Re: Review: Kyotokei (WiiWare)

As a big-time Ikaruga fan I was wondering how this one would turn out. Sounds pretty solid, I'll take a punt on this if it makes its way to the UK soon.

Good job on the review Corbinator

Re: Review: Avenging Spirit (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy)

Great review Phil. I'm not familar with this one from back in the days, but the premise does sound intriguing indeed.

I love it when Virtual Console throws up a hidden gem such as this

@B4SDR4G - I heard that eShop cards are already on sale in Ireland so I guess it's only a matter of time until the rest of Europe gets them too

Re: Preview: Super Mario (3DS)

This really does look like it's going to be amazing, kudos to Nintendo for going all out on this one and not just taking the easy way out and rereleasing Mario 64 on 3DS (which they totally should do of course!)

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS)

Great review @ThomasBW84 - with a game as legendary as this it's hard to know where to start! You've done a great job in summing it up so well.

Credit to Grezzo and Nintendo for ensuring that Link's transition to the 3DS was as smooth as possible. Zelda fans deserve no less

Re: High Voltage Responds Badly to Scathing Conduit 2 Review

Dazza

When you view the customer reviews in date order it's actually quite shocking.

2008 - 2 reviews (both 5 stars)
2009 - 2 reviews (both 5 stars)
2010 - 2 reviews (both 5 stars)

Then 3rd May 2011 then fun starts, right after Joystiq's review went live!

"I had more fun reading the directions on a bottle of aspirin I had to take after going trough this below fan-fiction garbage Mr. Murdock calls a book"

No doubt this must be from someone at HVS. Then between the 19th and the 21st the trolling just gets really silly.

This whole thing has really blown up in HVS' face as it's drawn attention to the most negative review of Conduit 2 AND directed people to the author's 5 start rated book.

Maybe they should hire Max Clifford to do their PR from now on

Re: Hands On: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

It was a fun event last night, there's no doubt that OoT looks great on the 3DS. The subtle 3D effects really do bring Hyrule to life.

The contrast between the crisp visuals was particularly striking after playing the N64 original on the old battered CRTs

Re: Features: Nintendo 3DS Launch Game Buyer's Guide

I have to say that Pilotwings Resort has been my favourite launch 3DS game. The depth of 3D effect is brilliant and I just find myself going back to this game time and time again to unlock everything.

I'm tempted to check out Ghost Recon this weekend. That does look superb!

Re: Review: Steel Diver (3DS)

Dazza

@warioswoods I must be terrible at Pilotwings then, I've clocked up over 8 hours so far and still have a loonnnng way to go to 3 star all of the challenges!

Re: Tesco Slashes 3DS to Low Low Price of £175

Dazza

@JamieO - Not a bad deal bricks and mortar buying at all.

I ordered mine thru Tescos website for £197, but you could add any game for £10 so it's cost me £207. Still for the convenience of buying in store I'd be happy to pay a couple more quid. Bargain!

Re: Review: Pilotwings Resort (3DS)

Thanks for the review Corbie, the island flyover minigame in Wii Sports Resort is a big hit in my household... so I'm sure this will be a great purchase for me.

It's always nice to have a chilled-out score attack game on a handheld I think

Re: Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary is 50Hz Only

Dazza

Scratch that one off my preorder list then! What a load of rubbish!!

I can understand the old line 'we just give you the games as they always were' on Virtual Console (kinda!), but this takes the biscuit really. Why couldn't Nintendo have offered a proper remastered Mario collection for Europe? You'd expect a retail disc release to offer more than a few unchanged roms burnt on to a disc!

Re: Feature: Celebrating Super Famicom's 20th Anniversary

Dazza

Wow 20 years already! I remember my best mate at school ordering a Japanese import from one of the ads in the back of Mean Machines mag for about £400 when we should have been revising for our exams!

Great times, I remember playing early games such as Final Fight and Caveman Ninja and marvelling at how close they were to the arcades.

Thanks for the article Corbie, it was great to read your SFC experience.

Happy 20th birthday Super Famicom!!
