Makes me surprised Excite bots is still being sent out.
I mean I guess it makes sense to stop making copies of a game that's a few years old and not selling, but Bowser's Inside Story and Metroid Trilogy? Those games aren't even a YEAR old.
Erm, most games take around 4 to 5 years to make, from conception to post production. The public only really hear about the game when it enters production of the game, conception could take 1-2 years. I see nothing wrong with this length.
Well, with Nintendo you never hear about the game really till it's ready to be headed out the door now a days.
Everyone will just blame everyone else on this issue when in reality it's all those issues mixing together to make a very scary business proposition for third party companies, especially in this economy.
It makes sense for Sega to focus on other systems for "serious" or "core" or whatever like Bayonetta because the return on investment will be FAR FAR superior than anything the Wii can give them no matter the reason. I thank Sega for the good games either way.
Looking forward to Endless Ocean 2 but the rest of the stuff I don't care, ans I know coloured systems/remotes usually sell well, but I still think it's moronic to even release them.
Nintendo should stick to the old ford model of colours. "You can have any colour car, as long as it's black" cept white for Nintendo.
5-10 hours of gameplay for a probably 7-10 dollar game is massive.
Yes it may seem like a lot for a total of 24 - 30 bucks, but that's the beauty of buying it in parts. You don't feel the game is worth the rest of your money, well I'm sure you were entertained for 7-10 bucks.
People are right. Sky Crawlers is scheduled for January 5th, it would be wise to release this game while people who are fans of this type of game are JUST finishing the game, so I would suggest pushing for a February release. You know, ride the hype of another game but not compete with it. But hey that's me, what do I know? I haven't even finished Advertising school yet. lol
Glad to hear that the Wiimote is like holding the plane in your hand. Aside from the nun chuck will there be other control methods? Like using the joystick on the nun chuck to control the plane, or I guess using the Wiimote like a planes flight stick (hold it upright etc etc)?
Still gonna get it and use the main method of control, but more is always nice. I'm sure you've learned your lesson from Three Musketeers.
I own it. It's still fun, but yeah the video compression is pretty bad. I'd say it's worth it if you don't have access to other versions, but the fault for the bad compression is Nintendo's because they set the size restrictions, and they set the moronic 20MB limit where every other digital medium is at least 100MB or no limit.
I don't doubt the DSi's graphics capabilities, I questions them being able to fit in all the video with Nintendo's size restrictions for DSiWare, which to my knowledge, is 20MB.
I think governments and rating boards are getting a little carried away with rating video games, considering there's nothing in this game that would, say if it was a movie, make it higher then a G.
I guess, I'm happy that the ESRB seems to have the most sensible raters.
Jeez some of you guys are harsh. lol Give em a change, just don't download it at all if you really don't like it. lol Kids and their feeling of annonymos presence on the Internet that gives them the NEED to come on here and express to strangers how much they randomly or justifiably hate something as if it's some sort of plague.
A couple game breaking bugs, but other then that I thought this was an amazing game.... I was sad at the end though... He went through all that and nothing really changed in the end, it was like it never happened.
I can't imagine the Wii will recover. Not just because I think the software is a little stale in comparison to some of the heavy hitters from 360 and PS3, but the simple fact that not everyone in the world is a gamer no matter how much Nintendo targets the blue ocean. I think they're system sales have peaks simply because almost everyone that's even willing to play a video game already owns a Wii. Sony on the other hand probably is no where NEAR the household penetration that Nintendo has now so it can only go up.
I personally think it's high time to introduce a new update on the Wii, not the next gen system but just a new version, a slim if you want to call it that. Strong software next year will help yes, but again, I don't think it'll be like last year or when the Wii came out.
@Odnetnin Yes better late than never and I'm loving the demo system, but I'm still not going to pat Nintendo on the back for this one. lol I personally believe this should've been on their online systems since 2006, so I won't congratulate them for something I think it 3 years late.
Also it BETTER stay and let any dev make a demo for their game, or like XBLA that a demo should be required. Obviously separate the demos off the top 20 chart though, so the good games can still be seen.
"they are the biggest failure of a company since data design interactiv"
Not even REMOTELY close. Even if this games are bad, they are budget games that are 10 bucks or less, they do not compare at all to games that were prices at 30 dollars for and hour or broken gaming.
Downloaded it. Love it. I agree that NIntendo themselves should've had an app like this from the beginning but I'm glad a third party came in to fix Nintendo's mistakes AGAIN. lol
People hate her, but it's her job. She's the one that answers the questions for people about Nintendo. The problem is that she doesn't decide what can be answered and what can't, people like Reggie are... So the fact that she never really answered anything or just spit out BS wasn't her decision. It's just her job.
It's like calling customer service for your cell phone and yelling at them about the service when they have nothing to do with it.
Considering she was with Nintendo, I'm sure she'll have an easy time finding another well payed job. Best of luck.
I believe this. It's pretty obvious, especially when you look at the 64 VC. There is NO WAY that no company wants to rerelease their 64 games on VC.
And if you've ever noticed that when Nintendo releases on of their games on DSiWare or WiiWare/VC they tend to release either nothing or crap games along with it. It's clear they either hold or block third parties releasing games.
I fear because of the amount of holes, Nintendo will force them to make this an 800-1000 point purchase, even though if you look at the charts, the 200 point games are clearly dominating the sales.
Why not mail a letter instead of call someone? Why not read a book instead of watch TV? Why drive when you can walk or use a horse and buggy? Why have kids when you can use the money on yourself?
It would be nice is there was VO in a Zelda game though. Obviously not Link, but everyone else would be nice.
I know Miyamoto san wants players to feel like they are link and all that crap, but seriously, the rest of the cast in the game don't need to be mute as well.
"@diego: So why don't they make commercials on big networks like other publishers?"
Because the Wiis userbase is so fragmented unless you carpet bomb media, who knows if you're hitting your target market. The age range for the Wii is like 5-54. You know how hard that is to target with media? It's next to impossible unless you buy ALL ad space.
Everyone also seems to not notice the trend on pricing. Lets face it, the Wii comes off as cheap, and everyone sees this. So when a game comes out at full this gen pricing, say 49 dollars, no matter how good the game is, most people tend to wait till it drops to 29.
Why this is? I don't know, maybe it has something to do with the graphics, or it's just the users, but I see "I'll wait till it's 20 bucks" ALL the time.
Most third parties don't have the money to advertise. Companies try, I see it all the time, and big companies like EA do seem to try, but it still doesn't seem to work.
Is Nintendo to blame? Absolutely. They have more than enough ability to help companies promote games, they have special mediums to do so (Nintendo channel, Nintendo store) but they rarely use those. The Nintendo Channel yes, but since they don't promote it itself how many people actually look at that channel?
I also blame Nintendo for the volatile market they've created. Their blue ocean strategy has brought in SO many consumers that probably have only bought 1-3 games, Nintendo games. These people don't look for game ads or even more game. They are content with Sports and Resort.
I knew from the beginning that Nintendo's strat to get non-games would sell systems, but bite them in the rear. Real gamers probably have more than one systems and get the "core" games on that.
I honestly don't know if Nintendo can fix it this generation. Their lack of effort to make games to attract the core gamers (ones that buy multiple games) is just killing hope for good third party games.
Oh it's milking. Considering this game as a whole could be a DSiWare game. The retail cart is only 16MB, and they could've put this 3+ year old game as ONE DSiWare game for 1000 points. But splitting it up into 10 games for 2000 points total is just milking an old game.
Nintendo really doesn't seem to care about what people think of DSiWare because I've NEVER seen games system that are so bad in quality be released by Nintendo themselves. At least in this quantity.

LOL That would be AWESOME!
Re: Sega to Abandon Mature Wii Audience?
The more time goes by the more I see Nintendo's next system being in the same boat as the Gamecube was in with regards to third party support.

It's FOX. If you want to see actual humans doing news you should watch the Daily Show or something.

Re: Review: A Little Bit of... Magic Made Fun: Psychic Camera (DSiWare)
It's hilarious that Nintendo themselves are creating the most shovelware on DSiWare and it's the third parties that are making the quality stuff.
As a famous director would say.
"What a twist!"
Re: Dragon's Lair DSiWare Trailer Released
I'll get it if it has all the animations of the original, which I doubt because of Nintendo's retarded size restrictions.

How will they fit all the video in? That's gotta be some crazy compression if they do.

It's a good update even though 5 of the DSiWare games don't really count.

It wasn't the challenge that bothered me is the sheer annoyance of repeating going back there and having a time limit no less.
