Meh. If someone sucks to the point where they can't hop back and forth correctly I doubt they're much of a threat to me in the first place. Unfortunate that this skews things more towards luck, but I'll probably play more battle mode than races anyway.
The fact that they're unwilling to reveal this thing in tandem with the PS4K and updated Xbox, plus the fact that they're emphasizing a potential gimmick once again, makes me think it's going to be weaker than the current gen consoles. If it was truly a game changer they'd reveal it at E3 and blow the other two out of the water.
I have to be honest, I've never been this close to just giving up on Nintendo. If nothing changes in the next few months I'll just buy a PS4 once the 4K hits and lowers its price considerably.
I mean, given the historical documents that we have access to now we DO know that it was the wrong decision and that Japan was already planning on surrendering prior to the bombs being dropped. Truman just wanted to show off his new toys at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives and the beginning the Cold War.
It's clear that the intent behind the article was simply as a way of examining the past and how minor things can affect the future, but the wording here really makes it hard to argue in favor of. The suggestion that Stimson saved people, and the implication that he should be remembered positively for that, is worrying to say the least. Mainly, I find the idea that we should be finding some kind of video game related silver lining in the murders of hundreds of thousands of innocents disquieting.
Ultimately, the article really should have been delivered with a bit more nuance considering the near-genocidal subject matter.
Granted, I've only tried VR once, but the idea of shoving some massive piece of garbage on my head and flailing my arms about to play a game seems utterly horrible. Buttons and a screen will be just fine, thanks.
It's not a question of whether Nintendo CAN do this (They can), it's a question of whether or not they SHOULD. And they shouldn't. They're in last place right now as far as console sales go, so their focus should be on how to improve their public image and increase sales. By being the only company to take profits from people on Youtube, they do a few things:
1. Make themselves look greedier than all the companies who don't take money from content creators on Youtube. (Meaning everybody else) 2. Make everyone who subscribes to people on Youtube who would be affected by this (Millions of people in some cases) view Nintendo negatively for taking money from someone whose content they enjoy. (I want a game console; I associate Nintendo with greed because they took money from this person I enjoy watching on Youtube when nobody else did, I have no such associations with Sony. I'll buy a PS4 over a Wii U.) 3. Make people on Youtube far less likely to post videos about their products. This means less exposure, less brand recognition, and less money for them.
Take something like Splatoon. New game, no brand recognition. People who aren't super dedicated fans won't know about it, probably, and given how bad Nintendo is at marketing things they probably won't ever know about it. Now, if people made videos about it on Youtube it might reach a wider audience and sell more, leading to sequels, merchandising, whatever if it sells enough. But if there's literally no incentive to make a video about a Nintendo game (I can do videos of a PS4 game and make 100% ad revenue, or a Wii U game and get 60% after submitting it through some review process. Even if I'd rather play the Wii U game, it makes more logical sense to choose the PS4 game.) Then it's going to get less exposure and less people will even know about it, let alone buy it.
Nintendo's well within their rights to do this, but it's a choice that can only lead to negative perceptions and fewer sales.
It's not a matter of games being easier or kids sucking more, it's just lack of practice. I'm 19 and Castlevania and Megaman 2 are some of my favorite games, but they're really not for everyone my age. I just got into that style of platformer through Cave Story and enjoyed it, so I got better at the older ones through the Virtual Console. I sucked at Megaman my first try too, and I'm sure all of you did too until you'd played it for a while.
That's what I figured. Didn't want to make a new FE blue haired swordsman + Chrom doesn't really have that much personality, so he made Robin and then Lucina showed up as an afterthought after being made as an alt. No slots stolen (Slots can't be stolen anyway, nobody "Owns" a slot), and pretty good reasoning, imo.
He put up the Rayman trophy so we would all expect him to announce someone different so he could announce Rayman in the trailer and still surprise everyone in the most masterful act of trolling any of us will ever see in our lives.
I have no idea why anyone thinks Bayonetta has even the slightest chance of getting in. One game for Nintendo systems and it won't even be out until about the same time Smash 4 comes out. I could see Nintendo marketing their own games through Smash, as they already have, but third parties seem to rely on their iconic status, which Bayonetta doesn't have.
I'm hoping for someone not from the Gematsu leak, just to confirm that there are characters outside of it to still be announced, but it's looking like Shulk.
I dunno, if Sakurai was on an all out rampage to destroy the competitive scene I doubt For Glory would have ever even been considered and tripping would have stayed.
I can't believe people actually watched the entire stream the first time instead of just waiting until it was posted on youtube .0054 seconds after they showed it
Well, looks like it's time for me to give in and save up for a PS4. Hoped I wouldn't miss out on a bunch of stuff by sticking with Nintendo this time around, but it's already too late, it seems.
I've never actually played Simon's Quest. I suppose I'll get it eventually, just to see it for myself and so I can finish playing the original Castlevanias. Just not this week, since I still need to get Chibi Robo.
A reboot of Star Fox to the pre-Adventures era would be nice. Or a prequel to 64 where you play as a younger Fox who's proving himself. Since you're just kinda the go-to guy for saving the universe in the other games.
Meh. I haven't really liked any of the Castlevanias that came after IV, so I don't particularly care whether the newer ones are on Nintendo consoles or not.
Pokemon, Phoenix Wright, Link Between Worlds, and this all coming out within about a month of one another is both the best thing that has ever happened to me and the worst thing that's ever happened to my wallet.
Meh. I have a 3DS to play games and I have a phone and computer to contact friends. Typing out an actual conversation on the 3DS would be slow and awkward anyway. If I want to play with someone specific I'll send them a text or a facebook message, and if I want to talk to them about something I don't want a bunch of people seeing then I'll call them or whatever. If I have some general thing to say about a game I'm playing or just want to send out a general request to wifi with someone, I'll use Miiverse.
Besides, if you survived this long without any Miiverse on the 3DS at all, you can surely survive with this version of it.
I'll probably end up getting Phoenix as soon as I'm off of my Pokemon addiction and have a bit more money. Might buy the original Shantae or something this weekend for a change of pace, though.
Well, yeah. If the game was fun I don't think I'd really care. Unless the graphics were bad to the point that they made the game unplayable somehow or were just really ridiculous looking, I'd probably be fine with them. I still play the Gameboy Pokemon games anyway. Not that the improvements are irrelevant or bad or anything, but I'd still play a new game if it looked like the old ones if Nintendo made one.
Even so, the lack of 3D isn't equivalent to a three generation step backwards in graphics. It just removes the 3D effect when you're running around on the overworld. It doesn't break the game or anything, so I don't see what the big deal is.
Oh no, I won't be able to run around in 3D. Whatever will I do? This is a catastrophe of epic proportions. It's not like I've played through five generations of Pokemon games in 2D and they've all been fun games or anything.
Oh, wait, 3D in the overworld wouldn't change the gameplay at all and is completely irrelevant when it comes to actually playing the game. I guess I'll survive.
Eh, good for Europe. I don't really care anymore at this point. NoA is full of morons who won't listen to anyone, but there's nothing that can be done about that.

They're destroying the soundtrack and artstyle, so there's no need for this version anyway.

Ordinarily I wouldn't, but since Cave Story is in my top 5 games of all time I'll jump at the chance to get a physical version.

Nintendo's going to have to go it alone on this one, I think. Hopefully they've learned from the Wii U and publish consistent, high quality games.
No more years with nothing but Star Fox Zero and Color Splash, separated by months of inactivity.
