Nathan

At least it is coming out. I don't really care about a wait though, seeing that Super Smash Bros. Brawl is coming out tomorrow... Finally! Plus, I would rather see an RPG like Chrono Trigger, or Secret of Mana come to the VC sooner.

Re: Talking Point: The State of Play of the Virtual Console

Nathan

I have always been a Nintendo loyalist, and I am grateful for the content that they have provided so far. The VC service was a very exciting prospect for me... being able to play all my lost, sold, and nearly forgotten memories (not to mention many unplayed gems released on other machines) on one console seemed very appealing. And it still is... Give Nintendo a chance, they have been doing well. Although, I have been disappointed with one game releases. However, that would be due to reasons that Damo cited above.

Re: EU VC Releases - 1st February - Adventures of Lolo 2

Nathan

I agree Wedge. This is rubbish Nintendo. If you only release one game next week, make it a good one, that will appeal to the majority of potential buyers... On the other hand, with all the 'seconds' coming through, we should be getting about 5 decent games next week... (yeah right)!

Re: Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels

Nathan

Yeah, I played this game when it came on All Stars. Very difficult game, but that's just one thing that's good about it. You can't exactly fly through this one, like you can on the original.
I just have one problem... I didn't have the money to download it.

Re: Super Metroid

Nathan

Hey, what else can be said about Super Metroid? Definitely one of the best games ever... 5 stars.

Oh yeah, and they (Nintendo) should go back and make another 2D Metroid for the Wii, using only the classic controller of course.
