After the recent articles about how much Nintendo spoke to suppliers about bringing the cost of the device down as much as possible, it's not really surpising they wouldn't leave in hardware that wasn't going to be used, legitimately anway.

Smyths disptahced my LE yesterday via Hermes and arrived today.

What is it with third party controllers for the Switch? I see endless colour variations of PS4 and XB1 controllers but they're always official. Every other week I read about a new third party Switch controller. I'm happy with my pro controller thanks.

It's not just that these games don't sell well because only a few people stumble upon them. It's because when people do find them, they don't want to dish out £10+ for a game they've never heard of. If it goes on sale for £1, people will buy it.

@Spoony_Tech I'm guessing the problem may be that unless you have it pre-ordered, you may turn up at Walmart at opening time on release day to find them already sold out and left wondering how that's possible.

Also why do the amiibo pictured have the Japanese names printed on them?

@sanderev It’s a bit presumptuous to say that if Nintendo wanted Shonen Jump characters, that it would happen. I’m sure ShoJo would have to agree to it too. My point was that they have their own games that would then be redundant. But then again maybe not, when a single character from a franchise is included, such as Cloud, it doesn’t make Smash the ultimate fighting game for Final Fantasy fans, that’s where Dissidia comes in.

Maybe Shonen Jump want people to buy Jump Force instead of licensing their characters to Nintendo.

I totally get why they made the 2DS, I've never used the 3D mode on my 3DSXL but I've had to pay for a device with that feature. This isn't like that. It's more like when the PS3 was released at a high price and didn't sell that well until they took out PS2 compatability (plus other things I'm assuming?) to be able to sell at a lower price. Manufacturers don't make money on consoles, wouldn't be suprised if they lost money, but make it back on games and licensing. But when it's only £50 cheaper, that makes no sense.

Can I scan it without taking it out of it's box?

Nintendo consoles have been underpowered compared the equivalent Sony and Microsoft consoles for a few generations. The only thing Nintendo has had over them is their innovative ways of playing. However, the only innovative thing about the switch is that you can play a game that is out on the Xbox One or PS4, but in handheld mode. That's it. As soon as the new PS and Xbox come out and the Switch can't play the same games, it's just going to be us Nintendo fan boys playing on the Switch.

Man, the guy at 1:56 looks uncomfortable playing those long FE sessions in handheld mode. Queue dropping the switch on his face when he falls asleep mid-game. I'll stick to the standard switch thanks.

This will have to wait for me, I've got Link to the Past LE + Amiibo, Catherine Full Body LE, plus Snake, Squirtle and Ivysaur amiibos this month. The LE of this didn't grab me, even a steelbook would have swung it. So with going with the standard edition, I didn't need to pick it up on day 1, especially as I'm still going through FE.

The game was made by Ubisoft Leamington who I applied for a position with many years ago when they were Free Style Games. Safe to say I never accepted the position. At the time they had just released Sing Party on the Wii U which flopped and in there own words were like "It's a singing game, what did people expect".

Does anyone else think, with the Switch Lite and Link's Awakening coming out on the same day, they've missed a potential LE Zelda Switch Lite?

I think this mainly applies to couples when one is a gamer, and the other isn't. I play Mario Kart with my other half, it's preferable to Just Dance. Friends with gamer girlfriends/wifes/etc play MMO's or FPS's together.

Is there going to be a docked only Switch for people like myself who don't use handheld or tabletop mode? That comes with a pro controller instead of joy cons, built in wired network connection, a no touchscreen?

Does NL get commision when we click on those Amazon links? The Fire Emblem LE is £20 cheaper literally everywhere else...

Maybe if they’d released a collectors edition of Q2 in Europe they’d have made some more money too.

The headline and article sound different. The article could be interpreted as Sony can’t compete with Nintendo rather than saying they don’t see them as a threat, evidence being Sony exiting the handheld market.

PS/XB good for CoD.and BF, Nintendo good for everything else IMO.

I lost count how many times I was given games on PS Plus that I already had. At least there's no risk of that with Nintendo.

It seems to me like Nintendo and all media outlets are ignoring that the Zodiac job system was introduced for the PS4 (and even on a PS2 version in Japan), and are talking about it being a brand new thing for this release? Or am I missing something?

Would have been nice to see the packaging, or am I to assume there was none? Unless it's claiming to be an official controller, I don't think these can count as bootleg...

It's so obvious P5 is coming out on Switch. The real question is, presuming every fan already has it on PS4, just like FFX and XII, is anyone actually going to buy it just for the novelty of playing it on the bus?

I played Melee to death until I got every trophy. Ever since online multiplayer was introduced in the series, I stook to 1 v 1 which I inevitably got bored with on each release.

According to Nintendo UK Store customer service, this doesn't affect the Collectors Edition with the adapter bundled with it.
