Re: Wii U Players Won't Be Able To Join A Clan In Call Of Duty: Ghosts

@Buduski I agree. I like Killzone being Sony's thing. I think Nintendo should have a shooter franchise. They are really missing that. They need to give Cliff Blizinski access to Metroid or Starfox and let him run with it. They need to move towards modern gaming as a compromise. That would spark long term sales for this generation. They need to stop going local with Konomi or Namco. Maybe even strike up a deal with Bungie or Naughty Dog.

Re: Review: Sonic Lost World (Wii U)

No one expects more than the annual sonic game. It's not quality people are looking for. It's plain old fashioned fun with a familiar character, that's all. This game certainly doesn't raise the bar and show off the Wii U's graphics, like some upcoming game will, but it does provide more content building the install base, which is really all Wii U needs.

Re: Nintendo UK: Awareness Is The Real Issue With The Wii U, Not Price

How they market themselves makes no difference to me. The product is good and my family absolutely loves the system. The future games look promising and I've got many great games like 101, pikmin, ac3, and Zelda to care about other platforms. I do absolutely love the Sony commercials, but content motivates my purchase. I see Nintendo as providing good services to early adopters. Their problems don't really impact us gamers.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Catch-22 With Retail Game Pricing

Dogpigfish

@Dreamcaster-X Unfortunately that's true with Nintendo. Why don't they do any digital promos? There stupid deluxe digital promo infuriates me because 32gb is not enough to own many full games and they gave everyone a disc copy of Nintendoland, which just confused me into buying the basic and a harddrive to find out later that you have to have a black console to get a discount. Nintendo apologized, but they didn't offer a resolution. Sony never does this. I hate Nintendo's pricing model; it's designed to be confusing and make people pay full price. That's why it's important Sony keeps them in their toes.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Could Have Ruled The Micro-Console Market With Wii

Some could argue that the discounted ps2 slowed the advancement of the ps3 which drifted quickly into last place in a time when modern business was booming. The only reason the ps3 is doing well now is because of big price cuts and 3 cheaper models later. Wii continuation would only confuse customers more. They need to get them off the shelves; same with the ps3 and Xbox 360 if we hope to get people to upgrade.

Re: Nintendo Wants Wii U To Be "The Console That Every Developer Wants To Publish On"

The big mistake is they assumed that they could replicate the Wii era, which was little advertising and mostly word of mouth. Investors got stingy and agreed. The problem is they abandoned marketing and ended up doing damage to the brand. Anyone who owns a Wii U (w the exception of a few trolls) loves it, but their commercial value is bland. Recently I saw another Wii U commercial and I'm embarassed. They need to re-evaluate who they have and perhaps consider notable outside resources. Sony's system is underrated and really brings nothing new to gaming, but it's in a shiny new box and the commercials are excellent.

Played this with my kids at Best Buy's E3 event and this was nothing short of revolutionary. It has some old and some new tricks, but overall is refreshing new experience like Sunshine and Galaxy. The one thing that makes this game incredible are the hd graphics, which are much more fluid than anything you'd see on an Xbox 360. Finally the leading technology meets the experts at creating fun experiences; it's a shame we had to wait so long.

Re: US Retailer Lists Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon For Wii U

@ActionMan Are you kidding? This would put Nintendo back on track to compete with Sony. Sony takes their best franchises and has them on handheld and console. This is a creative solution for capitalizing on their franchises. I would only hope they give us pikmin 3 on 3ds like they did with Donkey Kong.

Re: Feature: Five Reasons Why The 2DS Will Be The Biggest Selling Handheld This Christmas

@rjejr I agree that $129 is a little high, especially when the top games are $40. I think people see the quality in Nintendo, but rising taxes and fear of skyrocketing insurance is keeping spenders at bay. Realistically the price points for xbone and ps4 are trying to stay significantly cheaper than their predecessors. Wii U is suffering from pricing itself as a luxury item, which has plummeted over the last 5 years. Look where Porsche was when the Wii came out, making huge profits. People are very hesitant in this market. It's not about bringing something new, but rather providing an affordable entertainment option that can do more than play games. If it only plays games, then Wii U needs to be priced fairly. I have no problem paying $350 for a console, but how do you expect to convince Joe?

Re: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Shakes Up Item and Dungeon Conventions

Dogpigfish

Does anyone else see this as a major step backwards? I mean they give us an amazing version of Ocarina, the greatest Zelda of all time and now this crap? This is probably the same developer as the minish cap, which was pure crap. No more 2d nonsense, give us a triple a title already. Oh well, there is plenty of other stuff to play on 3ds, but as a huge Zelda gamer I wanted to state the obvious.
