I see Nintendo releasing a version of a Wii that upscales to HD and outputs HD made games. Doing so wouldn't cut out the audience that probably won't buy another system when it comes around to that time.
This is the stupid spot Nintendo put itself. Most of the people that bought a Wii aren't core gamers, and therefor don't give a %^&* about a new system when this one is fine for them. So they have to release a system with at least backwards compatibility. I just picture a Wii with HD output and prays a bigger flash memory the next logical progression for Nintendo.
The whole point of the game is to get to your goldfish. You can do this buy using various items to destroy the landscape or create things.
Looks amazing, but I fear for the price. I know Goodbye Galaxy games wanted this to be a 200 point game, but I can imagine Nintendo will say no way to that idea, they'll probably want this to be 800.
There are a few companies that care most about the story and telling a gripping realistic tale. Bioware is one and Infinity Ward is another.
And I'm sorry, but I agree. The Wii just can't do that this generation and graphics are a big factor. They do matter now matter what you defenders say. They aren't the be all end all, but if a company wants to tell an amazing story that looks realistic, then the Wii DOES suck.
I respect this company and have no issues with them bashing the Wii. It's not the right platform for Modern Warfare anyways.
This might not mean these games are coming over, just the Capcon is trying to have an engine that works with all 3 systems to cut costs. It's just that this engine was used for those games. Doesn't mean we'll see them on the Wii.
This is rediculous. If this is true, Nintendo is being really dumb. Not only would this eat the first DSi's sales, but the first DSi was quite a letdown to begin with that most people would pass on this. Considering there's no way to convert your DSiWare games over, what's the point really? Unless it plays movies REAL music files, a wicked browser, better online shop, skyp and is basically the Iphone but not, then maybe it'll be good, but knowing Nintendo it'll be meh.
Well I give up on Nintendo handhelds. They're clearly going the way of Apple and coming out with minor upgrades ever couple of years, cept apple games are backwards compatible where Nintendo handhelds eventually stop being backwards compatible.
The go's sales will surge when it drops to 199, but Sony needs to get a lot more games online ASAP. I'm aware that there are legal issues with relicensing games for another media but get on that quick Sony.
See this is why NoA NEEDS to have release dates, it's NOT enjoyable to log on during an early Monday morning only to hear a collective sigh with a couple cools in that large sigh.
The PSP Go blows the DS out of the water in so many ways. The only thing that Nintendo wins is, obviously the most important, is the games.
PSN Store destroys DSiWare The PSP looks WAY better It can view images, audio and video The internal storage is far superior and I'm sure the browser is better.
But because the PSP Go's main games lack in comparison to DS retail games, DS wins. That and the price is a bit high.. If it was 199....
Ghostfire really outdid themselves. When a small developer makes a game that is as good as a Nintendo powerhouse IP, you know they really cared.... Or Nintendo doesn't anymore. lol
"A good move by Sega, I wonder does reviving this character mean they may revive Shenmue, I can dream can't I, in any case its good to see Ryo on wii."
I would assume it's just fan service for now. I mean Smash Bros had a ton of character we'll probably never see games for in a long time, if ever again.
This is one advantage Reggie has over this guy. Reggie is a marketer and, for the most part, knows when to shut up... And also usually knows what he's talking about. lol
aka: if you're not a marketing talk to your PR firm first before you have potential buyers laughing at you.
Game WAS amazing but it didn't age well at all. Some will want a higher score for nostalgic reasons, but anyone new to RPGs is best trying the later FF games like V or VI or even the Playstation ones.
I ordered me up a DS Iplayer. lol well...that can't load commercial roms, but that's the point with many people. People get r4s for the homebrew apps, since Nintendo never gives what the public wants.. I just believe because Nintendo drives consumers to these devices that they find out that you can play retail games on them.
I bet if Nintendo just sucked up the licensing fees and made a video player, virtual handheld, and other PDA like functions a lot of people would stop using R4 cards, most people are honest, but if they want something they're going to get it.
Now it seems instead of listening to consumers, Nintendo's just going the music industry route by suing everyone.
What!? Japan doesn't have friend codes!? WTF! I'll pay for companies to run servers if that means I don't have to deal with that pile of $%^& called Friend Codes!
I would've given it a 1/10. It's just pathetic that Nintendo would make this kind of money grab. I'm more and more tempted to get an Ipod touch or PSP because their online systems are SO much better, it's like night and some super nova day....I actually hate Nintendo when it comes to online content.
It's a little hard to know since the boxes are so small, but you can play with 1 system. While your setting up a game, you can turn the AI off, meaning you can control it. So you essentially can just pass the system around.
This really will just lead more people to piracy just to get the basic uses out of games that they have now, like Mushroomer said, lending it to a friend and what not.
If you don't give consumers what they want, they'll get it regardless. Nintendo knows this and they should know acting this way will just bit them in the arse later on.
If this is the case, then if my DSi dies I'm just simply not going to buy another DS system, or I"ll buy a DSL used and just forget about Nintendo being anywhere near acceptable digital distributors.
I like Gameloft, they really try with most of their games now.... At least on the Iphone... They are somewhat restricted with their ambitions with Nintendo's ridiculous rules.
I like DQWars being out, but I find it moronic that Second Semester is just added tools and new lessons for the same price. It should've been in one app for 1000 points. It's just NIntendo up to their usual milking. I think I'll pass on that one.
I only mentioned promoting the shop because it's one of the major issues Nintendo has. With the other system price drops, the Wii's price was a big issue, but now it's dealt with, but the problem with the majority of Wii owners probably don't even know the system can go online is still a big problem.
I know NIntendo may not care, but I do. Many WiiWare games surpass the quality of most retail Wii games.
That's good for potential Wii owners, but this might be bad for NIntendo. Now when someone gets a Wii they'll be like WOAH, 2 games that I can play forever with. Why buy any other games? It can go online? Meh!
My name Hardy came out of my bum back in highschool when I was participating in lan parties for Starcraft with some school mates. I had to think of a user name and people were yelling at me to hurry up so I just put Hardy in there for no apparent reason. And I just kept it ever since as my electronic user name for everything.
Now they just need to work on making their WiiConnect24 actually mean what it's called.... And promote the DSi and Wii online shops, much much much much much MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUUUUUUUUUUUUCH more.
So now that there's 3 Clubhouse Express games with 5 games each. It's not blatantly obvious that Nintendo is ripping off the consumer now because they are on top.
$15 bucks for 15 games with no online $19 bucks for 42 games with online Same game, different distribution, the $19 one being the more expensive form.......Yeah... Thanks for ripping us off and giving us crap recycled games Nintendo.
"Meh, was mildly interested before, but if the controls lean towards traditional gamepad, with the motions simply being substitutes, I have no particular interest."
Have you even played the first game? Motion controls weren't even a big part to begin with. Just with wrestling moves and finishers. Why would you even say such a thing if you've played the first game... Or have you?
"The episodic Wiiware games should be a part of history since the new Wii system update that came with GH5 that allows direct to SD card DLC and HCSD compatibility, plus faster launching and accessing from SD."
No. That's different. retail games can have DLC saved and loaded from the SD card, however WiiWare still have to stay within the 40MB limit, which is why you see most DLC WiiWare content being only some clothing or a couple new items. Things that take less then a megabyte to include.
Any issues you have with WiiWare more then likely are a result of Nintendo's restrictions. Developers are just trying to get the most out of WiiWare with them. Imagine how good Monkey Island would run if the limit wasn't 40MB Imagine how big LostWinds would be if it wasn't 40MB?

The word idiot comes to mind, especially when the games your talking about are made, published and sold by entirely different companies.
Re: BIT.TRIP BEAT Updated!
WiiWare can update games? Does that mean games with bad controls can update? If the dev is willing?

Re: Iwata: WiiWare Demos Are Coming
I bet NoJ will test it, launch it in Japan, then EU will pick it up a couple months later.
And NoA will say it's not needed and never give it to us.
Re: Nintendo Download: Fights, Shooters, Sparkles, Vikings, Dragons, Carnivals, Escapes and Card Games (US)
Nice to see Nintendo charging us for updated to their photo system instead of just updating it for free.
Re: Nintendo To Bring 3G Connectivity To The DS?
So they're thinking about doing it? Well I guess that means we'll never see it then since a new DS is a couple years away.
Re: Review: Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 3 (WiiWare)
Wish their games were for Macs. I don't want to get this one because of the technical issues, but I blame Nintendo for this, not Telltale.
Re: Review: PictureBook Games: The Royal Bluff (DSiWare)
I agree that DSiWare is being over crowded with puzzle/card games. There just isn't much variety right now.

Putt putt is definitely the best one of the 5. The rest range from bland to meh but for 2 bucks you can't really go wrong with any of them.

This guy is right because everyone has been saying this for years now. 3 years to be exact.
Re: Official: DSiWare Purchases Cannot Be Transferred to a New Console
I know digital distribution gives less rights to the consumers, but this is just $%^&ing stupid.
You know what. I really hope someone hacks the DSi cause the lack of support Nintendo gives for their services now a days deserves to be punished.

DsiWare is LOOKING better and better... It still need to BE better.
Re: Rage of the Gladiator to Support Wii MotionPlus
Jebus that looks awesome! lol totally buying it!
What's the price? 1000? 1500? I'd buy it for 1500, but I'm sure most would prefer 1000.
Spread the word people, we know WiiWare devs don't have the budget to advertising, and this game looks like it deserves to be a success.
