505 Games and developer Prideful Sloth (the team behind Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles) have shared more details on Grow: Song of the Evertree, launching on Switch later this year.
Described as "a breathtaking world-crafting sandbox with life management and exploration elements," Grow: Song of the Evertree is one of the titles that stood out to us during the Guerrilla Collective Showcase.
Prideful Sloth game designer Cheryl Vance says, "With Grow we wanted to create a game that gave the player a sense of adding to the world, rather than taking away from it. This world is a giant garden, a place where you can tend and care for it, guiding it in the direction you wish it to grow."
Here's the official description:
Grow: Song of the Evertree is a breathtaking world-crafting sandbox with life management and exploration elements. Players are introduced to the once vibrant and colorful world of Alaria, abandoned and overrun by the mysterious Withering. Over time, Alaria has faded and the magnificent Evertree - whose many worlds once resided on its countless branches - is now nothing more than a sapling with its splendor long erased from memory.
As Everheart Alchemists, players will learn how to nurture, care for, and grow new and unique worlds within the branches of the Evertree. As the old inhabitants return and life begins to blossom, players will be able to meet them, learn their stories, and create a dream town to nurture a blooming community.
No specific date beyond a vague '2021' has been revealed just yet, but this could well be one to keep an eye on, especially if you're a fan of cosy sandbox games.

Getting definite Ori vibes from this one (the music - the upgrade trees) but the gameplay looks quite different.
Definitely one that I will be checking out reviews for when released.
I’m definitely going to keep an eye on this one - I loved Yonder, and this looks like just the thing to play before bed or in-between bouts of more stressful games.
Yonder 2 on Switch. 😀
Wish for physical release in the future.
@Anti-Matter Yay ! Loved Yonder ! Can't wait !!!!
It's certainly gorgeous. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Prideful Sloth is a very small team, who developed Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicle on Switch. Yonder is also an open world game, without any combat and focuses purely on exploration, crafting and a little farming. If you like what you saw here, check out Yonder,
Hm... looks like you can only play as a girl... hm
Making something ugly, beautiful is a compelling premise for a game. I'll look forward to reviews.
I also loved Yonder. It was a good game. The biggest problem was the stuttering frame rates. But even with that, i finished the game and almost 100%. I hope this game runs smooth and is a little deeper in story telling. I look forward to it.
Yonder's problem was it came out near the Switch launch, and every game with grass in it was being compared to BOTW...
