Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

Inkling64

I leave in plenty of time to make it to work on time but I am not about to rearrange my life on the off chance that a group of rude, selfish, discourteous cyclists may be on the road on any given morning. I mean there could be a 18 wheeler flipped over in the middle of the road on any given day (more than likely caused by a pack of jackal cyclist) but I am not going to get up 3 hours early just in case that is foolish. You may not be a cyclist but sounds like you have been around them long enough that their self serving mentality has become entrenched in your mind set.

@Maxz

Look Dr. Phil thanks for the psychoanalysis that nobody requested but people need to obey the law. Everybody else brought up death and murder not me. But if I tell a person not to touch an electrical line and they touch it and die that is on them. If these elitist cyclists do no follow the law what ever happens is on them and I have little empathy. I did not bring up another species you did and I just agreed with you. Not that I think they are literal different species but they think they are a different level of society than everybody based on their self centered attitude. They could be classified as gods not literally but because of their self feeling of being on the higher rung of society. Sounds to me like the Brexit vote did not go your way and you are still bitter typical cyclists mentality. Society did not bow to whim now let me turn militant.

Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

@cleveland124

You are the gift that keeps on giving. You cannot just agree and say they should move over for 2 seconds and let people pass ( the courteous thing) oh no I must schedule my life around their exercise schedule and wake up 10 minutes early unbelievable. I must bow to the whim of the cyclists. Nowhere did I state it is an everyday occurrence you just assumed that and instructed me to change my life around to appease the entitled cyclists. That self centered entitled cyclists mentality is on full display again.

Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

@cleveland124

If you could not tell the mole comment was in jest then perhaps you are the one with the mental problem. I wish no harm on anybody but when people get themselves into situations due to neglect that is on them.

I would rot in the bad place before I would ever push for a bike lane. There is no need to go to all that expense when they can get on the side of the road for two seconds that is not asking too much.

You must not work because if you show up 10 minutes late to work then you will find out how precious 10 minutes is to the person paying your wages. But hey you are a cyclists so the world revolves you and not your employer. There is the self centered cyclist attitude peeking out.

Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

@Maxz

Not paranoid that is your spin and has been the whole time. I am just a law abiding citizen that expects the same from everybody else on the road for my own safety. The last thing I need is a lunatic on a bike running a stop sign, plowing into my vehicle, and then being charged with manslaughter for their incompetence. You know it is really not asking too much of others to be courteous by getting on the shoulder of the road for two seconds instead of holding up a line of traffic and obeying the law. That is all I am saying.

Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

Inkling64

@PlywoodStick

Lot more cars on the road than cyclists bound to be more accidents. Even with a lower volume of bikes I read every week where some fool cyclists refused to follow the law or pay attention to their surroundings and wound up like a squirrel on the side of the road. At least the squirrels have enough sense to try to get out of the way and not have earbuds rammed in their ears.

Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

Inkling64

@Maxz

The helmet has nothing do with being labeled another species.

It is their pompous, self serving, attitude. Just because they ride a bike does not mean that they get to not obey the law and terminate the concept of common courtesy.

They want to be treated like another vehicle on the road but only obey traffic law when it is convenient for them.

I am apparently not the only person has witnessed their blatant disregard for the law. The world does not revolve around them just because they choose to ride a bike.

I hope the fact that they can not go over a certain speed limit eats at their very soul. serves them right.

Look at his tweet "Apologies if my tone comes across as whiny/complaining, not the intent." He knows how it sounds but plays it off. Why? he has played this hand before. This is their tactic act nice then when nobody caves turn militant in attitude and demand.

Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

Inkling64

@cleveland124

I do not own the road but neither do they. If a cyclist looks back and sees they are holding up a line of traffic and they refuse to get off on the shoulder of the road they are being foolish. It is the concept of sharing, be courteous to others, and obeying the law. Now that is happening to them now it is a big deal. big surprise. Why? because they think the world revolves around them. I think it is great they are getting a dose of their own medicine!

Shani stated "It's the car driver's responsibility to be more careful and abide the law."

I am abiding by the law but it is not my sole responsibility the cyclists need to obey the law as well. I should not have to slam on my brakes because some fool on a bike runs a stop sign at full speed or comes down a one way street the wrong way.

The courteous thing to do is move over for 2 seconds and let the traffic pass and then move on about their 2 mph merry way and be aware of their surroundings. Not everybody can waste their day waiting for you to get some exercise.

It is not a minute or two late when you have to drive 10 miles to work and it is double yellow line the entire way.

Then they complain about not having a bicycle lane but that would take a lot of money, time, and effort to implement. It is a complete waste of resources to appease a handful of folks who think society should bow to their whims.

We all do not live in heavily populated areas so some of us actually have to drive to work. God forbid somebody owns a car or "murder weapon" to go to their job in to provide for their family and travel the country while boosting the local economy.

I never said anybody deserves to die because they choose to ride a bike but if they do not obey the traffic laws or they refuse to be aware of their surroundings then whatever happens is their own fault.

If they are bold enough to sit on a $4 piece of aluminum with nothing on but $10 plastic helmet and $2 reflector and get out among 2 tons vehicles and not expect something to happen they need to be in a mental institution. It is like throwing a kitten in a pen among a parade of elephants.

Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

Inkling64

@Maxz
These cyclists need to get the heck off the road when they see or hear a vehicle coming that would fix the problem.

a) so they do not get hit
b) so they stop holding up traffic

people actually have places to be.... like work... and should be able to go faster than 2 mph..

They want the vehicle to give them 3 feet of space but how about they give the 2 ton vehicle space instead.

Also the elitist entitled cyclists should stop going down one way streets the wrong way and actually stop at the stop signs if they do not want to get hit.

They want society to bow to their every whim and will not stop until they do. These cyclist are elitist self serving militant thugs that are a menace to society.

Stay cool.-Morpheel

Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit

Inkling64

Cyclists are the biggest bunch of complainers on the planet earth.

I swear they are never satisfied.

They want their own lanes, think you should give them 3 feet of space, want to be considered a vehicle but never stop at stop signs, and they think they can go down one way streets the wrong way.

I will take the fanboy console war bickering over entitled bicyclist any day of the week.

I hope a mole jumps out of a hole and jumps between their spokes while they are going full speed downhill causing a sudden stop and thud.

Re: Nintendo NX Has A Core Idea Which Doesn't Just "Follow Advancements In Technology", Claims Miyamoto

Inkling64

I will just be playing my Wii U watching the hamsters on the wheel for a few years to see how things shake out.

In my opinion, it will not matter how powerful this thing is because third party games will just never really sell too good on Nintendo consoles. I really don't see the next assassins creed, titanfall , destiny , mass effect, or watchdogs etc selling well enough. I think it has more to do with the content in these games and the demographic Nintendo caters to than it does console power. I understand there are people out there that desire this and there is nothing wrong with that but I just do not see it working out but I will not complain if it does just not holding by breath.

Nintendo should focus on making gaming simplified again. No game installs from disc, no VR, no 4k, no paying for online, no 2 yr console power upgrades. Just give me a cartridge to pop into the system with a normal controller so when I get back from the store I can sit down and play my game. We do not need 4k to see Mario's freckles and nose hair.

Finally, I am hoping for a cartridge based hybrid system. If that happens and those first party games are coming steadily month after month along with a consistent stream of virtual console games that are tied to my account and can be played at home or on the road with only one purchase then I will jump on the hamster wheel alot sooner rather than later.

With all that being said, Nintendo just tell us what this thing is already so I can decide to save my money for it or go ahead and purchase a new 3DS this holiday.

@rjejr

"But you said you spent $399 on an PS4 and $349 on an X1. I don't think we have the same definition of "budget gamer"."

No, I did not spend a dime. I basically traded 20 years worth of games and systems that somebody else had bought me for either Christmas or birthdays to get these new systems. I bought them when I could get a bundled $60 game and a $50 gift card while using discount coupons without paying sales tax. I dumped the $60 games off at target (returns without receipt... lets not get on a moral high ground here) and used that money during their buy 2 get 1 free games sale to pick up a bunch of $20 games. I also did not buy either system at launch and waited for those $20 games to hit the market. Perhaps smart shopper is more accurate but I think cheap fits here.

I mean I could have bought a used wii at a yard sale for $20, got a few used games at Gamestop during their buy 2 get 2 used games sale, and been " hardcore budget" but that is not what I wanted to do.

I got the newest systems at the cheapest price I could possibly get them without paying sales tax + got 2 $60 games all without drawing a dime out of my bank.

You are correct customers are more likely to purchase things at lower prices so lowering the price of the Wii U could only help sales. I fully expect a price drop soon to clear out the inventory. I could have waited but I did not want too. I had the means to get everything I wanted except Hyrule Warriors and Captain Toad without spending any money just using trade credit from my PS4/X1 disappointments. Of course as you know, the Wii u does not come with a wii remote so I found a Wii Party U Wii remote bundle in Wal-mart for $24 I traded the game in at Gamestop for $16.50 so I got a brand new Wii remote for $7.50...... budget gamer.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success

@Matclip

Just wait until 4K dual layered game disc hit the market. The file sizes and install times will be crazy. The technology is advancing faster than it needs to but I agree with you on the cartridges making a comeback with the NX. It just makes sense at this point in time. Gaming just needs to be resimplified. I am all for advancements in graphics but the move to 4K is just too fast. You will need a 4K capable display, a new console, it will require larger hardrives, more bandwidth if you are downloading, and you can bet your bottom dollar the price of games will go up from $60. The start up cost are just too high right now. I really do have concerns for the industry as a whole with everything going on in the market right now.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success

Inkling64

@Matclip

Yeah I did not like the PS4 at all I think it was mainly the controller I did not care for the most. I enjoyed my X1 alot more but I am a big Halo fan so that helps but that system has some problems it needs to work out in my opinion really the install time for games. I guess at the end of the day, I just get more enjoyment out of platformers than I do out of first person shooters. Also the "mature" content in games these days just comes across as rather sophmoric and juvenille to me now E3 just solidified this thought more for me. I will take Tropical Freeze over any game on X1 or PS4 anytime but that is my personal preference.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success

Inkling64

@rjejr

The select line was 100% a contributing factor. I am not made of money and live on a budget. I traded in everything I had accumulated over many years dating back to the original Gameboy via birthdays and Christmas to purchase these systems I got well over $1,000 trade in at GameStop. So I not only purchased those 2 systems with trade in credit but also used my $50 gift certificate I got via the power up rewards system. Then I got a $60 game with my purchase of the system along with a $50 gamestop gift card since I bought it during a special promotion they had. Finally since I used trade in credit I did not have to pay sales tax on either console. When I got ready to purchase my Wii U I traded in my PS4, Vita, and X1 along with all those games and purchased my Wii U along with every major first party title. Once I get Hyrule Warriors and Captain Toad I will have every game for the system that I wanted plus some Wii games. I am a budget gamer by all accounts trust me.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success

Inkling64

@rjejr

Lower prices are better for consumers...got it.

I could have bought a wii u then but I would have paid $50-$60 for the games that I got for $20 plus I do not have to wait around for games to release. Pretty much everything that is going to release has except Breath of the Wild and Color Splash.

I understand your point and I am obviously in the minority but for me I could justify the $299 price tag last month. I am happier with my $299 Wii U in the last month than I was in the year I had my $349 Xbox One and the 2 years I had my $399 PS4. I think those games just do not appeal to me anymore due to their content plus they are just becoming too convulted.

VR, 4K, mid console cycle upgrade, move controllers, Cameras, install all the games to play, most games online only, $60 fee to play online.

I suppose you can get a $299 X1 S over a Wii U but you will get just a handful of games installed before having to purchase additional storage or spending time managing your 500 GB hard drive. Then you shell out $40-$60 to play the multiplayer aspect of the game. Nothing wrong with all that stuff but it is just not for me anymore.

I do not have that much time to enjoy my hobby anymore. I just want sit down, pop in a game, and play. The gamepad allows me to do that in my dedicated room on my computer monitor or laying on the couch while I watch a baseball game. I tried the X1 streaming feature and it did not meet my expectations. I also tried Vita remote play which was better but the lack of buttons caused issues.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success

@rjejr

I just bought a Wii u for $299 last month AFTER they pretty much said they were killing it off. I got mario kart 8 bundled with the system with all its DLC. Then I picked up all the Wii u and Wii Nintendo Select games that were in the store for $20 each. I also get the benefit of off TV play so I can play games while the wife watches Netflix and Hulu. I get to play Wii games on it which are dirt cheap used now and can played off TV. I also gain access to the virtual console library which I can play off TV. The bundled in game/DLC is valued at $70 a used Wii would cost me $60 at GameStop right now so once you consider that value the $299 is not so bad. Any married gamer should know the benefits of off TV play so there is that too. With all this being said I expect a price drop on the Wii u very soon so I probably could have waited but I was ready to jump in. All this should keep me occupied until it is clear that the NX is doing good and being developed for (2-3 years) then I can buy it and not have to worry or wait for games to be released. Buying a console at launch is a fun experience but sometimes there are long droughts of quality games being released. I am happy with my $299 Wii u purchase even if the price drops to $199 tomorrow. My wife and I have had so much fun playing Splatoon, Amiibo Festival, and Tropical Freeze in the last month!

Re: Reminder: Catch the Sony E3 2016 Press Conference With Push Square

Inkling64

Seems like too much happening at one time for me I mean 4k, VR, motion controllers, cameras, mid cycle console horsepower upgrades. The industry has reached the point of critical mass. I understand that you are not required to buy all this stuff but it just seems like too much happening at one time in the industry. I think they should have picked 4k or VR. If you want VR and a 4k display you are fixing to drop $1,000.

Re: Video: Learn How Nintendo Overcame Rampant Xenophobia To Own The Seattle Mariners

Inkling64

Economic concerns do not equal xenophobia but that would ruin a good headline. Japan had the same restrictions against foreign ownership according to the video. As a baseball and videogame fan it was an interesting video but you cannot just ignore the historical context of the economical mindset during this timeframe and just sprinkle in the word xenophobia. With many American workers losing jobs to foreign companies at the time, you can bet there would be concern politically and economically speaking.

Re: Rumour: ROM Chip Maker Macronix Drops Hint Nintendo Could Be Abandoning Optical Storage For NX

Inkling64

NX will be a first party only console and the entire back catalog of games will be released on SD cards to fill in the gaps between major releases. So in November you walk into Walmart for the newest Mario NX release then each week in December you walk into Walmart and purchase a physical copy on flash media of super metroid, next week Ocarina of Time etc. All with the old school box art in a smaller 3ds/Vita sized case. This way Nintendo can cater to retro gamers, collector's, people who just want physical media. If you want it digitally you can have it that way too if you need the latest and greatest here is this month's AAA Nintendo NX game. They could even bundle Super Metroid with a Ridley amiibo or something like a Majora's Mask with a skull kid amiibo to spike interest in the physical release of retro games. You missed out on that Ness amiibo here is Earthbound this month bundled with the Ness amiibo. You say you like to play these games with the original controllers? Wii at Nintendo love to make big profits off of selling controllers so we can sell you the retro controller DIRECTLY from our Nintendo website with that quality Nintendo feel only now with a USB port that works with your NX console. What is that you say? You never owned a Wii U but wanted to play splatoon. Here you go we are launching splatoon during everybody's mid- July release lull for $35 on a SD card playable on your NX console or NX hand held device. Limited editions of this game will come bundled with an octoling amiibo. You are a casual gamer who does not want to spend $199 on our newest console? Perhaps we can entice you too by releasing these mobile games for your Android or iOS device. Wii at Nintendo just want your money.
