Re: Nintendo Aware Of Crash Error "Near The End" Of Metroid Dread, Says It's Working On A Fix

Kidfunkadelic83

@PortuGuy as i said above, id love to see a boss rush mode. I enjoyed facing Kraid and like you i died a bit. Would be awsome to be able to replay bosses as you like. The only one ive fought multiple times is the end boss due to the game saving just before the battle. I can now beat him untouched which is kinda cool. Id like to be able to do the same with the others.

Re: Limited Run Reveals Its Physical Version Of Crysis 2 Remastered For Switch

Kidfunkadelic83

This is confusing me, which to be fair isnt really hard. I thought each game was being released in seperate physical form to retail stores. So weve got the 1st available to us physically but 2 and 3 are locked behind LRG. Thats me out if im reading that right. I will forfeit portable and get them on ps4. This would have been a nice trilogy to have owned physically without having to wait until im 90 to receive.

100% the game on normal the other day at 15 hours 23mins with no issues. I didnt know these bugs existed. Personally i can kinda get behind the EMMI being a tad frustrating. The blue one being the worst. I did die quite a bit but it didnt take long to learn what to do and where to go to avoid detection. It would have been alot worse if you were put back to a save room after every encounter. You never need to be in an EMMI room for more than a couple of minutes. The EMMI counter wasnt really an issue for me either. Sometimes i would nail 2 counters in a row, sometimes none. Sometimes frustrating but they arnt supposed to be easy. They are supposed to be absolute killing machines that you have little to no hope of survival against and i dont see that as cheap or padding and had a great sence of achievement once i took one down and could freely explore. Boss wise i found the 2 guardians together the hardest part of the game by far. Having to avoid 2 enemy attack at the same time did see me die a good few times but the lack of having to retread old ground upon dying helped alot. Id like to see a boss rush mode introduced to freely battle some of the better ones and hone my skills. After reloading my save i can now beat the final boss taking 0 damage. Overall as its the 2nd Metroid ive ever completed (zero missions back in the day being the first) and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Re: Exp. Share Supposedly Can't Be Turned Off In The Pokémon Diamond And Pearl Remakes

Kidfunkadelic83

I wont be buying this Pokemon game. Ive purchased the last couole on switch and have always been left with a same old same old taste in my mouth afterwards. Albeit these newer games are a cake walk. By the time you get to the gym youve naturally over levelled and left with no challenge. Cmon, these gym leaders are supposed to be tough but instead they are no harder than steve, standing in the middle of a field who you battled with 5 minutes earlier.

Re: This Metroid Dread Boss Fight Trick Shows The Devs Knew You'd Break The Game

Kidfunkadelic83

Im up to the final boss and so far my time with dread has surprised me. Ive only ever beat fusion previously and am not a fan of the genre really. I really like the layout of the map and the different terrains on show and the EMMI add that bit of suspense . The majority of the bosses were great with Kraid and the big lizard guarding the burner being my favorite (chozo guards not so much) only issues ive not been so keen on are the quick time events during boss battles and having to find the sweet spot area for the faster EMMI later in the game. Its bad enough just getting past them let alone trying to work out where they have to be lured to give you enough time to charge your cannon. Also im not keen on the layout of the lifts hsving to go from here to here to here just to get to here. Overall ive enjoyed it alot going in to the game with no expectation. I wasnt even getting it 2 days before launch.

Re: Metroid Dread's UK Sales Momentum Points To A Big Moment For The Series

Kidfunkadelic83

Im almost through to the end now i think. Its a maze of a map with alot going on. Use your map markers to highlight certain spots as you pass them. Also if you press Y on the map screen you can hilight all of a particular thing, like all plasma doors, all grapple points etc. Comes in handy when your stuck and have just got a new addition to your arsenal. Im not shy to confess ive used a walkthrough for a couple of bits as i was also lost and didnt know where to go. Love the game tho and look forward to a speed run afterwards to try better my time.

Re: UK Charts: Metroid Dread Just Had The Strongest Opening Week Of Any Metroid Game Ever

Kidfunkadelic83

Dread is a fantastic game. I wasnt sold on it to start with but after a few hours in im loving it. I think the thing with metroid is you either know you want it or know its not going to be for you. Its part and parcel of the genre. Mario is always going to sell well as it appeals to a broader spectrum of ages. I cant see many parents buying dread for the kids to play, can you. Zelda is just zelda. Always gonna sell.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 9th)

Kidfunkadelic83

Got Dread and Monkey ball yesterday so i will be dipping in to both. About 3 hours in to metroid and its enjoyable. Do i love it tho... No,not yet. Ive always had this issue with metroidvanias. Get stuck, dont know where im going then give up. Also about 2/3 of the way through Bayonetta 2. Far, far superior to the origional which to the end i felt out stayed its welcome.

Re: Review: Tetris Effect: Connected - Mizuguchi's Masterpiece Finds Its Ideal Platform

Kidfunkadelic83

@Bret i agree. Whilst this version may be fantastic they VR version is out of this world. I remember the first time i played it and the dolphin background came on. I literally stopped playing and just watched with my mouth open. But then again, you lose that portability factor.
My problem is im just crap at tetris. Sure i can play the game and clear 100 lines easy enough but when it comes to all those daft T-spins etc, i just cant get to grips with it. Thats why i sold 99. I could never win a match as there were far more superior players in every single game and it just annoyed me as i felt i was getting no better from being stuck in my tetris ways from many years back on the GB.

Re: Poll: Metroid Dread Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

Kidfunkadelic83

Didnt pre order, no hype for the game at all, not interested in the slightest... Soooo naturally went and picked it up this morning 😂. £40 from argos along with an un expected purchase of monkey ball. Damn, i hate it when i accidentally search for something on there website, add it to my cart, add my credit card details and confirm the purchase 😂😜. Banging headach when i got back from town tho so didn't start it. 3 tablets later and a little afternoon nanny nap and im all set to start it in an hour or so. As someone that doesnt mind the idea of a metroidvania style game but has never completed one, im looking forward to it.
Anyone want to add me, my friend code is in my bio. Happy gaming everyone and enjoy the upcoming weekend.

Re: Japanese Charts: FIFA 22's Legacy Edition Is Switch's Best-Seller Of The Week

Kidfunkadelic83

Good to see Lost Judgment up there. Not so good to see that cookie cutter crap take the top spot tho.
Got to also remember that the majority of people buying Fifa on the switch probarbly dont know what Legacy edition even entails. Not everyone reads Nintendo life or other gaming media and pressure from kids to get the latest game etc. Legacy edition... Almost makes it sound like some sort of special edition of the game. Very clever. Personally i think it should be called watered down dumb f**k edition.

Re: Video: Why Didn't Square Enix Port The Kingdom Hearts Collection To Switch?

Kidfunkadelic83

@Anti-Matter "Better solution = Get the games on PS4 version and it saves your day."

Easy for you to say when you (and me) own a PS4. For some people the switch is their only way to game. Also, good luck playing that PS4 on the bus, train, whatever. Also another major reason some people would have chosen to buy the switch.

What shocks me more is that Nintendo even allow cloud based gaming to be a thing on the hybrid home/portable device. It makes a mockery of the the latter and more to the point, us. Should simply be a case of "if our customers cant play it without being connected to a data connection then it cant be on switch" thats just my view on the matter tho and i cant imagine many really care about that.

Re: Buy Smash Bros. Ultimate Or Any Of Its DLC And Earn Double My Nintendo Gold Points

Kidfunkadelic83

I owned Smash when it first came out but didnt get on with it due to my lack of skill (usually pretty good at conventional beat em ups) and i couldnt get on with moving around the maps and the items etc. I guess it just didnt click. Ive been thinking about getting it back for a while tho as my daughter quite liked it. The collector in me would still go physical tho i think.
