Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Targeting A 2024 Release For The Switch Successor

@epicgamner hardware chips capable of 4k gaming have gone down in price significantly compared to 2017, I’m not saying to match exactly the ps5 and Xbox series cause that would impossible since even Sony had to make the ps5 big to avoid over heating, I’m thinking more of ps4 pro where the chip is capable of 2k graphics with checkerboard upscaling to 4k, technology have progress over the last 7 years and I’m sure Nintendo can find a chip that would fit in the Nintendo Switch successor with the same capability as ps4 pro without driving up the cost.

@LilyGoMEOW nope wii u’s specs is slightly above ps3 while the Switch has 75% the power of base ps4 on dock mode, google it and see for yourself. Plus the wii u have a unique architecture making game development even more complicated on top of the hardware being weak, while the Switch use unreal engine 4 making it easier for 3rd party developers to port their games since it’s only 25% weaker that base ps4 on dock mode and is much easier to develop games for.

@Arawn93 speak for yourself, Specs do make consoles better aside from the hardware gimmick & games, why do you think the Wii U failed? It’s because the hardware is weak so no third party developer wants to develop games for it, Switch is more powerful when it launched that’s why 3rd party developers started getting on board with it building the switch’s momentum, but 7 years later it’s starting to show its age, that’s why a more powerful capable hardware will be launch next year in 2024 because Nintendo themselves recognize that the switch’s specs is weak and they can’t keep developing newer games with old & outdated hardware.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Targeting A 2024 Release For The Switch Successor

Dragonite89

@electrolite77 Yes they do, most games nowadays are bottlenecked with low resolution & laggy framerates due to switch’s outdated specs and some third party developers resort to cloud version games due to switch being old & underpowered…Nintendo needs to stop being cheapskates and use a powerful chip that can close the gap with ps5 & xbox series, many portable chips capable of 4k have significantly gone down in price, it’s just Nintendo being stingy and feeding their fanbase dirt which they are so used to…and besides you’ll buy it too when it releases in 2024, so I find people who contradict others about a more powerful Switch successor and wanting to be stuck with old weak hardware to be hypocrites, since they’ll be the first in line the moment Nintendo releases the more powerful Switch hardware.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Targeting A 2024 Release For The Switch Successor

Dragonite89

@Cashews well your opinion about people not interested in powerful hardware anymore such as ps5, xbox & PC is just plain wrong, ps5 is doing just fine with $40+ million sales and counting in 3 years, and people who have Switch tend to also buy a ps5, and microsoft not only has xbox but also pc, so Nintendo ain’t really dominating them…Nintendo needs to stop being cheapskates and actually give their fans who are so used to being fed with breadcrumbs a competitive hardware that can run latest games without bottleneck or devs resorting to cloud because of how underpowered the Switch is.

@Cashews speak for yourself, ps5, Xbox, and PC are miles better than the Switch, and Nintendo needs to keep up & stop being a cheapskate and put powerful hardware that can compete with Sony & Microsoft, many hardware chips capable of 4k have gone down in price, it’s just Nintendo being stingy and feeding their fanbase breadcrumbs which their fans are so used to.

Re: The GameCube And Wii Emulator Dolphin Is No Longer Coming To Steam

Dragonite89

@Wexter Why? It’s written in the law, it’s legal & exempted (in the US)…challenging them is the only way for us consumers to stand up for our rights & set up boundaries, which these companies like to overstep whenever they can, I don’t see anything wrong with that, and everything that’s exempted & in the gray area is legal and allowed unless it’s specifically written to be illegal.

Re: The GameCube And Wii Emulator Dolphin Is No Longer Coming To Steam

Dragonite89

@smolsauce I just read the dolphin team’s blog, according to them their use of the Wii common key is exempted from copyright infringement law under 17 U.S.C. § 1201(f), if so I think they should challenge Nintendo in court to set a precedent that using and distributing such keys for emulators are legal, at least in the US.

Re: PSA: 3DS And Wii U eShop Download Codes Can No Longer Be Redeemed

Dragonite89

@nhSnork Sony at least listened to their fanbase & kept the store alive even up to now. And you can still purchase games on PS3 & PS Vita stores that would’ve otherwise skyrocketed in price had Sony actually decided to close the stores by adding funds using PS store gift cards to your Sony account. Nintendo could’ve gone the same route using the eshop cards, but they just decided to screw over their customers like they always do..

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Tera Raid Bug Replaces Paradox Pokémon With Eggs

Dragonite89

@Bobb I said the reason why it’s their fault if you read my reply objectively. No it’s not common knowledge to update your game constantly unless you’re a hardcore gamer, and most Pokémon players are casual players and kids, so there are bound to have instances where people didn’t update and still allowed to download and do the raids resulting in a Bad egg which can cause problems to someone’s game, so it’s definitely Gamefreak’s fault for not preventing people regardless of firmware to download and do the raids.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Tera Raid Bug Replaces Paradox Pokémon With Eggs

Dragonite89

@Bobb Gamefreak made it possible for people to do raids without updating their game which they shouldn’t have been allowed in the first place…They didn’t even bother to give people a warning on the Pokémon Presents that they must update to complete the raid without issue otherwise you’ll be stuck with a Bad egg which can cause problems to your save file and you can’t get rid of it unless you delete your save file & restart your game…it’s Gamefreak’s fault because they shouldn’t allowed people to do the raids on lower firmware regardless of reasons, as they have weeks & months to prepare to prevent this from happening and they didn’t tell people that updating is mandatory to do the raids.
