I think a lot of this - especially things like texture streaming - is down to the fact that you can't install games to the hard-drive on Wii U.

This is absolutely ancient!

The embargo lifted at 6pm, and I've already counted nine perfect scores. Crazy!

I'm assuming there aren't any licensed teams. If there were, I'd snap this up. As it stands, I'll probably just pick up FM14 for Vita.

@Achoo Nope, the controls are definitely a bit crap. It's weird because the controls in Wii Sports Resort Table Tennis were absolutely brilliant.

Very impressive from a technical standpoint. That engine was written 100% in assembly language. Crazy.

The part where the chimney collapses is very impressive. Looks like an OG Xbox game, perhaps even better in some regards.

Just to chime in and echo the general sentiment here. I understand why Nintendo feel the need to cover themselves, but I think this is a fairly stupid move. It's very much chucking the baby out with the bath water.

This is only further proof that Nintendo need a proper account system for 3DS. That way, they could just ban the offenders.

I am suing.

Just to address the comments - OK, maybe calling the Star Fox characters simple model swaps was exaggerating a tad. But you must admit, they were all extremely similar, and, in my opinion, not justified in taking up three slots on the roster.

This game is made by one guy. Brian has said a few times that he wouldn't bother supporting the CPP if he didn't have to, but he feels reviewers would dock points from the score. I don't blame him.

Maybe the fact that it was several months late, twice as expensive, and 50 times harder to find than the 360/PS3 versions might have something to do with it.

COP The Recruit wasn't a great game, but it was extremely impressive on a technical level. Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh.

@KAHN My point was that the Wii U should have got an OoT remake INSTEAD of the 3DS. So, it wouldn't be 'another' remake, because the 3DS one would never have existed, if you catch my drift.

@GearsOfWarU You should almost certainly buy it. Same goes for anyone else who's never played it before. It's an incredible game.

I abstained this weekend because, yes, I'm still playing New Leaf and The Last of Us.

This was my biggest surprise at the showcase. I wasn't expecting much, but I came away really impressed.

This is one of those games that I'd probably love, but would die of embarrassment if one of my non-gamer friends saw me playing it.

We might be a Nintendo site, but we're not under any obligation to only post positive impressions. That would be ridiculous; we're reviewers, not marketing execs.

If you know you're going to enjoy this game, then why does it affect you if Anthony didn't?
