Re: Reggie Defends High Download Price Point

Hardy83

He's totally right, Apple should be charging 2-12 bucks for crappier software like Nintendo does with WiiWare and DSiWare. lol

Yes some of the game could sell for a higher price, but then again, being a buck makes A LOT of purchases.

Do you think Infinity Blade would sell for $40? Pffft, no, but at $7 it moved a lot.

Re: Talking Point: Is the DS Dead at Retail?

Hardy83

Retailers stock the games that sell, and unfortunately because the market Nintendo went for (well it wasn't unfortunate for them) that market made the "traditional" gamer a minority.

Games like Castlevania and Okami will never sell as well as Ubisofts Imagine no matter what the quality difference is.

There's more money in the mass market, but it's always at the cost of quality.

Re: Reggie: Steel Diver Makes Up for Lack of Zelda at Launch

Hardy83

See people. This is why I don't listen to Reggie anymore. His job is to make Nintendo look like God, but almost everything he says just makes him sounds like a loony.

Not saying that Steel Diver isn't a good game, it probably is, just the words coming out of his mouth is poo. lol

Re: Pachter: Nintendo Should Charge More for 3DS

Hardy83

One of the rare times I disagree with him. I think it should be LOWER.

He would agree that Apple is competition, and their 199 4th gen Ipod Touch will probably say a lot of parents looking at their wallet.
Heck the PSP now stands at a pretty cheap price point.

I expect it to sell but there's a lot more competition out there then when the DS was released.

Re: Nintendo Defends European Retailers' Pricing of the 3DS

Hardy83

Unfortunately I feel that consumers wont' respond to it being a rip off price, well not he masses anyways.

I mean with that price you could get a pretty good Netbook or a PSP with a TON of games or even an Ipod Touch 4th Gen for less.

The 3DS will sell, but I'm really wondering about the long term appeal of it, when we all know 3D smartphones and heck, maybe even a PSP will be on the market within 12 months.

I say import an American one.

Re: PES 2011 3D Launching this Spring, No Mention of Online

Hardy83

What do you expect? Launch titles for the most part are always rushed games to get the big software sales in before there is more competition.

Though I don't think it looks like a DS title, it does look pretty basic. Course then again I'm barely even pay attention to Football.

Re: 3DS Hardware Details

Hardy83

I still think it was dumb not to have 2 cameras on the inside. Not like the cameras are super expensive high quality anyways....course then again they said it wouldn't be able to record video either out of the box.

Re: 3DS Hits North America on March 27 for $249.99

Hardy83

Should note that it's 3 launch titles during the systems launch DAY.
Within the week he said there would be 7 or something, and by the next E3 they'll be over 30 gamesish.

Also $250 is too much for me. Dunno about other people.

Re: Nintendo's 3DS Events - We Want Your Questions!

Hardy83

Friend codes. How do they work on the 3DS. Why did you keep them?

Online demos?

Is the quality of digital content going to be improved?
Is there actually going to be a list of digital content coming out or will it be a surprise every week again?

Re: Iwata Hints at 3D Video Recording with Future 3DS Updates

Hardy83

Some of you are concearned about watching the videos on another device? You DO know this is Nintendo we're talking about right? A company that made some of the most restrictive camera image files on the planet?

Also, this should've been on the system day one, not a carrot on a stick BS. They're stealing ideas from apple, in actually stole them from Nintendo.
Stop holding stuff back for no reason. Like the stupid SD card solution just so you can pat youselves on the pat during an event...

Re: Nintendo Has "No Plans" to Bring Last Story Westward

Hardy83

Is anyone surprised? Unless it sells 4 bazillion copies at the same price point for 3 years, Nintendo doesn't seem (NoA or NoJ) to care about porting games.

Face it, this game would've sold 1 million MAYBE two. That sounds like a lot but we all know that's not worth the effort for Nintendo...though they did port golden sun 3 and that probably didn't sell well.

Re: WiiWare Super Meat Boy Gets Canned

Hardy83

You can blame Team Meat all you want, but this is just an example of how a company/group had a set standard on what they wanted their game to be and the platform just didn't let them keep it.

Why some of you would attack Team Meat for having a standard for their games is beyond me.

They couldn't fit the quality they wanted in (what everyone I know considers archaic and dumb) Nintendo's 40MB size limit, is perfectly fine with me. They have the game out in other platforms, I'm sure many of you have at least a PC or a 360.

Re: EA: Nintendo Needs to Drop Wii Price, Help Third Parties

Hardy83

But EAs games like EA Active sell like mad though, their games sell. Not all of them but they do have big sellers.

And Nintendo's 3rd party support does suck, they barely do anything to help third parties, and it doesn't just have to be money. I mean a simple way to promote games on the Wii would be nice, but any attempt at that has been half-arzed by Nintendo every time.

Re: Help WiiWare Demos Get a Time Extension and Win BIT.TRIP FATE

Hardy83

Please, Nintendo already knows demos increase sales. The demos were on the top spots their entire time last year, they just don't care about keeping demos.

A. The system they have doesn't isn't set up for demos properly.
B. Pfft That means they aren't cavemen when it comes to online functionality.

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops (Wii)

Hardy83

I don't blame IGN for giving it an okay store instead of a 9. They HAVE to compare it to the other versions. It's not like their comparing it to Halo or Medal of Honor, they are just comparing it to the other versions of black ops, thus they had to consider if it's worth your money, which obviously it isn't if you have access to another system.
It'll be rare for games like this to score high on any site, because their better brother on another system will just over shadow it.

Re: GoldenEye's Success "Proves Core Games Sell on Wii"

Hardy83

It's okay publishers! Core games DO sell on the Wii system COUGHwithaheavydoesofnostalgia
I mean SURE there are a few dead bodies of games behind us with very marginal games that made it through, most of them bad ironically, but third parties. If you give us your money I guarantee you that their might be a change you may sell a copy or two. COUGHaslongasyouhaveagamethathasexistedyearsagoandislovedbyourlunaticfans....COUGH.

Re: Nintendo Expecting Consumers to Buy Ho-Ho-Hardware This Christmas

Hardy83

I think that was in comparison to the previous year. Which it didn't, but it was still a large number, just no where near as good as the year before. The same will most likely be said about this year. Still good numbers, but still a decline.

And I also don't really listen to Reggie anymore. I don't consider him a buddy because he says he's a "gamer", I don't believe a word he says because A, he has no say when it comes to stuff being done in Nintendo of Japan, and B, He's a marketer first and foremost so half the stuff he says is BS just to sound awesome (This is coming from a marketing grad).

I have doubts the Wii will sell 15 million more units, unless they are going to drop the price to like 129 or something.

Re: Miyamoto Hints at Wii Music Sequel to Change Things Up

Hardy83

No, the original was pretty bad.
Aside from the crap midi tunes, the fact there was next to no options and a VERY VERRRRY limited music selection.

I mean there was a side mode in one of the Guitar Heroes games for the Wii that did a better job than Wii Music in it's entirety.
.....Yet the game sold more then actual good games.

Re: Exclusive: Nintendo Bringing Back WiiWare Demos

Hardy83

Pfft, this is pathetic. They throw demos out for the holiday season when it's blatantly clear that they should be year round.
I mean they should've gotten it in their thick skulls to keep demoes when all the demos last time shot up to the top spots and the developers confirmed sales increased.

But nope, that would mean Nintendo would have to point out that it's it's online service is a mess and is need of a fix, not their typical "we're always improving so next gen it'll be much better" BS they always spout.

I love a handful of games on WiiWare, but WiiWare itself is a complete write-off and should go the way of WiiSpeak and the Dodo.

Re: DS to Have Life After 3DS, says Nintendo

Hardy83

Expect crap Nintendo titles that most people ignore in their support. Any AAA games, or even AA games will be made for the 3DS.

When the DS came out, or Wii how many AAA Nintendo games came out for the GBA or Cube? Twilight Princess? Yeah, but that's because it WAS a gamecube game.

Re: 3DS Shopping Channel Details and First Video Emerge

Hardy83

I'm pessimistic but also impressed.

I want to know what social options are available for the system as well as how well it browses the web.
Also Skype or similar video chat?

Also what movie/audio formats can it play? Can photos actually be put ON the system.

Re: Telltale's Back to the Future Not Coming to Wii

Hardy83

Does this surprise anyone? Telltale's games are usually over 300MB if not over a Gig and some of you expected them to cram it in 40MBs?

As for a Disc release, Telltale doesn't really do disc games aside from PC. Yeah there were a couple on Wii, but I'm guessing their sales didn't justify the hassle of making it.

And face it, an SD system in this day and age wouldn't do the games art justice. Just like it didn't do A Boy and His Blob or Muramasa justice

Though HD isn't the most likely reason for the port not coming (it was most likely money).

To me personally, the Wii is dead. I want the new Nintendo system. Nintendo milked it for FAR too long when it was release already outdated.

Re: Zoonami: Nintendo Not Generating Enough Interest in Downloads

Hardy83

Nintendo's digital distribution on both DSi and Wii have been a joke day one. Obviously some people defended it and some held out hope, but if this generation is any indication of future systems, they'll need more than first party games to convince the growing smartphone genertaion.

Re: Fils-Aime: Nintendo's Biggest Current Threat is Apple

Hardy83

Nintendo's biggest threat is themselves. They had SO many chances to play Apple at their own game with bite sized apps, releasing better hardware sooner and creating a more multimedia friendly device.

Nope. They are too cheap and supported only AAC in a crappy media player, no video player, no video chat, barely any online functionality what so ever and probably one of the worst digital services I've ever seen that I feel really bad for developers of it, like Wayforward.

Re: Japanese 3DS Surveys Reveal Awareness Low, Price Too High

Hardy83

Nintendo would be stupid to put the 3DS over 250. With the PSP virtually (almost) on par technically with the 3DS, the only thing going for it is the 3D screen..Which I believe will be outdated with 6-12 months of the release when mobile devices start using the tech.

Though honestly I think mobile devices over here will take a bigger chunk out of 3DS sales than the PSP.

It won't be a failure like the virtual boy, but I don't think it'll come anywhere near what the DS sold, not until Nintendo gets it's head out of it's own rear when it comes to their online system and potential 3G wireless internet built in.

I'm just talking about the NA market. Japan seems to be okay with carrying more than one device, bah whatever, we'll see in 4 months.

Re: n-Space CEO Describes the Games Industry as a Mess

Hardy83

The problem with movies is at this time they are cheaper to make then games. Indie films cost next to nothing and only a handful of big budget movies surpass the cost of a big budget game, forcing companies to charge games for 60-80 dollars.

There's also the issue of value. Movies get you a 1.5-3 hour of value, maybe a couple more viewings, but consumers are now expecting at LEAST 20 hours of gameplay for a single player game and an almost unlimited amount for multiplayer.

Combine the expectations of replay value and the cost of actually making the games people will buy, you're damn right the industry is in a horrible situation...Well not all of the industry.

"indie" games, if you even want to call them that anymore, will survive. cheap apps on phones are thriving because the cost meets consumer demand, even though most might give someone about half an hour of entertainment.

So yeah, N-Space is right that either you're an "indie" game maker or a huge budget AAA game maker. There is a growing gap in between.

Who's at fault? Ehhh..In my eyes, everyone, consumer and industry are both at fault, though I'm sure some will disagree.

I think it might get better when/if the industry decides to start selling games at half the cost but essentially half the game were DLC really is half the game, but until then, consumers need to get out of the mindset that games have to be a single cost thing now, where everything is in the box so to speak.
Games now a days provide far more value then the old PSN, SNES and NES days. That form of selling games just doesn't work anymore.

Re: Ghost Recon Shows Different Strategy to Invade Wii

Hardy83

YAWN, another 3rd person war game...There's like what? 5 on the Wii.....WAY too many..

Wait it's on rails? OMG There's like 5 of those too! CRAAAAAAP!!!

Yeah, it's totally the devs fault for games like this and RS2 failing, not Nintendo in any way...Or the barely existing Wii "core" audience...Yeah..YAWN!

Re: High Voltage Employees Get Layoff Shock

Hardy83

HSV is fine, it's the moron fan base that hyped up the games beyond what they always were because at the time they were starving to death for good third party "core" games.
When HVS said that they'll try really hard to please, people thought they were Jesus or something which is insta kill for any game, especially games made by companies that don't have the funding of EA or Activision. lol
