These contests are always a sham.
Great games but this contest can rot for all I care.
Not interested at all in those games for the Switch when they refuse to give ANY incentive for physical collectors.
Those could have been among the greatest collections on the Switch.
I haven't preordered a game in years and I definitely won't now with a bunch of shady tactics swarming the industry as of late.
Upon reflection, there's no difference between what 2K are doing here and games that release with Day 1 patches. Either don't buy games with patches, which is increasingly difficult, or quit gaming altogether. Sigh.
How can they expect people to pre-order if they haven’t released any gameplay footage or something. You have no idea what you’re buying into.
Never really got this hate for digital media. Physical copies are nice and all, but how exactly does that warrant a demonisation of those who prioritize digital support? At least digital is cheaper, can be accessed almost anywhere via download, and not to mention is better for the environment.
Each their own, I guess.
@dewokkel I’d assume that they expect you to know what you’re getting as the games have been out for years now, however I do understand your point because the game could be downscaled or even run a lot slower.
@SpringLand Hate for digital media? Where did you see that?
You probably misunderstood the preference of full physical media with hate for digital media.
I do not hate digital media as I own digital game son my PC but on my consoles I am almost 100% physical media.
People really need to understand that collectors do not HATE digital releases.
@WesEds yeah, “no idea” is of course not totally true, but I’m indeed a little bit worried about the framerate and graphical downscale.
On the other hand; the switch should run all those games with ease.
@dewokkel exactly, the fact there is very little shown in the system running the game tells me that it’s not quite finished and will need patches to fix whatever issues it has.
Too many games like that these days.
My experience of Bioshock Remastered for PC was aweful. While the game is great and beautiful, it kept crashing all the time ! (I mean, really often ...) . Which is incredibly frustrating.
I hope this version is better but my advice would be to wait for reviews before buying
Whilst the prizes would be nice, I'm not paying a premium for a 0.0001% chance of wining extras that would ultimately sit in my cupboard. It would be nice to know how these games run on Switch. I'm particularly interested in triple dipping in Bioshock (got on on PC / Xbox), but not if it's a broken, unoptimised mess. Plus, there's a small RPG called Xenoblade Chronicles coming out the same day...
The preorder bonus prize thing sounds interesting but as soon as I seen the images I just thought “that’s a lot of garbage that will go straight into the bin”
I would have been interested if the full games were on the cartridge, but they have done a Capcom and only put one on there with the rest to download.
No thanks
Borderlands 3 prizes? This some kind of a hint or a cruel joke?
I already pre-ordered Bioshock from 2k
I don't mind digital, but these big downloads basically mean if you buy the cart you get the negatives of digital with the negatives of physical and none of the positives of either medium. So I consider this as only available digitally, which is their choice (but for info I would have bought physical day 1, now I'll wait for digital sale but thats just me).
Can one of the prizes please be a cartridge actually containing the whole collection, rather than being a glorified code in a box?
Does anyone know why there isn’t a physical version for XCOM 2 in Europe?
If it was all on one cartridge.......
@Cyz the original was like that for me. An absolute nightmare! Loved the game but it was barely playable. I thought the remaster fixed that 🤷🏻♂️ I had windows vista but had to run the game in xp mode and as administrator or something....... long time ago
Given the shambles developers have made of gyro controls lately, I’ll wait until Bioshock is out and I can confirm if the controls have been done right.
If Bioshock (1) was on a cartridge, complete, by itself (assuming ported well), I would have paid the same amount as they are charging for the entire collection. I don't really care about the other two games.
I wanted Borderlands collection for the switch so bad... But this physical sucks ass. I’ll just grab the first one on the eshop.
Do we know how much will the games cost separately? I just want Bioshock Infinite, the rest of them I played them already (great games, by the way!)
@the_beaver
I don’t think we know about either sizes or prices of individual games. I want to know too !
Borderlands and BioShock I would have bought day one if everything was on the cartridges. Now I guess they'll be put on the watch list to wait for a sale. Either put everything out on a physical version or don't bother with a physical version at all. The physical versions automatically become null and void when 60% of the content isn't even on it. Pointless
Any FPS fan who never played the Bioshock series I recommend them highly!! The solo player campaign modes of course. 👍👍
I am disappointed though that each game, if you buy physically, requires a download! 😤
Slightly concerning there has been no footage of any of the games just a week away from launch.
bordlands collection will be offered next week on epic... this make really hard to buy it.. I was really In the mood to buy it
Where’s the preorder on the eshop? Am I missing something?
Now these are prices I can live with, 40 bucks for 3 games plus dlc...
Some pretty sweet swag, too bad NOA isn't doing this. Still excited for all of the new 2K games coming to Switch though.
Any word on Xcom 2 Collection? I'm not seen any gameplay or screenshots yet.
100 bucks for games I got for 20 on Humble Bundle. No thanks.
