I'm surprised at the COD hatred on this site. I can't say I'm a fan, but you gotta admit the quality of these shooters are top notch even if it isn't your thing. Infinity Ward has a slightly cleaner approach over Treyarch, but you can choose to censor all the mature content if it seems a little extreme (I did).
New world and story? Is it going to be garbage like the vita version of blacks ops 2? I'm excited, but will be waiting for a review based on that info. No reason this shouldn't be the same game as the ps3/ps4
I think Miyamoto is right, the franchise is weak. Last year The Wipeout developer was liquidated. Gone is 'Extreme G' and others are hesitant. I think these racers may be dead, replaced by Forze, NFS, and open world car games. In my opinion, f zero went down hill after the super nes.
@DkFluttershyGuy Nice! The evil queen. Still trying to learn Kevin's dance moves, but sadly the 80's are gone. May have been more appropriate for him to be playing just dance.
@b23cdq I agree, but there's a point where developers start to short experiences to turn the full experience into an $80 or $90 purchase. Let's face it, Portal was a well polished and lengthy experience. The DLC was intentionally added later, but when a dev is talking dlc before the release that sounds more like a business decision made by managers.
DLC announcements before the game releases sounds like they shorted is the whole experience. Be realistic, a campaign should be 10 hours at least. I'm not liking this.
@Kirk There's negative press about Nindi because MS and Sony have bashing budgets, duh. If you can't beat them, tear em down. That's the notion these days. Offer hope and people will buy into it.
Supply and demand, that's why we need Sony and MS to be successful. Competitive landscape means competitive pricing. I love Nindi, but in the end they are a company making a profit, which despite the y generation's distorted mentality is not a bad thing. We want good quality companies to appease investors. Problem is we don't want oligopolies to form which inflate prices such as the Super Nintendo era. We need playstation to undercut them so they can sell and offer discounts. Sorry for the economics lesson, but I feel that pikmin 3's short campaign is an example of offering a full retail product with a partial game, just a thought. We can't let companies get away with that, or not mention in the reviews.
Ha ha ha, nope. This is pure speculation. Even if Nindi had the cash Atlus doesn't have asset pool to justify. Can't say I haven't been wrong before, but I wouldn't count on this.
@Objection I meant sadistic, demonic, or satanic. Nindi doesn't license these games, but they don't restrict them either. My point is it wouldn't be a good fit. Nintendo's market is predominantly families and friends, face to face social gaming and mature rated games where you are clearly the 'hero'. Sony is more accustomed to people playing by themselves in the dark. Just my viewpoint.
Greatest NES game was Iron Tank; like Sonic received some really lousy sequels, but unlike Sonic it disappeared into distant memory. In the 80's top down rail shooters were the most popular in my opinion.
I remember having to choose between Transformers on 360 or Wii, hd graphics or remote play. The game was excellent on both, but the hd version had longer appeal. However the Wii version was a lot more fun to play.
@fluggy I would suggest downloading Darksiders 2 on Wii U. It is the difinitive version on Wii U, which makes a huge difference. If you prefer Sony exclusives all the more power to you, but be realistic about high quality Nindi titles which haven't lost their touch. It's like saying the only music is country music and everyone should listen to that.
Wha! How come Europe gets all the meaningful promotions. Register this, get a free game. Buy this, get this. U.S. gets 'buy crappy tensai japanime for a whopping overpriced $50 and register other game fire emblem for $40, get $30 credit'. Nindi pricing is getting a little scary in the states.
Truth be told the other two are terrified of the Wii U. They can only pay third parties for exclusives and try and stear developers. I don't think there is a loyal fan base outside for Sony or MS, both are replicative of each other. The real question is for those who want a more mature rated system, which one should we get? If Wii U can line up some mature rated titles, then no need in buying another system. So it's really a matter of can we keep this system separate so the other two won't bomb. I don't wish to see $75 Nindi games again like in the 90s. Competition is good, so don't be afraid to support the other guys.
MS owns the Internet. They'll spin Nindi however which way they want. I tried googling worst moments of E3 and the majority of hits were bashing Nindi. ...and no, this isn't the worse sales for a console, it's right on par with most systems, just isn't performing as well as the record breaking Wii. Wake up and try and use your brain instead of having others do it for you.
I don't like companies saying launch window and then delaying. Be honest up front. Say 'we plan to release pikmin/rayman' if sales potential can be seen, otherwise expect them later in the year'. Don't give wishy washy explanations.
A $400 price point for the ps4 doesn't exactly say people are buying Porsche's right now. 3DS is very popular, but it doesn't mean we'll see the sales we saw when the economy was booming. 2013-2014 may be better timing to launch a system, since 2012-2013 was still in recovery. If political groups stop depressing the economy and printing phony money (inflation tax as I call it) we might actually see Nindi and friends soar at the end of the year.
Most AC games are really just expansions of the previous installment. In many ways, Watch Dogs feels like a continuation of that formula. I think it's a good business model because you know what to expect and get value out of each game. GRAW was kind of a step back, though.
Donkey Kong was played on a black system, can't remember what it was though. Looked like a Nintendo, but Nintendo use to develop for it. Later Sega Master came out and blew this console out of the water with Rambo. I'm not sure famicom was the first Nintendo since Miyamoto made most of his characters in 81 during the gaming crash. Lots of junkie systems that have been long forgotten.
That's unfortunate, but after reading EA's 10k it's clear the transition time between generations is the most detrimental. Here's to another 10 years to capcom now that they've restructured.
Basically it's him referring to virtual console and indie games. We can twist and turn, but that's all he is saying. Last Thursday we got to view an upcoming indie title and listen to the developers. That's relatively positive, but I'm not going to bank on a potential wii sports or triple a title, however it would be nice if that's in the cards.
I'm having that problem with the vita, they say there are a lot of games, but it's all Japanese garbage, nothing relevant to the English speaking countries. While I respect those who have a passion for japanime games and content, there are only a few of you. What lead to Wii's success is it's focus on the nongamer, not sure why they aren't doing that again.
I have kids so download is the only option for me, having had Mario kart and super Mario bros wii broken. You can't fork out $50 for these breaks. Downloads are convenient and fun, but I make sure it's for a game with a long life. My kids are already accustomed to using a harddrive, so expect the next generation to be okay with it. Anything else will be a collector's item.
If people are buying an Ouya for emulation, then that's not a very good deal. Indie devs have more to offer than that. Usually I'll buy a virtual console game for the compatibility, now hd graphics.
He got paid to say this. Expect more as we get closer to the console releases. They've got a lot of money to spend and their best bet is to label Wii U as weak in hardware and too replicative offering nothing new to gaming. In my opinion, I have yet to see anything revolutionary from the big two. Expect this gen to look like last.
My opinion is region locking delivers a better experience tailored to each country. It results in delays, but my experience with Sony has been little or no translation work when coming to the U.S. which was direly disappointing. This is really just negative news trying to focus on Wii U's differences with the upcoming consoles. To each his own.

With the exception of a few, Atlas makes sadistic games, it wouldn't match Nindi style at all. Sony should buy them, they have the same values.
