Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Defends Nintendo's Production Of Remakes

KatiaManagan

@Olliemar28 Are they though? I wouldn't call Nintendo sequels new games like most here would.
Splatoon 3, Raiders, Tomodachi, Rhythm Heaven, Mario Kart, Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime, AC, Pokemon, golf, tennis... these are all just iterations. Altered remakes. It's 90% of what the company is now. Most here love that but there's no true innovation left in the company, imo. Unless you count all the toys and non-game related fluff they hawk like the worst of corporate consumerism.

Believe it or not, I love my Switch but the games on it that truly push the pastime forward are the Spires, Sektoris, Blue Princes, etc. Nintendo is a perpetual time machine. Comfort food for the masses.

If you're into that, enjoy. But there's plenty of room for criticism from others who want it to be better.

Re: Opinion: Mario Kart World Deserves Its Flowers, So Let's Stop Comparing It To MK8 Deluxe

KatiaManagan

For me, it seems almost everything done by Nintendo now is underbaked and quickly abandoned in order to market some other flashy sugar-burst game that has no depth.

And this at the same time they're raising prices on everything? MKW is $80! And in five years, if you still own it, you can buy the dlc for another $30. Also pay for online.

With all that context you're damn right I'm going to compare it to cheaper, (some say)better games that came before it.

Re: Ninjala Season 2 And 3 To Add New Stages, Weapons, Spectator Mode And More

KatiaManagan

@Paraka
Literally?!!
What matters are good games. What makes you think Ninjala matters? Is it the amount of attention this site is giving it maybe?

Just in this past week, NL has given a better review to five seperate games than the one they gave Ninjala.
So why so much attention to Ninjala? Hmmm.

Those games are Colt Canyon, Missle Dancer, Urban Flow, Trials of Cold Steel III, and Mr. Driller: DrillLand.
If you're interested.

@GameOtaku "A physical game will last longer..."

Neither of us will know the truth but I will guarantee that you're wrong anyway lol.

I had an NES growing up and treated my Zelda cart like the gold it was made to look like. And then I couldn't believe that emulation was a thing, that I could play Zelda without a cartridge.
And now I know that the game will always be available to play long after the last physical golden cart has been sold for a million dollars and then accidentally stepped on.

Just like you can play anything worth a damn right now that was made 40 years ago, you'll be able to do the same in 40 years from now, and at a much smaller comparative storage size. I just saw an article here that said every N64 game would fit on one Switch cartridge. Maybe you have to be older to appreciate it, but that's the way this works.

Physical carts to me are nothing more than something to lose, step on, lug around, or have the dog eat. Meanwhile, I can take 100 digital games with me anywhere, to play with or without an internet connection. I get the emotional collector's appeal, but that's like collecting baseball cards for me, a kids romance.

Re: PETA Isn't Happy With Animal Crossing's Blathers, Or His Fish-Trapping Museum

@KillerBOB

You're absolutely correct. This post is 100 percent troll bait. And look at all the ac fans with their pitchforks out.

This is obviously another ridiculous peta gag and they've done some stupid things through the years, but Damien McFerran is just as gross for inciting all the hate we're reading right now.

Pissing people off to get attention is a big part of the world's problem right now, and it doesn't matter who's doing it.

Sorry to interrupt, everyone can carry on raging now.
