“Netflix-style”? How about SEGA-style? Sega pioneered the video game subscription service way back in 1994 with Sega Channel! (Yes, I’m old enough to have had it way back when). If Sega wants to do a sub service, they have every right! and I’d happily subscribe again, 30 years later!

I'm usually underwhelmed by these Directs, but Super Mario Wonder and a chance to play RPG and MGS for the first time have me interested.

A Short Hike is one of my favorite Switch gaming experiences, so the moment I saw this I was interested because of the similar aesthetic and "have fun at your own pace" nature of it. Stoked to try this!

@Burning_Spear that Tiger Woods game on Wii was such a great time for me and my friends in college. One rule: can't play as Tiger. Those 300+ yard drives were too OP! XD

Disco Elysium, Kentucky Route Zero, and Death's Door are all on sale and have my attention.

I hope somehow they also port over the deluxe editions of Monkey Island 1&2 as I'd love to play those games with touch controls in the palm of my hand!

Dang, I just said this about a different game, but that bouncy movement animation style sure is hot right now. I really don't care for it, but not enough for it to detract from what could be a good game.

That bouncy animation style is really en vogue at the moment huh? That and visual novel-esque dialogue with hyper-stylized characters that take up half the screen.

Honestly it looks great for the people who are into those elements, so I hope they enjoy it!

This game is gonna look SO good in handheld mode on my OLED. Stoked for it!

Is the delay when a hit connects just an effect they put on the video, or does that happen in game? If so, I think it should be shorter. Seems to really slow things down.

That said: the artstyle is AWESOME.

Small gripe, but: when you get hit and the coins go flying, they often fly out of the frame, which seems like a pain to have to and try and collect them. Not to mention they look dull and have no sort of aura around them so they easily blend in and don't feel like they have any "presence" in the world.

Clearly inspired by Breath of the Wild, when they SHOULD have been inspired by Super Mario Odyssey. Sandbox levels with a high level of exploration, and 2D segments that play like the old games. Create a sort of hub world where you can interact with the other characters, spend coins on upgrades, etc. Then jump into worlds with distinct designs (think of the variety in 2D Sonic levels).

I mean, it was right there. They could've nearly copied Odyssey and it would've been just fine I think.

I am really, really excited for this, but even on my vanilla XB1 this game kinda chugged along (it's massive!) so I'm really curious to see how it performs on Switch.

I would love a collector's edition physical of this, though. I love the art of this game, it's got such a great sci-fi aesthetic and amazing colors.

I love to add things to Wish List, wait til Nintendo emails me that they're on sale, then pick them up. I do wish search function was better, and there was more fine-tuned categorizing (the category "Adventure" is a bit broad for me) and I do wish I could mark titles as "never interested" (AAA Clock anyone?) so they never show up again.

I personally get a kick out of seeing what softcore porn games make it to the shop though. There's a LOT of horny games being sold on the eShop!

Looking forward to getting to Unpacking once I do some backlog stuff! Looks chill.

@Magician is that confirmed? I'm debating whether to wait for physical or not. This seems like a game you can play multiple times (I've never played it!) but I'm not really one who revisits older games often. Should I wait?!? Or would digital be just fine for me?

Looks cute, but the trailer kept cutting away from the actual gameplay! Like..what do you actually do...

I play games to ESCAPE from my reality of being constantly nagged by my grandmother to join her wizard cult, so I think I'll pass on this one.

Big fan of point-and-click adventure games and those Deponia ones are.....fine. I guess? The main character sucks, and there's a lot of icky stuff in it (watch the trailer for Chaos on Deponia and you'll see what I mean). That said, the art is cool, and it does mildly scratch that itch if you're feeling EXTRA nostalgic for that genre.

Really interesting art style. Can't wait to see it all in motion. I will say I am a bit nervous about how Guybrush will look, though. The character models are very stylized, so I'm curious to see what he'll look like. The big question: will he have a beard??

@Rambler I live in CA! The "show ID no matter your age" isn't as strict as other states (see Hawaii, Tennessee, etc.) from what I've noticed. But it depends on what part of CA you live in I suppose; this state is basically two states in one.
