My desire to play is definitely soured by Tencent's involvement. Simply removing their name from it entirely would make the game look 10x better.

Get why people are disappointed it wasn't something bigger than this, the way the presentation was announced definitely suggested so. Although I do find it funny how people complaining about the lack of a mainline game or remake are a lot of the same people lambasting Game Freak for short development time on SwSh

Even then, GF have no involvement in this game, so idk why they're getting hate from some for this.

It looks ok, can't say i personally expected another mainline game, although I did expect something a little more.Might give it a try when it releases.

Still would have probably hurt less to those expecting a mainline game if it was revealed last week though. Calling it a "big project" was probably because of Tencent's involvement but that could have been re-worded to not excite everyone wanting something bigger.

I'll never remember this in the future, it was just fine, so I'm going to get on with my life.

If this is true, hopefully more time can be put into improving the Switch online app than making new mobile games

Not sure about this now, Gamexplain gave it a "dislike" but this review says otherwise. Maybe I'll pick it up when I buy myself an Xbox.

Eh, I'm definitely a little disappointed and I probably won't pick it up, but Byleth does look like quite a lot of fun and seems fairly unique. The stage looks pretty good too.

The real problem here was the planning. A lot of people thought the pass would end in a big way but it was strange to finish it with Byleth, another Fire Emblem character. I think more people would have accepted it if it was Fighter 1 or 2.

Never cared about dexit but some of the more glaring issues with the game, such as a lot of the rough animations, need to be addressed.
That said, people were ready with their pitchforks for Game Freak but the Pokemon Company are the real problem here. The yearly release window has worked for them every year prior but this time it meant they had to rush a transition to newer hardware. For things to change, PC need to give GF more time.
Also, please stop attacking people for buying a game. Even if you think that its mediocre, it doesn't stop other people from enjoying it. I, for one, think it looks like a fun, if flawed, game and i intend to pick it up soon.

Despite being miffed at Game Freak for lying about the models, feeling slightly disappointed about the lack of ambition shown by them in several areas and being annoyed with how rough some graphics and animations are, I'll probably pick this up anyway. I think Game Freak definitely have something to learn from their PR disaster but I'm sure they'll be fine games. The new pokemon designs look great and I think the locales look interesting too. Dexit doesn't bother me that much anyway, I love all pokemon and I'm fine with using ones that I'm unfamiliar with, although it still is a bit of a shame I cant have my whole team back. Either way though, the games still look fun as hell imo. I'm absolutely fine if you disagree and I can understand why you might.

Miiverse's closure certainly feels like the end of an era. I will miss it a lot because it added more soul to the games using it. Being a member of it felt like being a part of the Nintendo community, and the fact that a number of developers such as Masahiro Sakurai used it to bring game news made the community even stronger. Miiverse can be seen as a definition of an era where Nintendo had taken a misstep with the Wii U but were also trying to understand the modern gaming community after the Wii, which was strongly aimed at casual gamers.

Also the increasingly irrelevance of Miis is sad. My first Nintendo home console was the Wii and the inclusion of Miis was a joy, being able to see me, family, friends and celebrities in fun and different situations that wouldn't be possible elsewhere. Therefore, I hope Nintendo continue to use Miis long into the future.

We know that this'll be a good game (if the PSS returns and replaces Festival Plaza, I'll be happy.) It's just worth wondering about how different it is to the original games. If so, I might skip this. Being honest, I still haven't finished the original yet. If this takes the BW2 route and isn't too kiddy (which the original games, in my opinion are), then I'm sold.

I'm definitely getting Pokken DX though😀

Note: when I say that the originals were too kiddy, I don't mean to have a dark and gritty game. That would be cool, but wouldn't exactly fit the franchise.

@MrHero Yeah, like in the first Lego Marvel, where the X-Men and FF had a prominent part. For me, it's no X-Men, no buy.

@TruthfulVoice Through one game? Surely not. We'd known about this for ages before now. E3 will be full of surprises.

Being honest, I would have preferred to have had other Mario characters (Wario, Daisy, Waluigi, etc) other than the Rabbids and cast them as villains instead.

However, its too early to judge. I'm waiting for E3 to see more of this. Nobody can deny that this looks interesting. Maybe this could be good, it has some potential.

@WaveBoy I'd prefer a completely new entry with all past characters (possibly excluding Pichu) returning and a massive number of newcomers. And Subspace 2.

I reckon Eggman would be a solid character. Otherwise, I've got fingers crossed for James Bond, as unlikely as that will be (Sakurai considered him for Melee so why not? :/)

As unlikely as it is, I hope there is a mode more along the lines of Subspace, which I enjoyed thoroughly.
I'll be in total dismay if the characters from Brawl (Snake especially) don't return, as well as Ice Climbers.

I just hope this doesn't get completely MCU-ified like Lego Avengers did. The X-Men and FF deserve appearances. What I loved about the original game was, despite the character rights issues with Fox, it still managed to include X-Men and it made the in-game open world feel more complete.

Man, I wish we got this stuff in the UK. I wish we could learn more about the characters themselves, maybe in a Wario's Warehouse-esque way.

Miitopia plz. Or at least another Tomodachi title. Then I can breathe again. Even something like 'Switch Sports', idk. I'm clenching copies of Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit and Wii Music right now - its just one franchise I'm not ready to say goodbye to.

Meanwhile, while everyone is wondering about Detective Pikachu, I can't see it happening. At all. I mean, the game only features pokémon up to gen 6, so it seems very late for it to come out outside Japan now.

Being honest, I liked the idea of the game, since I enjoyed Banjo, but I never expected it to be that acclaimed at all. From the YouTube clips, the game looked charming enough but for me, it seemed lacking in character and seemed very slow paced. Still, I might pick this up anyway on Switch. Will watch the GameXplain review as well, to help with my decision

@Chandlero As I said, they aren't helping themselves through this. Animal cruelty is a major issue in the world, I agree. When they go to such extents though, as PETA have, it doesn't help their public image at all - it appears that they are just trying to cause a stir (if that is so, I could, in theory, say we are all victims of it, and that they've succeeded there) but they probably aren't. Diversity is a common theme at this time, with many cultures and sub cultures becoming more noticed. But the way PETA are doing it doesn't help the image of them and many other vegans.

PETA are not doing themselves any favours, especially with their failed past stints e.g. Mario 3d World, Pokémon, Cooking Mama, etc. These are the people who fought to change the name of Hamburg to Veggieburg. Vegan culture has become a lot more noticed in modern times but like all things, there are people like this who take this sort of stuff to the extreme. And from what I have heard (not that I'm saying it is true) they themselves treat animals with incredible cruelty. As I can see from the comments above, milking is important for a cow, so what do PETA know? Nintendo have every right to ignore this, as they have done before.

While my friend is a Pokémon fanatic, I've yet to complete Moon, unlike him, instead spending lots of time with Wii and Wii U games before the Switch enters the house. Pokémon was the first Nintendo franchise that I ever got into (through a 2008 annual I found at a school car boot sell) and I really want to complete the game like him but I'm spending much more time with the Wii U. My sister hogs the DS with her New Style Boutique game, which is off putting. It feels like it's hers and not mine now! And when I get a Switch, I have 3 consoles to juggle my time between!

I've yet to get one, despite my hype so I'm sold with this. Good luck to everyone!

I still don't know how Nintendo haven't discovered this game that is continually advertised on YouTube. It's called Wow Monster and is on the Google Play Store for free. Have a look. From the adverts and screenshots I've seen, it uses all the same names, sprites, monsters, characters and music as the Pokemon games. Shameless!

A last-minute presentation would help a lot, but if Nintendo don't say anything, at least hiphop did them a favour. People might not have found out if it wasn't for him. And we don't want another Wii U.

We can see hiphop lied though, because I doubted he'd get away in the end. On the Internet, news spreads fast and it was stupid of him to upload the videos to the Internet.

Also, the employees of the distributer were idiots to think they'd get away with stealing several Switches and illegally selling one.

But what distributor was it that the employees came from? That's what crosses my mind. If it was a major one in the business, then they've done a bad job of concealing the Switches. These were just random employees who stole the consoled, not like a master thief. Of course I don't know the full story but otherwise, either it's a bad business, the Switches weren't hidden well enough or these people are just smart. Yet somewhere, a Switch was illegally sold, no problem. If so, if this is able to happen so easily, how are these businesses allowed to keep going? And how has hiphop not gotten into trouble for this yet? He must have bought the Switch himself and he would know where it was from.
Just a thought.

Nintendo could see this as a compliment (not that it was right to steal and not that they will) because of the hype. If people are doing stuff like this, I believe the Switch will sell better than Wii U. Look at the reaction at the Super Bowl for starters.

However, @PlywoodStick, I agree that they still need to show more info on the Switch. This is stuff the consumers should know before they buy it.

I should point out that Xbox controllers were sold for around £90 at launch.

I'm just waiting for a last-minute direct or something on their YouTube for the final details. Being honest, this guy has helped the Switch a lot. Before and at the launch of the Wii U, there were so many questions left unanswered. Thanks to this guy, though, we know a lot more about how the Switch operates. If Nintendo doesn't do a direct, etc, although there will still be several unanswered questions (e.g e-Shop), most of them have been answered through the 'leaks'. We, as Nintendo fans, want the Switch's success to match/come close to the original Wii. To stop it from being another Wii U, we needed more details that weren't covered in last month's presentation. And this guy has done them a favour.

I should note that my only concern is how well the 'leaks' will spread, considering he was using a lesser known video site.

Just wondering if Smash will be playable with one joy-con.

I should note that I miss the Wii series of games dearly. I hope they make 'Switch Sports' or something and implement Miis a little further.

@paulw101 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe looks to be adding nothing new but Battle Mode and a few new characters. I hope it gets DLC later - some of the characters in Wii were superior to the choices in 8. Pink Gold Peach? Come on. Characters like her should just be made alternate costumes for existing ones.

Mario Kart means a lot to me - It's the definitive multiplayer experience for me, but Battle Mode as the main selling point is a bad decision.

I want discounts on Mario Kart 8 and my Virtual Console games. It's unfair having to pay the same price for something I have already. I play this stuff tons with family and friends.

Hope you can keep multiple miis. I loved their use on Wii and Wii U games.

I'm only getting this if they reveal more tracks etc later. Right now, all I see is the same game from my Wii U but with a couple more characters and a proper Battle Mode.

I first learnt of Mother 3 from Smash Bros Brawl's New Pork City stage. I've never played Earthbound properly but Mother 3 has always caught my attention much more. Apparently it's better, too.

I'd be happy with the inclusion of more DS, Wii and GC tracks.
