Seems to me, with all these limited time retro games only being available until March, Nintendo is planning some kind of retro game program outside of S/NES online for next year.
The game is obviously, and rightly, inspired by BtoW, but it doesn't look like it plays even remotely the same. How anyone could possibly be complaining is beyond me. All i have wanted since I finished BotW is another game that is even close to what BotW is. It is my sincerest hope that we get another half dozen games that take this much inspiration from BotW.
@nhSnork Drives me crazy that there are people out there who think Nintendo would be, even remotely, offended by someone cloning their game. Regardless of the fact that this game is clearly not a BotW clone if you watch the gameplay trailers.
Nintendo has actively encourage other developers to copy their style. They genuinely believe they make a better type of game. The developers of Little Dew, a Zelda clone in every possible way, actually pitched the game to Nintendo as a Zelda game. Nintendo told them they love the game and the developer should finish it and release it and that it didn't need to be Zelda.
@Blizzia Nobody is asking the person who invented Baseball or Football or Soccer or Hockey or Olympic Wrestling to pay them because they got good at it.
They created a league and got sponsors and advertising and sold tickets.
Demanding the creator of your sport pay you because you got good at it does make you a man-baby or the female equivalent, whatever that is.
Expecting the company that created a game to cough up prize money because you got good at playing it should be what he finds embarrassing.
If eSports were a real and respectable sport, they would be able to generate the prize money at a league level, just like every other sport. The fact that they can't speaks volumes about their legitimacy.
Maybe Blizzard, Epic and everyone else should stop artificially inflating the value of esports, find some advertising sponsors and sell some tickets.
I'm sorry, but when if ever has Nintendo made a game that would be remotely controversial in China? They arent going to start cowing to government because there is nothing to censor. I think people are mistaking Nintendo for the third party publishers who might want to get in on this. Basically every Nintendo game ever made could pass Chinese Cert as is.
A lifetime ban seems a bit excessive here. Seems like Epic is trying to make an example of him. They could have just deleted his account and made him start over or something. I don't even like cheating in offline games, but they're basically destroying his life for an offense that any other sport would give a 3 game suspension.
I'd say a 6/10 game is more than worth two cents. I don't think there is really anything wrong with this kind of sales tactic. Sometimes a game like this can really find an audience when people don't have to second guess the purchase. More often than not, I'd bet this tactic is more about getting notoriety for the developer than to trick people into buy the game at full price later.
That is not joy-con drift. You don't delicately tap your joystick barely a milometer to demonstrate joy-con drift. Person probably put something in the Switch to make the Stick get stuck slightly off center.
@Shambo Sadly, its the only way to get it because the organization that stripped him of his records without evidence also blackballed him. The only recourse he has is to sue.
It really bothers me how much people like to trash Billy Mitchel because of some definitively inconclusive evidence that was provided by some random people on the internet. It really doesn't matter what his personality is.
Seriously, if someone tried to take away the most important achievement of my life, I would spend every waking moment and use every available resource trying to get it back. It really is unfair that they didn't even let him defend himself or provide exonerating evidence. It's even worse that they don't even have the Original Documentation to review. It awful convenient to "lose" a critically important piece of evidence and then decide to destroy a persons career without a second thought anyway.
"It's just a game" is not a fair assessment. This is a Guinness Book of World Records Title that was stripped from him. That matters to people well beyond the scope of gaming.
@Wilforce Fornite and Paladins proven that a Console Game ported to Mobile can still monetize a console marketing scheme for a competitive multiplayer game. Most likely because its Mobile player base is the same as its Console Player base.
@Wilforce Unfortunately, those games need to compete in the real Mobile Space and games that don't have endless content purchases die fast in mobile. They need to keep those games alive long enough to keep those teams running to create more mobile titles.
This is more than likely a one off Kirby Game in the Style of Pokemon Quest. It will probably never see any significant content updates.
"Not only did Sega double the lineup of games on the Genesis Mini versus the number packed into the SNES Classic but depending on who you ask, it also outperforms due to the quality of its titles."
Anyone who tries to tells you that this collection of Sega Games is superior to the SNES Classics Library is on drugs. The SNES Classic has the greatest collection of games ever assembled in a single product without, even remotely close, competition.
This Genesis Mini would have to have every Genesis Game on it to claim it has a better library than the SNES Classic and even then it would only be winning on Quantity.
To be clear, I love the Genesis and it has some great games, but half of the games on the SNES Mini are better than every game on the Genesis.
@JayJ With all due respect, there is a big difference between fanboys rallying around a game they blindly love and calling out a factually inaccurate, spoiler filled, outlier of a review, that also happens to be the only review associated with an entire console, the lowest reviewed score the game recieved and from a widely known, if not respectable, news site for that particular console.
It's fine to be critical of a game, but you have to be accurate, and preferably respectful to your readers, at the very least.
I also feel the need to call out this Reviewer for not mentioning the fact that this game has one of, if not, the best sound tracks in the entire Final Fantasy Series and arguably all of video games.
@MrGawain Can't speak to all reviews on the internet, but this one in particular reads like someone who fell in love with Final Fantasy VII then didn't like that VIII was different and then wrote a review based on their 20 year old memories.
@Moroboshi876 The game doesn't have a dull combat system. The reviewer made a ridiculous statement in saying that the Junction Systems pushes you away from using magic and forces you into repetitive gameplay.
You start this game being able to junction one spell out of the hundred or so spells in the game. By the end of the game you can junction about 16.
Regardless, if you spammed a junctioned spell through your fights, the impact on your stats would be modest to insignificant and then you can just refill them when you feel like its getting noticeable. You can pull 15 to 20 spells per draw most of the time and the game is specifically designed to let you refill your magic easily without having to use the draw mechanic.
@Tao If this issue was as pervasive as people want you to believe it is, Nintendo would have done something about it, like they always do. That's why the pro controller has already had a revision. If you do happen to break your Joycon, Nintendo will repair or replace them. Controllers break, it happens all the time. There is no need to boycott the Switch lite because some peoples joy-cons break.
Yeah! Don't buy the Switch lite. Nintendo's storied history of releasing broken unusable hardware that doesn't last over time should be a dire warning to us all. You can't trust Nintendo to put out a quality product. They absolutely would never make improvements to an iteration on recent hardware. If you buy into the Switch lite its you're own fault for trusting a companies with such a deep well of consistently failing hardware products that certainly don't remain functional for decades.
I was 100% going to buy Dragons Dogma because it looks like a game I would enjoy, but these kinds of comments make me not want to buy it just to spite them.
@SuperCharlie78 PS4 will definitely break 100M sales, but its not likely going much higher than that. PS4 will be dead in the water when the PS5 is announced. It doesn't have the Non-gaming Appeal of the PS2 necessary to keep pushing it after it's successor is on the market.
You can't force your way into the Console market on Powerful Specs alone. Slightly Mad would need to develop twelve games to launch with and pull major third party support. Never gonna happen.
@Peterjr1 You can. It's very easy to focus group something like that. You can also tell easily by looking at your fans and realizing only two or three of your male characters are half as popular as your female characters. You don't need to make a game to know it wont sell.
But like I said. It is not on current developers to make games that people are complaining don't exist. It is on the people who are complaining to make those games and prove the market.
lol I love how people bash these games' "bad gameplay". I can't imagine the volley ball has gotten less well made since the first game, which had fantastic, if not the best, volley ball gameplay in any game.
I guess it's fair game to call these games out as sexist, even though its technically not. Not having sexualized characters of both genders is not sexist. The game in no way attempts to disparage women. It's just a cheap marketing gimmick that DOA has been using since the first DOA came out.
People really need to learn that it's okay to make fantasies. Just because no one is currently making your personal fantasy doesn't make their fantasy a less valid pursuit. You could always, I dunno, learn to make video games? If there was a market for DOA Extreme Beach Men's Volleyball, I guarantee you it would be made.

Has anyone actually played the game yet? Is it any good?
I hope it's good. The world is in desperate need of more BotW-likes.
Perhaps we can call them Breathvanias and give some undeserved credit to Castlevania again.

Re: PQube Details New Features In Cat Quest II, A Co-Op Open-World RPG Coming To Switch
@Chunkboi79 The first game is fun and addicting but overly repetitive. Co-Op and more diverse content/gear would help.
