I think this is fair enough since it is covering accidental damage, like an insurance policy.
I don't know how it works in other regions, but here in the UK Nintendo's repair service have repaired my drifting joy cons 5 or 6 times for free, despite them being 4-5 years old.
I know this is an expensive amiibo, but those UK prices are eyewatering compared to the US ones (£24.85 is approx $35)! Personally I don't want to take up space with plastic figures, so this is a hard pass for me. I wish Nintendo did official NFC/RFID cards - the hole is plugged by non-official ones on eBay, which are a whole lot more tempting than amiibo from my point of view.
I appreciate there's quite a lot of 3rd party titles incoming in the next couple of months.
Still, that's quite a close horizon for first party releases. Not particularly excited for SM3DW port, although I'll probably get it eventually when it's on sale.
I hope we get a direct/announcement of new first party releases soon
I've pre-ordered it so should be arriving today. I'm going to exercise some self restraint and give it to myself for Christmas. Currently replaying BOTW so should Hyrule should be fresh in my mind when I start this.
Tbh playing the demo made me want to replay botw more than I wanted to play a warriors game. Still it's Zelda... so I had to buy it 😁
This was widely posted on UK deal sites yesterday, so I'm not surprised it has all sold out today. Plenty of pre-Christmas demand and probably more than a few scalpers hoping to make quick money selling on eBay too.
Although I'm tempted to get a second switch or a Lite for my household to ease the contention with the kids on my OG Switch, I'm holding out for a Switch Pro. It's got to be just around the corner, right?
This list seems to be missing some 1st party game price drops. For example Amazon UK has: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokémon Sword and Luigi's mansion 3 at £34.99 each
@Jmjfrank @TeslaChippie @Giancarlothomaz thanks for the replies. That's what I hoped. I think I'll play this AoC first then, if I enjoy the warriors element, go back and get the first Hyrule Warriors. Really looking forward to this
Should one play the first Hyrule warriors game before this one? It's been on my list to buy for a while, just concerned that it may feel like a backwards step to play it after playing this. Any thoughts?
@Miyamotosan agree this feels like DLC to me. Having bought the first game I don't feel the need to spend £40-50 on this. I would have have considered paying for DLC tracks, trainers etc if it was around the £10-20 mark. The first game already had 2 player mode, which was fun, so I don't know why that's being singled out in the announcement. Strange decision by the developers if you ask me.
I'm still playing PoGo, after more than 4 years. I like how it helps gets me out and about. However there is no denying that the whole game is essentially based on gacha mechanics. I'd argue that this isn't it of line with most of the mainline Pokémon games, which rely heavily on RNG anyway - rewarding those willing to spend hours grinding away for rare/shiny Pokémon and good IVs. When I look at it in the cold light of day it makes me wonder why I still play this. However the thought that the next Mon I tap on may be that new shiny IS tantalising...
@Chris77 I've also been waiting for Grid Autosport to be reduced for a while. First time I think. I'll bite at this price, but might head to the South Africa eshop to save a few £'s more...
Any idea what the deal is with UK repair centres? Are they open? How long have people waited for repairs? Got a left joy con waiting to go in, but need to weigh up how long we can go without it.
Actually I've found the opposite; that, as a long time Pokémon Go player, my interest in the game has plummeted to its lowest level ever. The main appeal for me was getting outside for walks whilst hopefully catching some interesting 'mon. Now that's gone there doesn't seem a whole lot of point opening the app to catch the one or two Pokémon that may spawn near my house.
Wish I'd not bothered with the fighter pass. The only one to interest me was Banjo. I won't be buying a second pass, but perhaps will but individual fighters if they are of interest.

@FX102A a Swindon magic roundabout track? Now that WOULD be chaos 😆

Not complaining. This may be the closest we in the UK get visiting Super Nintendo World this year!

Re: "Nintendo Switch Has Games" - And Now It Has An Expensive Calculator, Too
I'm sure my kids would love to bring a Switch to their maths class, with the excuse of, "it's my calculator."

Re: Site News: After Our Best Year Yet, Things Are Changing Here At Nintendo Life
I'm still a newbie here but have enjoyed your content for the past 3 years or so. Keep up the good work!
I am a little confused by the penultimate sentence. Is there a typo or does my Language Processing Unit just need a reboot?
"We've also got some exciting developments happening within the wider network which we can't help to share with you later this year."
Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 17th February

Re: A Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Fan Has Created A Super Mario 64-Inspired DLC Expansion
As far as I am aware there is no legitimate way to play this, or any other BoTW mod. Looks cool though.

I was on the fence on this one. Going to wait for a demo or at least an eshop sale
Re: Nintendo Scraps The Sale Of Digital Game Download Codes At European Retailers
@mesome713 as someone who has ordered codes from ShopTo on more than one occasion, these were digital codes delivered via their website.
I'll be sad to see this go, as getting 20-30% off the eshop price always felt good. I wonder what the reasoning was to do this only in the EU.

@pazuzu666 did 8bitdo already announce their own version of the pro controller or do you mean a newer version of the Sf30 pro?
