Publisher Shiro Unlimited has unveiled Decarnation, a narrative puzzle game with a dark and twisted tale full of gruesome body horror and bizarre parallel realities.
Due out in 2023, the game looks to borrow visual elements from Thimbleweed Park, but definitely injects its own sense of macabre style into the mix. You'll be solving cryptic puzzles and fighting off deadly enemies as you work to unravel the game's mystery.
Here's some more info from Shiro Unlimited:
Explore a haunting world, both real and metaphorical, and find the keys needed to battle inner and outer monsters. Get caught up in an intensely emotional story unfolding in a malignant, elaborate setting. Experience diverse gameplay featuring twisted puzzles, threatening creatures, lovecraftian environments, and metaphorical minigames.
Decarnation takes inspiration from the best 2D adventure-horror and survival-horror games from the past eras, as well as cult movies from Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue) and David Lynch (Mulholland Drive).
Gameplay:Decarnation mixes traditional survival horror elements (cryptic puzzle to solve, inhospitable environments to explore, lethal predators to avoid, terrifying boss to defeat, etc.) with a wide variety of symbolic minigames (puzzles, reflexes, rhythm, etc.) accounting for real life situations (performing a cabaret show on stage) or metaphorical ones.
Once uncovered, key elements of Gloria's life aid her in defeating monsters in her dreams in unique battles that marry the grotesque and the sublime to represent her struggle for survival. Overcoming challenges in her dreams strengthens Gloria against real life difficulties, and her real life issues create new challenges in her dreams.
We'll be keeping an eye on this one over the coming months as it inches closer to it's rather vague 2023 release window.

Ok this looks quite interesting. Will hope it runs well on Switch and gets good reviews.
Also anyone play Corpse Party on Switch?
How does that game run on Switch?
@anoyonmus Hello. Corpse Party runs very good on Switch. But, I think that there was one glitch with Extra Chapter 12 - it seems to be impossible to get Wrong End 1. But, I still haven't tried to switch language to Japanese and replay the chapter.
@Vyacheslav333 I see
Looks twisted and interesting. I'm into it. Hopefully you can make the text size bigger cuz I can't read that even on my big laptop screen.
@ImmaWario where was the body horror portion of this trailer?
@anoyonmus Oh, and also, I forgot to mention – I've played game only in handheld and tabletop modes. I don't know how it runs in docked mode.
@Vyacheslav333 ah ok
@ImmaWario yeah, I could barely read it too.
The art design looks effed up. I love it.
Cool artwork. Reminds me of Akira.
Looks cool, but why compare it to Thimbleweed Park specifically?
I don't know if I've ever seen horror rendered in this style, let alone so knowingly. Something to think about! I hope to see more of this.
