These were brilliant entries guys. I loved the collaborative nature of the school kids and StreetPass UK videos. Pete and Shona are both very talented and should consider auditioning on X-Factor next year. Lastly Sam Tuff's entry really made me chuckle. There were many other great entries too, I wish we had more prizes.
Absolutely fantastic stuff, you guys are Animal Crossing super fans!
feel free to sing solo if you can't pursuade any friends to join you
the £100 price will be paid in 10x £10 eShop vouchers!
the winners will be selected on a purely subjective basis. i.e. the vids we feel has the best singing, or outfits, or is funniest, etc... Whatever makes you stand out basically
@Damo great article mate. It totally sums up my experience having started the game yesterday with my 5 yr old lass as my questing companion. She's been so excited watching me explore the game and has actually helped me solve some of the dungeon puzzles to my surprise.
Nintendo have definitely created a link between generations with this game. Now there are two Zelda fans in my household!
I have to say that I am really loving SteamWorld Dig and regret waiting so long to download it. I'm glad I bumped into @imageform at EGX, when I saw the passion they had for their game I instinctively knew it was something special. I was not wrong. This is an low-priced eShop game, but it really feels like a fully-fledged retail game in many ways.
I agree with a lot what Brjann says in the video interview. He's spot on about the way that the indie scene has become soured on iOS by these so-called monetisation experts. I'm sick of it myself, I would rather pay a one-off premium to buy a game which I will enjoy rather than have to ensure nags to buy extra content. That to me isn't gaming, it's akin to shoving coins in a fruit machine!
I'm with Damien on this one. I bought into all the GTA IV hype at the time and the game just did not sit right with me. I am a huge movie fan and can watch violent films with a complete sense of detachment, but in a videogame acting out these lewd or ultra-violent acts myself in a virtual world really unsettles me.
I'm far happier in the colourful happy worlds of Pikmin or Wind Waker myself. These are games which I can share with my kids before bedtime and play in the evening while my wife is in the room without feeling completely embarrassed. If people enjoy GTA5 then more power to them, but it's not my cup of tea and I am not ashamed to say it.
@jrob23 no worries, no need to defend the Wii U to me. I love it, I just hope Nintendo can get the marketing message and price point right so that others might experience it too.
@jrob23 I'm a massive fan of the Wii U myself, it's a fun gaming experience and I think it can stand apart offering something different to what Microsoft and Sony are offering. I put " " around my last-gen statement for he simple reason that this is how many will perceive the console. I think it's a great investment personally, but on a technical level there is no question it is nowhere near as powerful as the Xbox One and PS4.
To everyone asking about our Splinter Cell Blacklist review, yup it'll be on its way soon. Please be patient, Ubisoft didn't send us code for this one early like usual. We're on it!
Good on the specialist retailers for standing by Nintendo during this rough patch with the Wii U.
You can't trust supermarkets to care about the games industry any more than they care about the literary, movie or music industry. Stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap, that's all they will ever care about.
@Oswen I'd imagine you will qualify for the Wonderful 101 promotion so long as you buy it direct from the eShop. The eShop will know you own a digital copy of Pikmin 3 and apply the discount with a bit of luck! Time will tell I suppose.
@Fazermint Martin has had access to the game for about 3 weeks now and has completed it, tried out all the modes, etc. You won't find a more educated opinion than this my friend
@GamecubeLad interesting times for us certainly! As this is also going to be released as a standalone retail game we chose to do a traditional review this time.
If this was only going to be available as DLC, it's likely we'd have done this as a feature instead giving our impressions, but without a score
Back in the days, I got this on Japanese import and must admit I never found it too hard to complete. It just requires lots of practice and memorising what's coming up.
I must admit going back to this on Wii U VC after many many years, I found it to be a lot more challenging. While I do think using save states spoils the experience, it will be welcomed by many I am sure. Just use them sparingly folks!
@Spooky - I expect they will be. I got one of these "redeem codes" for Nintendo Land due to the screw-up with the Amazon Wii U preorder bundles, I was surprised to see that Nintendo Network Premium did credit my account for it in the same way as NSMBU which I bought direct from the eShop.
This is much better really. Lego City Wii U is £41.99 for a download code, which is a lot easier to stomach than £49.99 directly from the eShop. A step in the right direction!
@Rizsparky shame you have to choose, both are excellent. This game has a much faster pace and is more forgiving than Mutant Mudds. If you want a fun game to play in short blasts then you could do a lot worse than downloading this.

Re: Don't Worry, Those Early Pikmin 3 Downloads Are Eligible For The Wonderful 101 Promotion
Great response from Nintendo here, I'm glad they clarified all this and have done the right thing by their eager customers.
£27.99 for Wonderful 101 isn't too shabby either
Re: Ashes Cricket 2013 Delayed Until November
I expect the meeting with developer Trickstar and 505 Games went something like this
Re: UK Gamers Can Download Pikmin 3 Now By Picking Up A Code From GAME
@Oswen I'd imagine you will qualify for the Wonderful 101 promotion so long as you buy it direct from the eShop. The eShop will know you own a digital copy of Pikmin 3 and apply the discount with a bit of luck! Time will tell I suppose.
Re: UK Gamers Can Download Pikmin 3 Now By Picking Up A Code From GAME
Everytime I've bought a download from GAME the redeem code is shown immediately on screen once payment has been processed.
The code is also emailed a few mins after. Definitely automated.
I got my Pikmin 3 code today from GAME and began downloading immediately. No waiting folks!

@Peach64 It's been developed by Arzest, I don't know much about this dev team other than many of them are ex-Artoon developers. This explains a lot!

It's nice that this drive comes with the USB y-cable included. I tried to get my USB powered drive working on Wii U but it couldn't draw enough power.
Thankfully eBay has a nice selection of reasonably priced y-cables. Even USB 3.0 style ones.
