Xenoblade Chronicles 2 mostly, but I am keen to try out Battle Chef Brigade when I need a break from XC2. Apart from that I really need to finish Golf Story, I am up to the last course but delaying since I enjoyed it so much that I am a bit sad to see it end...
I’m still finishing off Golf Story, after that probably Splatfest and I will finally try Stardew Valley (I really need a game like Animal Crossing on switch, hoping SDV will help until they finally announce AC for switch)
I don’t mind as long as it doesn’t slow things down, I love the speed of the UI at the moment. The switch eShop doesn’t bother me too much honestly since I know what I want, but the main UI could use some more features. Things I would love: activity log, achievements, social features like im and status messages, recording capture, an editor to add notes to screenshots, custom background images, different layout options for icons (instead of just one row)
@SLIGEACH_EIRE agreed, Nintendo is clearly doomed. xD
I wasn't surprised really, they won't give us next years updates til this years big titles are out of the way; they don't want to risk reducing hype for the current games. My biggest dissapointment was no OS news.... I hope they push out some more features this year.
@Mart1ndo I agree, what is right for one is not for another. I was more replying to "At the moment Switch is not worth the money. I reckon it'll be another 4 years before it's worth a purchase. If even ever.". As I said in my previous comment it is lucky not everyone feels that way or else the switch would go the path of vita before it ever reached 4 years old. Early adopters are the reason why consoles succeed and have a chance to get a backlog of games that people who would buy later at a discounted rate or second hand can appreciate. Basically I am saying thankfully other people are supporting the switch. That doesn't mean I think you or even most people should buy it. When I talk to friends about it IRL I often suggest they hold off til at least christmas when mario odessey is out. But that doesn't change the fact that a lot of people who are buying the switch now are why the console will succeed and get more games.
@Mart1ndo luckily not everyone thinks like you, or else switch would be dead in the water like psvita was. I still mourn my psvita and the amazing console it could have been.
Wow some of the comments sound like they didn't even read the article. Some peoplw are such conspiracy theorists believing the "big company just wants to take my money", you guys just want to have your cake and eat it. Face the facts, if companies were taking such high profit margins just because they can, we wouldn't see so many companies shutting down or cutting corners. The publishers that survive are the one that actually make a profit. Next time your favourite company/game shuts down or doesn't make a sequel, maybe consider that it was your entitlement that caused it.
Mmm idk, i watched it and I still think he is holding a grudge... He clearly blamed Nintendo for his company's financial loss. I think he was making bold statements with no groundings. Yes, by the end of Wii 3rd party games were struggling, but not because of Nintendo, like he makes out. It was because every developer thought they could make a trashy cheap game and cash in on the wii's success. Honestly by the end of the Wii, very few quality games were being released by 3rd parties, which caused a massive loss of faith by consumers.
@Switch81tch maybe... i guess the future will tell. The switch has an interesting niche in being portable, i think there is a chance. Personally I am happy with what games are coming out already, but having portable options for some of the bigger AAA titles could be awesome
@DEZn00ts I agree it will be great when some AAA third party games start arriving, but after wii u developers were probably hesitant to work on games for the switch before they saw how well it would do... I imagine now it's sellinng well they have all started planning projects, unfortunately that means a year or two before we get anything good from third parties that aren't close with Ninty
I've hated the fact this is on 3ds since the first moment I saw it, lol. I was hoping to just focus on switch now and leave my 3ds in the cupboard, but looks like I will be playing my 3ds for a while when I am done with Disgaea. I kinda hope they do a switch eshop port in the future tho to give it more exposure.
@NerdNoiseRadio honestly for me, what killed wii u was a loss of faith in nintendo after how bad wii was toward the end. Wii was so party game focused and had loaddds of shovelware on it that by the end of it's life cycle I was very jaded by Nintendo, and when they marketted the wii u as a "new wii" and made it even more party game and shovelware oriented I and a lot of people I know who would otherwise have bought the console were like "nope, nintendo is poop now, time to get a ps4", honestly I remember watching the first switch ad, and before i watching it i was like "yeah not interested at all", but by the end i was excited and hyped. Basically Nintendo showed me that they were returning their focus to gamers like me, not preschoolers and non-gamers.
@KirbyTheVampire after the way pokemon was announced i think an animal crossing IS already in the works but they won't announce it til early 2018, probably as a late 2018 release. To be honest I am ok with that since unlike pokemon where we had been given reasons to believe one wasn't being worked on, there is no way they won't release ac for switch.
Now I am just going to enjoy the ride; I was surprised to read that people were disspointed in Nintendo's e3 though I admit I didn't watch much of the treehouse stuff.... we basically have one amazing Nintendo Switch title per month for the rest of the year, all of which I can't wait to play. I am interested to see if they can maintain this level of quality into 2018.
My only disappointment was the lack of focus on the actual switch os. I really think they don't appreciate the importance of the os for social elements of gaming. The lack of achievements for so long shows this imho. Hopefully Ninty will see the light one day and put as much love into their os as they do their games.
Edit: after reading more of the comments i think I get why people ar complaining. I ask this, Remember back to 2016 e3? Did we have a clue about mario, splatoon, arms, raving rabbits, pokken switch, hell i don't think the switch was even announced yet! And yet most of these complaints are about us not knowing what will be coming out in over a year! So really the complaints are that Nintendo has been too good with informing about what games will be out this year and thus people want more info about games from next year, even though the devs are still working on it and have nothing to show.
I am a bit ambivalent at the moment... I am enjoying Disgaea, but all I really wanted from Nintendo this year was an Animal Crossing or Pokemon RPG on switch announcement. Since neither of them look very likely, I guess I will watch for interest, but not with any high expectations.
( I am looking forward to games like Mario Odyssey, but I am not super hyped at the moment, it is something I can wait for )
@VENOMVSCARNAGE maybe they should start splitting the review into portable and couch scores so that people only interested in one option can judge based on that.
@therealgamer wow his review sounds really jaded, I mean maybe that is how bad it is, but his writing makes him just sound angry... I will wait for some more reviews that don't seem as biased as that one.
@Equinox yes and no imho, while it shouldn't be necessary, these kinds of additions are awesome and should be appreciated when made available. This doesn't feel forced at all, and will please a lot of gamers who identify better with a female character.
@ironside1911 I don't think anyone looking at a game like this or Othello is comparing it to Zelda.... The reviews are for individuals interested in the game's genre for an idea of how good that game is within that genre (as compared to other similar titles). Implying that this should get a 5 just because it isn't an open world platformer is wrong.
If it got a 5 I would assume it was a poorly built sim with bugs or some gameplay flaws. Gettinga 7 tells that it does a decent job at being a sim...
You may personally not be a fan (tho I highly doubt you even tried it) but that doesn't mean that noone else will enjoy it.....
Thanks Nintendo Life for the review and @cmk8 to the link to Scullion's review. I might try it, I have always loved these kinds of games and have been wanting something light-hearted to play on the switch when I need a break from Zelda. I am not a fan of the mobile farming sims because of all the waiting they make you do as a part of the free to play model, so I am looking forward to this.
@JHDK happy to confirm i'll be getting my switch in 22.5 hours 😜 Doubt I would survive waiting much longer, my productivity has already been thrown out the door this week.
Honestly I think the negative comments are doing it the right way, lol, I worry because I am so enthusiastic/excited that I am setting myself up for disappointment. Honestly I will be pretty happy even with a few quality games like zelda, splatoon etc. but if the Switch does end up doing poorly and goes the way of the Vita, it will hurt way more than if I had been more realistic (pessimistic?) about the launch.
That being said, I am still super excited, there are already so many games I am looking forward to, 10 games I want to play on switch is an easy number for me, in particular because I have always been more of a handheld fan so I count some games as "handheld exclusives".
I seriously cannot wait for this game to release. I was so happy when the spiritual successor Monster Boy was anounced for switch, but to get this too makes me childish with glee. This is one of my favourite 2d side scrollers of all time.
I am warming up to 1-2 Switch now after seeing a few more mini games, so I will probably be getting that, Bomberman R and Zelda launch day, as well as Fast RMX, I am Setsuna and Snipperclips when I can. Also looking forward to the new Shovel Knight title and Disgaea when they come out.
Overall this is one of the best launch lineups ever for me personally, so many quality games that I actually want to play. When I remember back to PS4 launch there wasn't even one single game I liked; but that's my personal taste though (still love my ps4 though ☺).
@NintySnesMan I don't think the people replying were necessarily fanboys, that's an easy way to shrug off their comments. Honestly I think a lot were responding to your very first comment which appeared hostile in how it read. However I am sure you just meant "not really my thing but will be great for those who do want it" right? Anyway, I think toward the end the way you were commenting makes it sound like you think people are doing something wrong by watching esports. I think that if people want to watch it that is their choice and there is nothing wrong with it, in the same way that someone who watches rugby instead of playing it is also fine. Anyway, sony fan here, looking forward to the switch, not intending any hard feelings, just trying to explain why I think people overreacted.

@RunninBlue I want to know too! He mentions 30fps immediately after, so by soft maybe they mean low res like <720p? Or blurry?

Re: Review: Kingdom: New Lands (Switch eShop)
@pbb76 try the free flash version as a demo, it's actually a pretty fun game and I think it's been reviewed lower than it deserves.

Re: Trailer Showcases Performance Boost of One Piece Unlimited World Red - Deluxe Edition on Switch
@UmniKnight It's probably just because they thought it made sense to compare Nintendo consoles to each other. :shrugs:
Guess it depends if they have an even better version on ps4 or not.
