Re: Random: Here's What Star Wars: The Last Jedi Would Have Looked Like On The SNES

N1ntendodo

Luke Skywalkers sacrifice to do what he had to do was a bit of a melancholy surprise... But, if we remember the Jedi lore beforehand and the fact in the movie that Yoda reminds Luke he has to teach what he has learned in his experience and pass it on and not by some ancient text... Well, lets just say that what a lot of people are not pointing out is the possibility in the next movie where Rey has a GHOST of a chance in her next battles, if you catch my drift.

Re: ARMS Version 5.0 Is The Last Content Update The Game Will Recieve

N1ntendodo

I think ARMS is still too early to be counted out for a sequel yet. Theres still the demand for getting Switches against supply, which we dont know how much is there left, and the fact that the Switch has been bombarded with lots of titles that players have trouble getting into ARMS or any other title, since they have so much on their wishlist. At least, the complete version is out and in full swing, rather than complaining its lacking like Splatoon was in the beginning. Come to think of it, Splatoon did feel a bit shortened when they stopped Splatfests with the final one.

Re: Team Vampire Triumphs in Latest Splatoon 2 Splatfest

N1ntendodo

Yep, 4-0 for me in this set of Splatfests in Splatoon 2. All of my picks were honest choices. Glad Team Vampire managed to edge out in solos while I was kinda expecting for them to win in teams anyway. Glad to represent Dio in this, even though it was a bit rough for me and I just made King status right as it ended. ... WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Re: Mayo Wins in Splatoon 2's Battle of the Condiments

N1ntendodo

I saw this was coming. I chose Mayo because I like Mayo and I knew about the continuation of Splatfest exploits from Splatoon 1, where effort beats popularity from all the skilled players. I would prefer it that way, if a Splatfest topic is dull for me to dont care. To be fair, it was close, despite knowing the system, but you cant keep relying on Marina forever. There will be at least one topic that will make you switch over from Marina. This Splatfest was another example for me. If you want a true rumble of a Splatfest, better hope the popularity count is more... Even sided.

You know what, despite the high scores this game deserves, some are still bickering about the exact scores, so I hereby invoke the power of the name... DUNKEY. There, now your own tastes are all that matters and none enforced upon others. Enjoy the game.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Pokémon Direct and Its Big Reveals?

N1ntendodo

Might I point out that this Direct was necessary... Because I believe this is the only thing we see of Pokemon related news at E3 time. Ergo, that just leaves room for the other announcements in the Nintendo presentation. Cant be helped into the presentation. It was a themed Direct and it totally delivered what it was supposed to do.

Re: Round Up: Yooka-Laylee's Scores Are In, And Critics Appear Divided

N1ntendodo

Bashing for whats to be intended as a revival of an old genre... Idiotic. There could be improvements, yes, but thats not what many have been pushing for these past two years. A revival is what we are after, THEN improvements can be made in the series' future.

Also, not to add to the drama of the recent controversy, but, from a neutral gamer like me who has read beyond the headlines, has it ever occurred to you that Jon and whoever is with Playtonic (at least Grant Kirkhope, given past ties) can still PM each other in the name of their good ties in the past? All this time of this issue, its been nothing but criticizing the official stuff each side presented, but NONE has been said of the outstanding casual ties. I cant say myself if they are continuing that, given the lack of evidence (for now) but others cant argue they stopped ties either. The answer solely lies in both Jontron and Playtonic. If they have been continuing to talk to each other or have been maintaining that ability still, the entire thing is blown upside down and people like NeoGaf cant ever really turn this back around to their favor again. You can stop ties in businesss, but not ties in casual friendship that easily.

All in all, this can be seen as a war between the groups, but not the figureheads.

Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo 3DS, A System That Still Has a Role to Play

N1ntendodo

@RaphaBoss On the contrary, they want to steal the mobile market audience with the Switch. They have to make it as a hybrid, a long term affordable system beating out the likes of PS4 and XBox as their Disney-like brand power and online pricing is concerned. They want to go after families and casuals to get the Switch as the first choice system in light of the invasive mobile era stealing the thunder the old gaming industry once had.

Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo 3DS, A System That Still Has a Role to Play

N1ntendodo

@oatmealwarrior92 Well, to put it cheaply, the PS3 came and did its thing and yet they extended the life of the PS2, then came the PS4. Ergo, it is not the last handheld. Thing is, the critical thing in this comparison is the eras they came from. PS2 had some versions of PS3 titles and a cheap price in its latter days, but thats it. The 3DS though has more juice in it, in the form of new titles coming, DLC, upcoming price drops, to name some. In this era, we can see it last longer as Nintendo's handheld. BESIDES, the 3DS was (and still is) the very thing that came second to combat mobile gaming AND YET it keeps on fighting and attracting people with its titles and stuff. Nintendo dont want to lose that asset just yet, given this much credit. With the Switch being part portable, they are trying to relate to the casuals/children and their families that have their smartphones and tablets to attract more new blood, because we need them, first and foremost, in order to have good impact in the long run. In short, Nintendo is attempting to take back the numbers that made the mobile machine successful. With Nintendo being first to go at the mobile market with its brand power, we can see some impressive things.

Re: Talking Point: Considering the Paid Online Service for the Nintendo Switch

N1ntendodo

@Tsusasi Ok, then allow me to put in another viewpoint. In the current now winding down gen, children/families and casuals with smartphones and tablets likely owned another console to their device collection. What is that console they see first more likely as the best first choice? PS4 or XBone. Now we know all the problems the Wii U suffered despite its brand and first party titles, so we dont have to go over that again. Now, they are the clear winners. BUT NOW, a new console is emerging and its trying to take some steps like Sony and MS did, like the paid online stuff. PLUS, those who owned said consoles are used to them by now amd how they work. So, HOW do they try to be the first thing in their minds when getting their own console?

Well, Nintendo is trying to relate to them more closely. Having a console on the go is a good concept to them, can be sellable. And the subscription price, yes, the price... If they are used to paying subscriptions before OR be willing to pay if you are a first timer, then Nintendo has to have a lower price than whats being offered right now. $40 max, any lower will be a bigger dream to us. Also, if they have the money to pay for an PS4 or XBox1 at launch/first year if they are so confident in the first place, then getting the Switch should be an easy feat. If you have trouble seeing things now, look to the holidays.

Other things to deal with is data management... Its not that humungously hard, really. Just dont do digital at least for the time being. With the way things are, the physical media crowd is going to have a heyday. I mean, none of us dont want to have Zelda digital now... We are going to avoid digital like the plague until better solutions come up. If we do it right, it could be that we can just get more 32 gb SD cards, one at a time and at a good time gap before the next purchase.

Re: Talking Point: Considering the Paid Online Service for the Nintendo Switch

N1ntendodo

Yorumi, gamers like you are whats to be out the door, if Nintendo wants to be successful with the Switch. Besides, I saw what Nintendo is really planning. They are targeting the naive mobile market children and casuals to secure a new, better generation of gamers than the one we already got. If anybody still wants to have their voice at Nintendo's table to make a difference while those people are coming as well, then they better SHUT UP and COEXIST. And thats what Im doing. Really, I look forward to seeing whiny gamers with their political correctness of whats right and wrong out of Nintendo's fold, when all thats left is just the available cards on the table in the big game of business in what they, Nintendo and all the other devs, have to live in, facing against the very thing that overtook console gaming in popularity and trying to claim it as their own. The mobile audience will be ripe for the picking and by the time Sony and MS try to catch up to Nintendo with their versions of the plans to attract the mobile market with their consoles, HUGE DISADVANTAGE FOR THE BOTH OF THEM, because Nintendo's brand power is whatll stand out to the children and families. Integrity? Thats political talk right there and not pushing yourself in reality to make a difference. And I hate politics which are nothing but barks and whines with no self esteem to create and provide their own resources to get what you want or even be creative with less resources. (Ive been on the path of doing more with less stuff, and plenty of surprising good things happen. You should try it.)

Re: Soapbox: The Nintendo Switch's Final Specs Don't Matter

N1ntendodo

Ive known this time and time again. It is something new, because Nintendo has been dealing with a new audience, one that "the elite graphical horsepower hardcore console group" loathes to death, the mobile market audience, the one that kids are given smartphones and tablets over easily than a new console, as studies have shown. Nintendo has first pickings in dealing with this audience and Sony and MS are going to be behind big time once those two start plans to get that audience (and I have seen mention before of those plans, they are getting ready), especially with Nintendo's family friendly brand power.

Anyway, a hybrid console means a hybrid audience. ONE GROUP MUST COEXIST WITH THE OTHER. If anyone still has that elitist-in-hardware mentality like Sony and MS fanboys does, Ill be just as happy to see them out the door, because they wont accept change due to outside influences. The old days as we have known are drawing to a close, because past technological advancements and smartphone/tablet popularity have forced their hands into planning into accepting the mobile market if they want to survive and thrive. If anyone wants to have their voice at Nintendo's table to make a difference, then you better swallow most of your picky opinions down to keep your voice, because its the way things are becoming now with the mobile market as one of us now.

Not to say, the mobile market is a bad thing, of course, because we need tons of new kids to bring out a strong generation of gamers. And the number of children/casuals in the mobile market is ludicrous enough to make that dream possible. It would be great to see the days again, where kids grew up with Nintendo and most will never leave, something reminiscient of the classic Nintendo days, up to N64 era. We can make it happen, and the mobile market has the amount of resources to do it. We, Nintendo and its gamers, just have to really REALLY utilize them to our advantage!

Re: Playtonic Raises the Curtain to Show Off A Lot of Yooka-Laylee Details

N1ntendodo

Yooka Laylee backer here. Looking forward to the Toybox+ and this is a game to look forward to, at least on a spiritual level, on the Wii U as this is a game besides Zelda thats gained great hype and will start back up with this news. Yeah, it will be on other consoles, but seeing this game on Wii U is something to anticipate and will gather attention, given Playtonic's past roots. Really excited! Might as well listen to Grant Kirkhope and David Wise's works in this game once again, folks!

Re: Retail Executives and Analysts Voice Support For Nintendo's NX Release Window and Lack of E3 Showing

N1ntendodo

As far as games the Wii U can still get steam on... Aside from Zelda, there is one title Im reminded of... And I backed it on its Kickstarter... Yooka Laylee. Yeah, it will release on other consoles, but being the spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie, its something intriguing for us Nintendo fans from the late 90s. Also, its interesting to note that its a game that's not from Nintendo, but will step in from outside with a grand anticipated release in October.

Re: Pokémon Sun and Moon Debut Trailer Confirms Starter Pokemon and Release Dates

N1ntendodo

Starters are interesting. They do have personality. As for the Legendaries, very impressive! Now, the Sun Legendary looks like its a pure Fire type, while the Moon Legendary looks like it could be two of these possible types... Psychic or Dark, Flying or Dragon... Or maybe even Fairy? We will see, but it doesn't look like one Legendary will have the type advantage over the other like with Xerneas and Yvetal. Anyway, its because of the potential in the types the Moon Legendary could be that Im leaning towards Moon.
