@Lemonyoshi while it would be a good idea for them to explain that, if you're a player of Splatoon already, then you would already know they do a limited amount of Splatfests. Eventually the excitement is over, and It's just not the same.
Splatoon 3 will obviously explore a whole new arc of splatfests that go down in Splatoon history. I can't wait to see what happens.
It will belong to Pokemon by default unless anything else big gets released, but honestly the new games look promising, and I really hope it's a brand new experience that feels as high quality as older eras. I would be legitimately excited if that were the case. Legends: Arceus doesn't have to be followed to a T, but I hope the effort they put into the game is the kind of effort we get going forward. If that is the case, I will be all in on Pokemon.
Another game I really want to see while they are working on the big console style sequel to Breath of the Wild is a topdown Zelda that isn't a remake. Heck, I've always thought it would be a good idea to make a top down Zelda in the same universe that has its own story. The blue link is just so iconic and fresh these days that having it get portable top down style games in the vein of Link To The Past's long gone era is a fantastic idea. I also just LOVE the top down style Zelda. The gameplay is challenging at times, but also incredibly simple and amazing for laying back in a corner somewhere quiet and secret. It feels incredibly invigorating. These top down games do take time, but the development time is incredibly short compared to the other style of Zelda. It would be a great way to get a new game out that keeps fans interested. Hopefully they won't forget that style after the Links Awakening remake, because It has been quite awhile otherwise. I do often worry due to the hybrid nature of Zelda that the smaller top down style a lost format in the series.
Twilight Princess's port has been floating around for so long at this point, I often wonder why it wasn't released. We know it exists in some form because of leaks, but it just doesn't ever see the light of day for some reason. I don't know why Nintendo is so god awful with their backlog, but here we are. Same issue with Super Mario Galaxy 2. It's missing, and of course if you rom it, Nintendo might try to get ya, but I don't see them doing anything with it. Honestly, they are so stubborn I just don't see some of these ports ever happening anymore. I don't know if its Nintendo, their legal team, or cultural legal differences. If only there was a way to get the fans and the company on the same page without copy right infringement.. such is the pain of game preservation.
Sick with Covid-19, so I'm just playing relaxing games.
So far Rune Factory 5 seems to be the best fit for me at the moment.
I have been chipping away at Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and have left Elden Ring on my Playstation 5 on a temporary hiatus, because that game is too stressful for an illness. I don't want to get frustrated and make myself sicker. xD
For me, its the song. I hate the menu song more than I have ever hated anything else before. No, I don't need to be reminded every second I play the game who Chocobo and his friends are. I love them, but don't underestimate my ability to lose enthusiasm. The menu theme is horrible, and it creeps between every option. It's everywhere and inescapable. I hate that.
@StarPoint They have a lot of teams, and a lot of different divisions in the company. I think they like to always be putting out ideas to see what sticks, so that they can always turn out fresh content. It's not a bad idea. I do wish they had just a tiny bit more quality control like they used to, but at least they are not saying no to fresh ideas as often as other companies do. However, I wonder sometimes if they aren't always put in the best hands. Koi Tecmo is hit or miss.
I still can't forget how bad Dissidia NT was. I hope it didn't destroy the series, because I really liked the franchise.
LOVEEE Klonoa. He was always very underappreciated compared to other anthropomorphic/furry mascot characters. Characters like Fox McCloud, Wolf O'donnel, Falco, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Sly Cooper, Ratchet, Clank, Lucario, Red XIII, Kimahri Ronso, and Freya from FFIX tended to get a lot attention than him. It's good to see him getting a second chance. I really missed his games. Hopefully the game will be well remastered, and we will even get a new one as a result at some point. Would love to see it.
@PARK1755 I won't hold out hope, but if Mario Strikers can come back, I think F-Zero might have a shot. Lets just hope they don't forget about Kirby Airride as well. It's a Kirby fans ultimate dream. Especially that City Trial mode. I want a new version of that with more features.
They really should launch the game on Playstation, PC, and maybe even Xbox. Crossplay can bring life into games and keep the playerbase strong.
The only issue with that though is the season pass format they chose. They'd have to keep up with the current season pass AND offer the old content for the new additional players. I guess to be fair they could just have a multi season pass format for those players, where they advance multiple at once during the launch.
I do hope they find a way though. I want more people playing this game. Chocobo Racing on the Playstation was a flawed, but extremely fun kart racer with a tremendous amount of potential, and its cool to see that a sequel finally broke through for once. The original Chocobo Racing sequel for 3DS was scrapped and cancelled after announcement.
For me this game is going to exist in the same spot that Kirby Air Ride did back in the gamecube era. An excellent alternative to Mario Kart to keep my enjoyment going. It's nice to have a variety of racing games to play. Doing the same one over and over is fun, but it can get a little bland if you don't have alternatives with different mechanics.
For example; I really enjoyed Gran Turismo Sport, and Wipe Outs Omega Collection. Gran Turismo really helped me with that normal racing itch, and Wipeout gave me my combat super high speed fix. It also had better music imo.
Hell, even today I play a lot of racing games. Gran Turismo 7 when I'm in the mode for serious gameplay, Grid: Legends for that arcade experience, WipeOut for that F-Zero like fun, Need For Speed: Heat (REALLLY FUN if you like crazy lawless street style races), and F1 for Formula style racing. (really wish we had more F-Zero and Wipeout, but both look pretty doomed now.)
Nintendo though is just not in a good spot. All it has is Mario Kart, and a bunch of online only multiplayer racing games. I'm going on a trip, and I really wanted to buy Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered to play in the hotel with friends, but we can't. It's multiplayer is online only. They have Grid: Autosport, but my friends don't really like how it plays. It's too.. specific, and full of penalties. There's nothing else really out there that's good. Aside from maybe Fast RMX, but I wish the budget on that were higher. We were interested in Crash Racing, but unfortunately with Activision and Blizzard being bought out by Microsoft, we are scared to make the purchase. We like to keep up to date with future games in each series, and feel like when things get bought out and changed to another console, that it isn't very rewarding to a dedicated customer. Other people disagree, but that is just how we feel. We don't like to have our loyalty swayed, and Sonic Team Racing just isn't that fun. We tried it, its okay, but it feels really cheap and meh. Even the dialogue is just in that cheap picture format with moving text boxes. It's just not fun to play the campaign mode. Maybe back in 2012 I would have liked it. It feels so ten years ago.
Hot Wheels new game is AMAZING, but I can only handle one season pass game at a time. Missing a season pass just makes me feel left out and sad. I can't handle more than a few at a time. My boyfriend loves it, but I just can't keep up. He does seem to enjoy it regardless of completing or not completing a season pass, but I'm just not that kind of person. I'll feel slighted if I just can't find the time during a season.
I'm glad to see more racing on Nintendo that actually has local multiplayer, and just more racing on Nintendo in general. It's seriously lacking. Please Nintendo, if you are watching BRING BACK KIRBY AIR RIDE. Remaster that masterpiece of a game, and update its mechanics to be a bit more modern and smooth. You don't even have to do a sequel, though it would be welcome. We need more racing on Switch. It's like everyone is afraid because Playstation and Xbox are delivering high expectation experiences, but even then outside of regular professional racing, its a bit bleak unless you want to play old Playstation games. We need things that are different and nichey. There's not really anything beyond cheap indie games on both sides. It's making me sad. Racing needs some new life into its genre. Now is the time.
Release Kirby Airride 2. It's time for another top selling Kart racer from Nintendo. Show that you have more to offer than just Mario Kart.
Then get serious and release F-Zero already. With Wipeout in limbo because of Sony's shuttering third party support, there has never been a better time for F-Zero. Hell get a lot of electronic artists on board, and make a soundtrack for the ages. That was my favorite thing about the Wipeout series. You had techno (the actual genre, not the generic label people think it is.), House music, drum and bass, EDM (not a fan of that side of electronic music, but hey the more the merrier for everyone.), and more. I would love to see F-Zero stand up to its competitors. The bar is pretty high right now, but there isn't much to offer at the moment.
Then get out there and put more life into games that have been stagnating. I want a new entry in the Story of Seasons franchise that can stand on its own legs as much as Runefactory can. Pioneers of Olive Town was a let down, the Mineral Town remake was great, but they removed things that made it too easy compared to the original. They should have made those changes an option. Would have solved the whole rival marriage, animal death, and etc. arguments.
And Starfox! The forgotten battle for Atlas showed that Starfox actually CAN be interesting in the modern era. I think it's time they put Starfox into a new studios hands. Let someone passionate about its characters put life into franchise, but please move on from the N64 game. I'm tired of that getting remade constantly. Out of all versions of that game we currently have SNES, 64, 643D, and Zero. We don't need one more version of the already told game. Though I wouldn't mind a port of the 3DS version or Zero if it were remastered, but new entries need to stay original. I'm actually part of the fanbase that liked Assault. For all its flaws it deserves a lookback, especially with the multiplayer mode. I think they could make a whole game based off that, and put it online.
I expect Mario year after year, but its time for something fresh. I think the backlog of characters that are not currently being utilized would be a great thing for Nintendo to look into as a flagship title. This is why I'm thankful for games like Splatoon 3. It's nice to see things that aren't Mario doing well.
@LordPieFace That may be true, but when I can get the game on Playstation, have a massive arsenal of cards at my disposal, and still duel friends, I am not going to bother with this. I think its a huge waste of money unless they package codes in actual physical cards you can buy.
I want the other form of the starters evolutions. To have the old and the new side by side would be cool. Same for the regional variants. Plus I ADORE Decidueye and I want both forms very badly in one game. :'3
DLC. I know that is sometimes divisive, but I really want an extra area or two to explore in the game. The game is great. It deserves the success and DLC. More Pokemon would also be welcome. The game in its current state definitely needs a couple more in the dragon type too.
A new mythical would be WONDERFUL if it debuted in this game. Like I said before, the game clearly deserves it.
For gen IX to use this game as its inspiration and starting point for what a Pokemon game should look like, and then to evolve it. If they take this game and just evolve it, the next game would be PERFECT.
@VoidofLight in my household we get a stocking that we are privy too as soon as we wake up, but the big presents are not until the afternoon. Sometimes its even 2pm depending on if my parents are forced to work, so that they can see us opening when they get home.
Sorry, but I love the artstyle. The fact that its replicating the DS graphics is really cool, and I wish more people could see it that way. This is probably going to be the last game we get in that style unless Black and White remakes happen, and they do the same thing. Appreciate it while you can.
Welp, I am done with the series now then. Not a fan of this betrayal of loyalty for Playstation fans. Unless I find a way to mod it onto PlayStation 5, I will just quit. Don't care if people are okay with this. I am not happy, and I'll probably be angry about it for a long time. I was heavily looking forward to the series.
@Kyloctopus I agree with not deviating TOO MUCH, a little bit is good as long as it is optional. I would love some new optional content. I played the Tennis and Car game in Mario Party 5 so much in my childhood. It made me so happy.
But if I could pick between the best content in the Party Mode itself, or the extra content, I would definitely pick the Party Mode.
Would also like new mechanics that were fun. Like the day/night system in 6. I wish some boards had that. Hell no to cars though.
@PcTV Unfortunately, "useless changes" like this one are the FASTEST ones they can implement. I may not like Blizzard, nor support the toxic environment they were committed to, but lets be honest here. Which takes longer; a legal battle with the state, a name change, or a massive restructuring of the entire game company?
OF COURSE they are name changing, replacing offensive assets, and doing everything they possibly can IN THE MOMENT to save face. It is just so much quicker, will help with their court case, and it will generate good headlines for the press.
Will they stop getting accused of not doing enough? Of course not. It's too late. A person took her life. Many women worked at blizzard in fear for who knows how long. Other men who worked at Blizzard that didn't like the immaturity were probably afraid out of fear of being harassed as well, and the LGBTQ+ harassment was off the charts. Of course they get the backlash. When you've spent so long being toxic alpha male wannabes, even the little changes aren't enough. I absolutely understand that. Just want to show a bit of perspective here.
I'm concerned. CD Project Red started as one of the most humble and interesting studios of AAA games. The way they approach updates and DLC is commendable. I even love how well they communicate with fans.
But.. ever since Cyberpunk 2077 they just can't get their act together, and I'm worried. Now they pick up a studio that needs some serious help with its challenges? Why couldn't they just pick up a studio that actually would have provided them a better reputation, and more IPs that don't fall flat in fans faces.
Either its a high risk they know they can achieve, or they will fall and be faded for history.. it is hard to tell. It could go either way, and they better be careful.
They absolutely need to add new hairstyles already. The fact that its been five years and not one hairstyle revamp has come out.. is ridiculous. The game seriously needs a new avatar upgrade. Especially with a game that is supposed to represent diverse people from all over the world.
Where are the black hairstyles? Where are the variety of haircuts that people tend to have? Come on Gamefreak..
This is just an excuse to be close to the same price range as PlayStation. They only want to make a reason for people to pay more. I give it one or two generations and 50$ will be the normal price. Which I wouldn't mind for one year, IF they actually had some of the beloved features of other console networks. Like party chat, and actual discord support (which is coming to PlayStation.)
I'm so mad that they did Secret Bases dirty. They were my favorite feature in Gen 3 and 4. If there isn't a place where I can decorate a real secret base, I will be livid.
@Darlinfan all they have to do is make an easier mode that let's you have a slightly higher chance to block the E.M.M.I. and make standard enemies hurt a little less. Then add color blind options.
It's not as hard as you think, and the idea of games just having to be hard, because that's the way they are meant to be is ableism.
People who like it harder than normal can have it their way, but don't make it worse for those that need it to be a little bit easier. What is normal for someone else might be excruciating for another person.
Unfortunately some games remain inaccessible, and people are supportive of this. I tried mentioning how inaccessible Metroid: Dread is on reddit due to the E.M.M.I. and how gated off this game will be for people with disabilities, and most people just gave me the equivalent of a shrug and mentioned that not all games are supposed to be accessible. Just woow.. hopefully more work continues to be done. People disappoint me.
@LillianC14 I'm queer, trans, and also equally annoyed with this guy, but I'm still going to mourn his death. Death is death. There is no coming back as far as we know.
I'm torn because I did not like the man at all due to his homophobic, and nationalist tendencies, but at the same time his music was amazing. I hope he is resting in peace, and that the things haunting him in his head are no more.
He was a great but difficult composer, and Dragon Quest will suffer in the music department, but will probably find a sense of moving on in a different direction without him.
Please forgive me if this offended any
one that is reading this, but this is my take. He lived a controversial life, and it's hard for some to separate that from his brilliant work.
@Olliemar28 I never said it wasn't doing well, but without Castlevania, it does often feel like something is missing, especially when it is in the genre name. I respect history and would love it if it were more relevant again.
I love this. One of my favorite things about Breath of The Wild was learning more about life outside of Hyrule Town. Sure the enticement of imagining the game as a bustling Hyrule is there, it did give strength to the outside places we know and love in Zelda. The game showed me that the citizens of Hyrule are Hyrule, not just the place. So long as there is just one soul fighting for it, Hyrule will always be.
I only wanted more of that outside of the main area kind of vibe. I always wondered if Hyrule had any island colonies, or even better, what its neighbors were like. We don't see them that often.
With Metroid coming out of the void, I think that Castlevania should too. It would bring these games back into the current generations. It would inject new inspiration and life into the Metroidvania genre.
A new Castlevania is welcome. Perhaps even a 3D remake to get the gears going. I think remakes are great for getting studios back into the fold, rather than going all in blind on a new platform. I believe that Samus Returns taught Nintendo and Mercury Steam a lot of things before they ended up making Metroid: Dread. Without It I don't think the development of Dread would have turned out as well as it seems to be. There is no reason Castlevania couldn't have the same. If they did, I would suggest doing Symphony of the Night. Although Aria of Sorrow, or Rondo of Blood would be pretty great entries. They shouldn't venture too far out of the remake territory, because the next games need to be something that is easily recognizable as classic Castlevania. With the Netflix series over, and the spin off in the making, the kettle is hot. The timing couldn't be more perfect for it, and a brand new original game.

Re: Hisuian Growlithe Distribution Announced For Pokémon Legends: Arceus (US)
They could have at least made it a free alpha or something. Maybe even an exclusive move. >..>
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Has Now Been Downloaded Over 10 Million Times
Really? People like this cash grab bait? This is the WORST one.
Re: Review: Pokémon Legends: Arceus - One Of The Greatest Pokémon Games Ever Made
My wishlist for this games future:
Re: A New Limited-Time Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Statue Distribution Event Has Begun
@VoidofLight in my household we get a stocking that we are privy too as soon as we wake up, but the big presents are not until the afternoon. Sometimes its even 2pm depending on if my parents are forced to work, so that they can see us opening when they get home.
Not every household is the same.
Re: Metroid Dread Crowned #1 In TIME's 'Best Games Of 2021'
Well deserved, but sadly TIME magazine has lost its merit. I cannot support a magazine that lists "Elon Musk as person of the year."
I'm so done with them. Congrats to Metroid though. I wish I could be happier for the award, but I'm not. :/
Re: Nintendo Minute's Kit And Krysta Say Goodbye In Their "Final Episode"
Honestly, I don't get why they do things like this. It was perfectly fine as it was.
Re: Review: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl - A Middling Pair Of Remakes
Sorry, but I love the artstyle. The fact that its replicating the DS graphics is really cool, and I wish more people could see it that way. This is probably going to be the last game we get in that style unless Black and White remakes happen, and they do the same thing. Appreciate it while you can.
Re: Phil Spencer: Elder Scrolls 6's Xbox Exclusivity Isn't About "Punishing" Other Platforms
Re: Talking Point: The Transformative Impact Of Animal Crossing: New Horizons Version 2.0
We still need the Zelda villagers. The game won't feel complete without them for me.
Re: Pokémon's Diamond & Pearl Remakes Aren't Out Until Nov 19th, But Some Seem To Already Be Playing Them
@VoidofLight I don't think these leaks are real. There is NO WAY they wouldn't say anything.
Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 2.0.0 Patch Notes - Final Major Update, Happy Home Paradise DLC And More
Last update? Really? They could do so much more.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mario Party Superstars
@Kyloctopus I agree with not deviating TOO MUCH, a little bit is good as long as it is optional. I would love some new optional content. I played the Tennis and Car game in Mario Party 5 so much in my childhood. It made me so happy.
But if I could pick between the best content in the Party Mode itself, or the extra content, I would definitely pick the Party Mode.
Would also like new mechanics that were fun. Like the day/night system in 6. I wish some boards had that. Hell no to cars though.
Re: Gallery: Another Look At Haunted Chocolatier - The New Game From Stardew Valley's Creator
Not into this. I just find it strange. Is it interesting? Yeah, but I just don't think it's the game for me. I'll try it of course though.
Re: Random: Now That Smash Is Complete, Sakurai Doesn't Have To Worry About What He Shares On Social Media
Smash will never be complete until we get Waluigi.
Re: Blizzard Has Officially Renamed Overwatch's McCree
Hope your day is wonderful and well.
Re: Flame In The Flood Developer Acquired By CD Projekt Group
Re: Pokémon GO And JD Team Up For Gyms And Pokéstops In UK And Europe
They absolutely need to add new hairstyles already. The fact that its been five years and not one hairstyle revamp has come out.. is ridiculous. The game seriously needs a new avatar upgrade. Especially with a game that is supposed to represent diverse people from all over the world.
Where are the black hairstyles? Where are the variety of haircuts that people tend to have? Come on Gamefreak..
Re: Monster Hunter Stories 2 Update Adds New Monsters And Quests - Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Sora181 I could see one more adventure. :3
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Price?
This is just an excuse to be close to the same price range as PlayStation. They only want to make a reason for people to pay more. I give it one or two generations and 50$ will be the normal price. Which I wouldn't mind for one year, IF they actually had some of the beloved features of other console networks. Like party chat, and actual discord support (which is coming to PlayStation.)
Re: Talking Point: What Would You Like To See From The Animal Crossing Direct?
Collab villagers. I want Zelda, Splatoon, Monster Hunter, and other villagers based on other games back.
Re: First Impressions: For Better Or Worse, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Look Like Extremely Safe Remakes
I'm so mad that they did Secret Bases dirty. They were my favorite feature in Gen 3 and 4. If there isn't a place where I can decorate a real secret base, I will be livid.
Re: Random: This Normal-Looking LEGO SNES Is Secretly Four Robots
What a great channel. Definitely subbed.
Re: Feature: Steven Spohn On Strides In Accessibility For Gaming, And Nintendo's Room For Improvement
Re: Nintendo's Switch Exclusive Metroid Dread Is Already Being Emulated On PC
Hopefully someone will mod in disability options, because it stands this game is unplayable.
Re: Random: Nintendo America's President Doug Bowser Celebrates The Return Of Samus
Just please add more difficulty options, and the ability to make the E.M.M.I. easier on disabilities.
Re: Feature: Steven Spohn On Strides In Accessibility For Gaming, And Nintendo's Room For Improvement
Re: Dragon Quest Composer Koichi Sugiyama Has Passed Away
@LillianC14 I'm queer, trans, and also equally annoyed with this guy, but I'm still going to mourn his death. Death is death. There is no coming back as far as we know.
Re: Dragon Quest Composer Koichi Sugiyama Has Passed Away
I'm torn because I did not like the man at all due to his homophobic, and nationalist tendencies, but at the same time his music was amazing. I hope he is resting in peace, and that the things haunting him in his head are no more.
He was a great but difficult composer, and Dragon Quest will suffer in the music department, but will probably find a sense of moving on in a different direction without him.
Please forgive me if this offended any
one that is reading this, but this is my take. He lived a controversial life, and it's hard for some to separate that from his brilliant work.
Re: Want A New Castlevania Game? You Need To Make Yourself Heard, Says Konami Director
@Olliemar28 I never said it wasn't doing well, but without Castlevania, it does often feel like something is missing, especially when it is in the genre name. I respect history and would love it if it were more relevant again.
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'Second Wind' Mod Gets Its Biggest Update Yet
I love this. One of my favorite things about Breath of The Wild was learning more about life outside of Hyrule Town. Sure the enticement of imagining the game as a bustling Hyrule is there, it did give strength to the outside places we know and love in Zelda. The game showed me that the citizens of Hyrule are Hyrule, not just the place. So long as there is just one soul fighting for it, Hyrule will always be.
I only wanted more of that outside of the main area kind of vibe. I always wondered if Hyrule had any island colonies, or even better, what its neighbors were like. We don't see them that often.
Re: It's Official, Super Nintendo World Is Getting A Donkey Kong Expansion
@SmaggTheSmug They used to, but it only lasted a couple of months. It makes me pretty sad.
Re: Want A New Castlevania Game? You Need To Make Yourself Heard, Says Konami Director
Re: It's Official, Super Nintendo World Is Getting A Donkey Kong Expansion
If only they would release a Zelda, and a Pokemon expansion. It would be a dream come true.
