Re: Soapbox: Bayonetta Deserves to be in Super Smash Bros.

MrWarner14

I hold a belief that any video game character should get the chance to appear in Smash as long as Sakurai's team find a way to make them work as fighters. I also think it's inherently selfish for someone to say a video game character "doesn't deserve" to be in Smash for what I would describe as contrived reasoning.

Also, anyone saying a character is a "waste of a character slot" is absolutely stupid and ridiculous since there was NEVER a set number for the fighter roster. The DLC proved this to be dead wrong.

Like any other character, Bayonetta has great reasons to be in Smash:
1. Her combos allow for creative fighting.
2. She's a unique fighter who is very unconventional but her moves make for a great fighter.
3. Her sequel game (Bayonetta 2) was saved by Nintendo through funding and was made a exclusive on the Wii U.

I know not everyone agrees with the choice but some of the fandom for Smash come off as selfish and very off-putting. If we are trying to make decisions for the creators, then why have Smash Bros. in the first place?

Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: Mother 3 Localisation Rumours, New Splatoon Content Rumours, and More

MrWarner14

As much as I want to believe it, I've been screwed over by rumors so much with Smash, that I just don't know what to believe anymore. It's very easy to fake something like so called "official artwork" and claim it is when it isn't. That's not just cruel but it's spreading misinformation and lies for a cheap laugh.

I also hate that newsites like yours are spreading something that isn't even proven. It makes you look worse and your smugness annoys me.

Re: This Is The Last Real Console Cycle, Proclaims Industry Analyst Michael Pachter

MrWarner14

I did bother reading the article and I still detest Mr. Pachter immensely. The whole idea of games being on consoles is something that won't simply just go away. Sure, it can evolve into something different but I highly doubt consoles will disappear entirely.

The mobile market is already a controversial subject that involves discussions about greed, micro-transactions or even just poor game design. However, while there are some well made games in that market I feel like the mobile gaming scene could use a clean up. While touchscreens have made mobile gaming feel a lot more advanced than any early black and white 2000s cellphone game ever will, I think that focusing on making better touchscreen mobile games over making people go bankrupt is something that should be seriously considered if mobile gaming is to be taken more seriously.

Also, people will want something that fills a want and consoles will fill that want nicely alongside mobile games. If they want something, they'll find the way to get it regardless of what some people like Mr. Pachter think. Not everyone likes the idea of mobile gaming or they just don't want to feel ripped off. Whether it be on the computer, console systems or mobile, there's a niche to be filled for any gamer and I think limiting it to just smartphones is a foolish idea that leaves people with less choices and more dumbing down of the gaming market as well as a rise on greed (micro-transactions) and gaming not being taken as seriously.

I think this should be taken highly into consideration.

Re: Pikmin 4 is "Very Close to Completion", Though Its Platform is Unclear

MrWarner14

@bezerker99
It's fine if you don't like the series but saying "All Pikmin games are really boring'' can easily come off as rather insulting to fans and is a huge generalization anyway.

Also, saying "...and why isn't Nintendo making a spinoff game of this lame series? No, it gets the full game treatment (unlike Animal Crossing)" can come off as extremely rude towards the developers who have great potential to show and all you're doing is hating on them. If you're going to not like something, don't be rude about it (to be brutally honest).

In short, just be careful how you say things.

Swearing also comes off as extremely rude.-Morpheel

"Definitely not going to buy this after Nintendo sent out review copies to YouTube personalities just to bait them all into doing reviews (which, I will remind you, are legally protected by Fair Use and are not a gray area like Let's Play) so they could Content ID/Copyright Strike all the videos."

Isn't it standard for companies to send review copies to reviewers who requested a copy under their permission? Also, I haven't seen video reviews get flagged. Only raw game footage with no commentary over it or editing.

"Screw off Nintendo, you guys are the worst. Worse than Konami, worse than Ubisoft, worse than EA. I don't even know why I still own a Wii U."

No, they aren't. Konami treats their customers, employees and franchises like poopitypoop and takes reviewers to review camps to make reviewers give a rigged review, Ubisoft releases broken games and halts releases for insulting reasons, EA release broken games and the ones that aren't broken have micro-transactions, EA also forces their subsidiaries into shutting down after screwing up releases and has poopitypoopy marketing.

Also, give your Wii U to someone who wants it if you seriously don't want it.

Re: Soapbox: It's A Tragedy That Rare Replay Isn't On A Nintendo Console

MrWarner14

@HollywoodHogan
"Why? Because they fooled you into thinking so?"
It's what people perceive for value. If you're going to make an argument with someone, it's important not to act like the person's somehow stupid for thinking differently.

"I could open a torrent and download the entire NES/SNES library in all of 3-5mins. Every. Single. Game. Ever."
And why should anyone do that? If anything, it's lazy because you KNOW there are ways of buying these older games officially but you don't care because you unintentionally act like everything is entitled to you.

"Paying $5 for a game rom that is 1.3MB in size in absurd."
Don't you mean "IS absurd"? Secondly, it's none of your business what people choose to do with their own money.

"Nintendo would rather sell 10,000 downloads of a NES game at $5 each than sell 2 million downloads at $1, just to show the "value" of their games. It's idiotic."
What the hell are you on about? You act like it's somehow a SCAM that Nintendo's not throwing away games at absurdly low prices. Considering that a lot of games on the Virtual Console either cost too much on places like eBay (like Earthbound) or never made it to other countries at the time of their release, these prices seem reasonable compared to online. Also, I feel dirty having to emulate games I can't own officially either because region locking on a system from a while ago, it wasn't translated officially or I don't have the system for the game. I feel good buying something officially now than ever emulating it. I prefer the real deal over what is basically piracy.

Re: Splatoon Global Testfire Suffers Major Problems in Final Pre-Launch Session

MrWarner14

Today was the only time I got the chance to play the demo. I woke up early for it and got in (yay!) but only got to play the tutorial and mini-game (I liked it) but after an accident with controllers, I couldn't get into due to too many in there. So I gave up and did my routine. Then I tried again and I managed to get in a decent number of matches. I won some, lost some and then it finished. Can't wait for the game!

Re: Introducing The Very First Support Character In Yooka-Laylee, Trowzer The Serpent Salesman

MrWarner14

Day, these kinds of innuendo-style jokes were in PLENTY of family cartoons and games in the 1990s. Stuff that goes over kids' heads and can get a chuckle out of adults who feel amused by a silly little joke that given the name of the game, doesn't surprise me at all but I consider it a bit amusing.

To even imply that the developers are somehow "negatively influencing children" sounds unbelievably embarrassing, given that FAR worse characters have appeared in other video games that are obviously not for the younger crowd. Also, you may have unintentionally implied that kids are stupid and don't learn that fiction is not reality (obviously) given your comment about kids being "negatively influenced" and I think this is rather insulting given you're lack of faith in younger people being a lot smarter than you may realize and can do great things (and HAVE too!).

Also, MadAdam81, people have their own preferences. Let them have them. If you don't like it, fine but to imply people are somehow wrong because you don't like what's shown (the comment saying it doesn't have charm) makes you sound (unintentionally) arrogant. Also, they named the game Yooka-Laylee. It's intentional.
