Well you are up now (looks like for a hour) and you have spent several post pandering for them to shutdown the comments section "ducking out"... answer the question.
They should have just integrated the street pass feature into one of the joycon controllers. It would have been easy to pop one off drop it in your pocket, messenger bag, or purse and pick up street passes while out and about. When you return home, you pop the the joycon back on and see how many tags you picked up. Include a pedometer for those play coins and you have a quality of life product already built into the system that is small, discreet, and easily portable.
Best buy has to clear that dead WiiU inventory anyhow to make room for the Switch. Might as well kill three birds with one stone. Clear inventory, get good PR, and get this free loader out of their store. Taking a page out of the Tom Happ playbook. In what instance have you ever been in a store short on money for an item and the manager steps in and say no need to worry I have you covered and the only people getting in store discounts on new merchandise are the managers relatives.
Both of the people in front of me were trading in their Wii U systems and games. One guy got $500+ for all his stuff then bought a new ps4 slim uncharted 4 bundle and still had money to put toward the NX. I would suspect that the trade values on Wii U games will not be this high again.
On the gamestop website. It is not specifically Wii U games it is any game. Pro rewards members get 60%. I just back from trading some things in. Splatoon is bringing in $40 trade credit.
Maybe if the developer blogged about their child having a disease everybody on here would change their mind and buy multiple copies.
I am sure somebody on the development team is in the same situation but since they do not openly blog about it to promote their game and pander people will not support them.
I guess I could be self-righteous and say I am going to buy the game immediately so I can trumpet my own self-worth to everybody.
If the gentleman really just wanted people to donate to the Kernicterus foundation (as the Dan Adelman tweet would lead you to believe) for this disease instead of funnel money directly to himself or build up his name within the industry, he would have posted about donating to the Kernicterus foundation in his blog and not try to boost the sales for his game to line his pockets or land a job with a major developer/publisher.
He did not even mention the Kernicterus foundation in the blog. It was more of an advertising and political rant of a blog.
Legalize medical marijuana, Fund stem cell research, and insurance companies are evil (the usual propaganda) but most importantly of all buy my game to build my name/brand up among the bigger developers and line my pockets.
“With the Wii U version of AV released and the XB1 version in certification, I thought I'd take a moment to talk about my son, Alastair. It's not something I talk about a lot because, basically, I don't want to make you depressed.”
i.e. this game is getting long in the tooth and I need to boost sales. If you did not know it just released for WiiU and will soon be coming to the Xbox 1. Let me tell you about my son so you will feel depressed about not giving me your money already. Guilt trips sell that is why grifters use it all the time on their marks.
“Rather than just being a hobby, Axiom Verge (and whatever else I do in the future) has now become necessary for supporting him and his medical needs for the rest of his life.”
i.e. buy my future games too instead of donating to the Kernicterus foundation.
I went into my local gamestop to purchase a "New" 3ds xl this weekend and did not see any on the shelf.
I asked the employee if they had any "New" 3ds xl systems for sell. She said no and I was shocked. I thought for sure they would have some inventory in the back.
I asked her if it was because everybody was picking one up to play Sun and Moon this fall. She said that was some of it but it was mainly people coming in to buy the systems so they could play their old DS games again after the Pokemon Go craze.
Well this delay in purchase gave me time to think things over some and I have decided to just purchase a 2DS instead but it appears backwards compatibility and nostalgia can be a system seller.
I stated 2 times that I did not know the storage capacity of NFC chips. I would not expect amiibo to store too much based on what they do. Thanks for sharing that info.
@Damo
I understand that from the video. I was just looking at it from the perspective of if games could be stored on nfc chips. The idea never crossed my mind before and I do not know how nfc technology works as far as storage capacity or how cost prohibitive it would be if possible. Seems like an interesting concept for portable games.
Games stored on nfc chips...hmmm. I do not know how much info can be stored on nfc chips but could that somehow be the way NX games are distributed? And would nfc chips and readers be more cost effective?
Just to clarify "if it's not as strong as a PS4 the games will be horrible and I simply cannot enjoy them"
I think peoples concern on the power front has to do with porting 3rd party games (Assassin's Creed, COD, etc.) over to the NX. With this point of view, the NX will just be another Nintendo box. I think that is their logic with the argument.
I could care less myself. I am just not convinced Assassin's Creed, COD, Etc will ever sell too good on a Nintendo console due to the typical target demographic and the content of the games. I actually prefer the NX to be just a Nintendo box or better yet hybrid system.
What if this nx also acts as an updated gamepad for the wii U?
If that was the case it would eliminate the concern of no backwards compatibility.
I buy the nx and can play my 3ds games on it since it is reported to be cartridge based.
It acts as an updated Wii U game pad, syncs flawlessly with my wii u console, and games have 1080p fidelity on the nx screen (higher quality screen and resolution like tablets)
Plus it also plays NX game on the tv or on the go.
It does not replace the wii u or 3ds per se but enhances it while also being a new console/handheld hybrid.
The fact that you will not admit that it would be courteous if bikers instead of being self serving got off on the side of the road for 2 seconds when there are 10 cars lined up behind them to let them pass and then go about there merry way is all the evidence I need to prove you have that cyclist self serving attitude. They would not even have to stop they could keep pedaling just move over on the shoulder and let the cars pass as a courtesy.
Are you saying 10+ people in the cars should all rearrange their life everyday on the off chance (any given day) that a cyclist may be on the road just to satisfy one person that can move over to the side of the road for 2 seconds and alleviate the problem but will not do so due to lack of courtesy and an arrogant attitude?
I am not advocating that the cyclists get up 2 hours after I am at work to get on their bike. I am just advocating obeying laws and being courteous to others. Concepts a child can grasp but apparently not an elitist cyclist or those who share their same mentality.
This whole article is about them having to rearrange their lifestyle in order to play a freaking video game and they are complaining about it. They are self centered.
Read the mess "What do you think? Should cyclists be FORCED to stay below 10mph for THEIR own safety when playing Pokémon GO or is it an unnecessary barrier which PREVENTS THEIR enjoyment of the app? How could Niantic possibly improve on the situation in future updates?"
In other words, who all should bow to the cyclist cartel? The city? The company that built the app?
Their own safety? how about everybody else's safety? They are the one's wanting to go over 10 mph on a bike while playing a video game.
This courtesy is not lacking from the garbage truck staff who if they see a line of cars behind them not only will move over but will watch out for oncoming traffic and wave you around letting you know it is ok to pass their large truck which is hard to see around. Common courtesy is not a hard concept to grasp to everybody else but the arrogant cyclist who lack any form of common decency. Cyclist think they are high society but the garbage staff rank higher on the totem pole.
Look at this quote from an earlier post "Even the bike lanes around here are too narrow for my taste." Cyclists are never satisfied a community can go through the expense and headache of adding bike lanes to pacify the cyclist militia but the cyclist are never satisfied.
It is their world revolves around me attitude, blatant disregard for traffic laws, and lack of common civil courtesy that generates and advances negative feelings toward them.

If they die it is reported as vehicular manslaughter not suicide. However if a cyclists gets killed for doing the same exact thing it is such a tragedy we must act now! bike lanes all over the city to prevent such tragedy public awareness for the drivers on everything. NO follow the law and prevent this mess. It is always their own gross negligence and disregard for the traffic laws that cause their demise. That is like running in front of a firing range getting killed and blaming it on guns. I have seen pedestrians and cyclist run out in front of traffic and cause an accident and guess what? It gets reported as a car accident.

60% trade in for Wii U games at Gamestop this weekend for pro rewards members. 50% for basic rewards members.
If you want to get out and prepare for the NX now would be the time.
Yes you may not get too much but it is pretty decent amount for 1st party Nintendo games once the 60% is added.
$90 for the console is a bit of a rip but hey quick and easy trade in credit without having to ship, post on ebay, etc.
Not for everybody but if you want to liquidate fast and easy it may be the best route.
