@antonvaltaz I still find it absolutely wild that people remember me! I had a chap recognise me in real life recently at the Switch 2 Experience. Bonkers! Cheers man βΊοΈ
The IR sensor on the Wii Remote was definitely more accurate, but I was actually really impressed by the pointer controls on Metroid Prime Remastered. Does require you to recalibrate fairly often, but it's just a quick tap of the R or ZR Button.
In general, pointer/gyro controls are so much better for shooters than dual analog. I really struggle to understand anyone who argues otherwise. I can only put it down to stubbornness and/or laziness, quite honestly.
@SonOfDracula 98% of the time, my Switch was firmly tucked away in my backpack and I wasn't even thinking about it. But like I say in the article, sometimes you'll have huge bus and train journeys with not much to see, or airport delays. Trust me, I was a busy man; spent most of my time adventuring and socialising, but on a three month backpacking trip, you are gonna have some downtime. It's just the nature of it.
The thing with the 8GB model is that, if you're planning on downloading games in any number, even the 32GB model is too small. No matter which version you get, you're going to need external storage at some point if you want to download more than two games, so it makes sense to just get the cheaper model and buy a 500GB HDD.
If this was Gran Turismo, then yes, a second off a lap time is quite significant. In Mario Kart, though, presuming you're playing with all items on, I honestly can't see it making a shred of a difference.
@Superstick There's also Sonic Lost World, Darksiders 2, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Black Ops II, The LEGO Movie Videogame, FIFA/Madden, NBA 2K13, Game & Wario, Wii Party U, Tekken Tag Tournament, The Amazing Spider-Man and a few others we had to leave out.
Looks kinda rough. You can see there's issues with the Field of View, and obviously the static HUD looks kinda goofy. Still, hugely promising and I'd KILL for a proper VR Metroid Prime experience.
"Just think of paying 99 cents just to get Mario to jump a little higher"
Ohhhhh my word. I actually refuse to believe that ANYONE thinks this is a healthy, positive direction for the industry. That literally sounds like the worst idea I've ever heard.
Disappointed to see so much negativity re: the Wii U's library. There are actually five or six high profile games that we had to leave out. And this is just retail! We're hoping to do a separate video for eShop titles.
Hi guys! Just to clear something up, here's what Thomas wrote in the original feature:
"Our aim with this list is to avoid speculative entries, but include titles stated to be coming in 2014, even if no specific date has been given; we're optimistic that all of these games will arrive this year. We'll update our list every three months, but long-absent titles such as the previously teased Yarn Yoshi don't make the cut this time around."

I know Shin'en are great developers, but I'm still not expecting this to look as good as WipEout HD at 1080p/60fps. Would love to be proved wrong.
