I totally stopped buying and playing games on my switch because both my pro-controller and joy-cons are drifting to the point the even the switch menu is barely usable. So I hope for a new quality improved controller.
All my controllers (joycon and pro controller) are drifting despite my attempts to fix. It's a pain to play any games and I don't want to buy another controller from nintendo, I do not trust them anymore.
So it's a video game pause for me until I don't know when.
Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, F Zero X, Forsaken (only one friend knew how to play it correctly), Extreme G (I miss that game !), Fighters Destiny ! Plus games I could grab from friends : 1080 Snowboarding, Vigilant 8, Goldeneye ! I loved that console :')
@FlashmanHarry the definition is a bit better on the left image. It's easier to notice if you open the image on a big enough screen. But I agree that for us common mortal it's not night and day, a trained eye will be able to detect more differences. I don't see any differences in color.
@SPM Yes it keeps track of your time. You can also see the items and your current time in your save slots (there are 3). There is also a challenge of not harming any Frog Fox Berry or Deer Jennys, which is a challenge because some puzzles require you to. Have Fun !
@SPM Strangly, those achievements where not built into the game on steam, although that doesn't mean you can't do them, there is just not a 'checkbox' to validate them. I find it strange because a lot of achievements in steam are just stupid or just some checkpoints into a game, so I understand that there is not a buildin checklist inside the game. But here, those achievements are really a part of the experience, they add a real replay value, and if there is no achievements to tell you that you can actually beat the game with just any two items, it's hard to guess it.
I don't know if they changed something for the switch version, but if you take it, i encourage you to try
I often think that terms are used 'backward'. A language is meant to describe reality and now we try do force stuff into the box words we have because we lack more precise words at one point. It applies to almost everything, and that's why we can find people arguing, using a same word, while in fact talking about entirely different things. That's why tags are great: you have a collection of words to describe your stuff instead of having to choose one (how revolutionary ...). And i think that cinema is in the same boat. How would you define Inception in one word ?
@Beaucine Beautifully written. It was really incredible that, in addition to the 3d, in an era where 3d was really ugly, they brought so much atmosphere in Ocarina of Time. I kind of missed that in Breath of the Wild, as amazing as this one is.
Play the demo of Balan Wonderworld before buying ! I was intrigued, I played the demo, now I surely won't buy the game. The cinematics are beautiful but the game itself is not better than 10/20 to me.
I'm with the 'more stressful than fun' team. The controls are simple but if you play with someone that is not used to video game (say level Mario Kart in 50cc but not above), this is just too hard and too frustrating. Cook Serve Delicious (not the same gameplay but ... still cooking) has plenty of modes to harden of soften the difficulty, so it's enjoyable for everyone.
The graphics in the demo on switch didn't look like that at all. every effects (light, reflections) were removed , there's aliasing and the resolution is meh
I often associate RPG with 'artificial' progression: you can play the same way, you're just buffed to confront future enemies and not being one-hit. In Zelda there is no buff, you could be good enough to confront the final boss with the starting gear and 3 hearts. What the items does is often providing new gameplay to solve puzzles (including when beating bosses) and unlock regions.
How is it that almost everybody thinks he's apologizing for his opinion when it's obviously about the tone of it.
"My intentions was [...] to offer a discussion starter [...] we should aways remain respectful with each other. And I wasn’t yesterday. And for that I'm really sorry."
Astral Chain ! Bought it a while ago, played it a bit and for some reason I stressed over all the fighting mechanics and left it in my backlog. Now I'm back into it, and worry less if the way I fight is a mess, it's still a fun and well crafted game
10/21. And I've played Ocarina of Time (on N64 and 3ds), Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, Phantom Hour Glass, Spirit Tracks, A link Between World and BOTW and I have some artbooks on Zelda.
I loved Stick It To The Man. I love that they chose to keep that quirky gloomy spooky goofy setting in their new games. Kinda in between Nightmare Before Christmas and Alice Madness Return. I love the new graphics. It reminds me of Laika's stop motion work, like Paranorman or Coraline. Yes, that's a lot of love <3
My experience of Bioshock Remastered for PC was aweful. While the game is great and beautiful, it kept crashing all the time ! (I mean, really often ...) . Which is incredibly frustrating. I hope this version is better but my advice would be to wait for reviews before buying
I kinda liked the colorimetry and the design they used in the original. It had a 'painting' feel, a bit like FF12. Now it's pretty and all, but it's a bit 'anime generic' and too bright.
@RupeeClock Well, that says something about what I knew back in the day. I don't think I ever had the idea (nor my friends) to call the hotline to get tips on the video games I played. But I always got stuck because thoses games where too hard, not because I didn't knew what to do ^^.
I was 6 or 7 years old when I played that on the original NES, and I wish I knew about that. But all people with gaming console that I knew had a sega and I guess I must have missed the right magazine where this trick was printed
Currently playing this game. It's really charming, but my girlfriend can't stand me making the character sing in any direction like crazy . (plus dancing )
@fR0z3nS0u1 Thank you very much ! I appreciate the detailed answer and the comparison to jrpg (I played but never finished Etrian Odyssey 5. Fun but too long and repetitive for my taste after 40/50 hours). I'll add this game to my list
I loved AC New Leaf with my girlfriend and I expected better couch play options to play with her and no limitation as what the second player can do (multi or not multi). But this is definitely a solo game again with some 'multiplayer features'.
Adding to that the strange save limitations and it's definitely not a 10 for me and a game that I'll skip.
I invested in Ring Fit Adventure. While I do not have any particular weight issue, I do zero sport and do not have the motivation to get out and do some. I have a job where I sit all day and it can't be good in the long run. I expect this game to start me up on the matter and that seems to work because so far I have no difficulty starting the game and do a session.
But the heavy work will be done by the doom guy in Doom 3

Re: Reminder: DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power Is Out Now On Nintendo Switch
Although it's packed with girl characters, i don't find it that girly in itself (although I find the girl's voice in the trailer annoying).
Waiting for some reviews, but it looks light and fun, a bit cartoon-network-ish.
If it's not too over simplistic, I might pick it up.
