Re: Where To Pre-Order The Zelda: Skyward Sword Zelda Loftwing amiibo

CrazyCats

I know this is an expensive amiibo, but those UK prices are eyewatering compared to the US ones (£24.85 is approx $35)!
Personally I don't want to take up space with plastic figures, so this is a hard pass for me. I wish Nintendo did official NFC/RFID cards - the hole is plugged by non-official ones on eBay, which are a whole lot more tempting than amiibo from my point of view.

Re: Site News: After Our Best Year Yet, Things Are Changing Here At Nintendo Life

I'm still a newbie here but have enjoyed your content for the past 3 years or so. Keep up the good work!

I am a little confused by the penultimate sentence. Is there a typo or does my Language Processing Unit just need a reboot?

"We've also got some exciting developments happening within the wider network which we can't help to share with you later this year."

Re: Poll: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Out Today, Are You Getting It?

CrazyCats

I've pre-ordered it so should be arriving today. I'm going to exercise some self restraint and give it to myself for Christmas. Currently replaying BOTW so should Hyrule should be fresh in my mind when I start this.

Tbh playing the demo made me want to replay botw more than I wanted to play a warriors game. Still it's Zelda... so I had to buy it 😁

Re: Amazing Nintendo Switch Black Friday Deal Slashes Console Price By £40 (UK)

CrazyCats

This was widely posted on UK deal sites yesterday, so I'm not surprised it has all sold out today. Plenty of pre-Christmas demand and probably more than a few scalpers hoping to make quick money selling on eBay too.

Although I'm tempted to get a second switch or a Lite for my household to ease the contention with the kids on my OG Switch, I'm holding out for a Switch Pro. It's got to be just around the corner, right?

Re: Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise Punches Its Way To Switch In December

CrazyCats

@Miyamotosan agree this feels like DLC to me. Having bought the first game I don't feel the need to spend £40-50 on this. I would have have considered paying for DLC tracks, trainers etc if it was around the £10-20 mark.
The first game already had 2 player mode, which was fun, so I don't know why that's being singled out in the announcement.
Strange decision by the developers if you ask me.

Re: Pokémon GO Players Call For Niantic To Disclose Loot Box Odds

CrazyCats

I'm still playing PoGo, after more than 4 years. I like how it helps gets me out and about. However there is no denying that the whole game is essentially based on gacha mechanics. I'd argue that this isn't it of line with most of the mainline Pokémon games, which rely heavily on RNG anyway - rewarding those willing to spend hours grinding away for rare/shiny Pokémon and good IVs.
When I look at it in the cold light of day it makes me wonder why I still play this. However the thought that the next Mon I tap on may be that new shiny IS tantalising...

Re: Pokémon GO Player Spending Soars, As More Trainers Bunker Down

CrazyCats

Actually I've found the opposite; that, as a long time Pokémon Go player, my interest in the game has plummeted to its lowest level ever. The main appeal for me was getting outside for walks whilst hopefully catching some interesting 'mon. Now that's gone there doesn't seem a whole lot of point opening the app to catch the one or two Pokémon that may spawn near my house.
