@Varelius
Yes. And you had to pay extra for it because
1: the wifi chip in the switch is horrible
2: because the dongle is not included.
So you can pretend I'm the ignorant one. Pretend to be the informed, adult person. But in the end you bought a product that was inherently ever so slightly faulty, so you had to spend extra. You had to use your own money to make your switch perform the way it should out of the box. I didn't need to do that on ps3, ps4, ps4pro or psvita. I didn't even have to do that on Wii U.
Is that how the internet works?
Everything works perfectly except Switch = internet broken? Is that it?
Bet you bought the official adapter too, am I right?
@Varelius Listen up. I'll repeat myself. I get a stable connection on ALL devices. Phones, ps4, printer, laptop, tv. NOT on switch. I don't care how the internet works. And we all know the Switch is supposed to use the wifi connection for everything. Otherwise they would have built in a lan port. The Switch has a really bad wifi chip, and we're ment to live with it. And that is simply a fact you'll have to deal with, no matter how the internet works.
@Indielink I agree 100%. But when Devolver, being the publisher,goes on stage with a clear message against micro transactions and releasing unfinished games, it seems quite hypocritical that they themselves forced a game out before it was properly finished. HDR was canned in that game for the same reasons. They even went as far as "pushing the pro button" so the game can't even make use of boost mode.
Fool me once... After their ridiculous and self righteous E3 presentation back in 2017 I believe, they wanted to shame greedy companies who put out overpriced games before they are ready. What happens next? They are the publisher behind Shadow Warrior 2, a game who's devs praised the ps4 pro for its power. Game comes out. No pro support. Why? Time constraints. Nice one, Devolver. I have had a hard time forgiving them for that
Just give us a straight port of Black Flag. It looked good on WiiU. How they managed to make this thing run and look so bad is beyond me. So, now two of the big hopes for new open worlds on Switch, are both down the drain. I wish we'd get good ports of good last gen games instead. I'd even be more than happy with a PC port of GTA IV
If you don't already have an online subscription, I think it's a very poor deal. In that case the subscription eats up whatever you save on the games themselves. And I still can't think of a single reason why I would personally want to pay for an online membership. I think it's ridiculous that you can't move saves or game data between the internal storage and an sd card, though I bet it's to force people to pay up. I love my Switch, but I think Nintendo's online service is a greedy money grab
Well, it's not a particularly good deal, if you're not an online subscriber already. Then you'll have to add the subscription on top of that. The way I see it is: pay for a lackluster online service, so you get the rights to pay for two games at a slightly reduced price.
Yes! I love Darskiders 2. The chance to play it on the go means I have to double dip yet another game I already own on WiiU...and Ps4. But I don't mind. I never paid full price on either machine, and I love this game. I used to be a PC gamer way back. I lost interest around 2008, and didn't pick up gaming again until 2014. This was one of the very first games I played. It was an early summer morning, the sun was shining through our coloured hippie curtains, and I felt great. This game just sucked me in from the get go. Oh the fond memories...
I want my Switch to be the ultimate portable gaming device, so I just ordered a 128gb micro sd card and a 10000mAh power bank when I got it. Because I primarily use it as a portable, it simply makes the most sense to me to have Switch games digital, so I don't have to bother with changing cartridges on the train or bus
@Edu23XWiiU
Nope. DOOM looks and runs better, and is a lot less scaled back visually. Still, it's amazing they made it run in the first place. But...it's not pretty. And it drops frames more often than DOOM. It really isn't a matter of opinion
EDIT: Ok, I stand corrected. I see that v. 1.2 or whatever brought a LOT of improvements!
@Pod It takes a while to download, but the Switch port is amazing. I have a few games I only play handheld (because I have other consoles too), and Skyrim is fantastic as a handheld game. It looks and runs great.
@Edu23XWiiU Well. There are plenty of frame drops. So, on top of a very blurry image you get lots of dips to 25 fps. So let's say it runs at an average frame rate of 28 fps at low res, makes it a noticable step down from even the xbox one version. It's not ideal
@Dpullam Get Doom instead, if you didn't already. Wolf is very blurry on both docked and handheld. And runs at very low fps. It's a technical marvel on the switch, but not necessarily a great gaming experience
@hanp01 I have DOOM on ps4 and Switch. I'd play a level on Switch, and then replay it in 1440p 60fps on PS4pro with no hud, for awesome gameplay footage. I completed Borderlands 2, but I could totally see myself playing this on a portable device again.
@JaxonH Wow. Hold your horses, dude. Don't go on a rant here, because you have a hard time dealing with criticism. Lots of people, myself included, enjoy watching DF's analysis videos, because they present facts, and offer a fascinating insight into some of the stuff that goes on behind the curtains. Brainwashed? No, not really. Informed! Not brainwashed.
@NotTelevision
Cluttered compared only to the Switch, which in turn could be called bare bones. And you don't have to restart the system. Your statement is simply wrong
And yes, the lack of bluetooth is especially idiotic on a portable device
@fafonio Yeah...I was just really looking forward to a more...say...contemporary AAA exclusive that caters a bit more to a wider audience. Now that Zelda, Mario and Mario Kart is out of the way, all of a sudden there's just not that much left, is there? Bayonetta with no release window. Saints Row with...nothing at all... I mean, if you're not into all the overly cartoony stuff, there's not much left
Yes. With all the great action games releasing on the platform, what difference does ONE less do? .. .unless you're not into Pokemon and all that Fisher Price stuff. Then there's only Bayonetta 3 and Mortal Kombat. No great open world's, no great tech showcases. I feel like they've reached a point where they drip feed us overpriced indies and 3rd party games, like the Switch is on life support. But Metroid Prime 4 was a true star. A chance to see a fps exclusive to the Switch. A true chance to see the machine shine once more. And now? Now there's a sad wasteland of 8-bit graphics and a slew of anime stuff aimed at children and virgins...
Yeah...thanks Nintendo. Thanks you for not diacounting Bayonetta even ONCE. Thanks for letting me but the same games twice at full price becsuse you make one game every second year. Thanks for your grotesque lack of real productivity. Now we won't have another big hitter on our hands until Christmas 2019 because you have to milk Smash. Great time to be a Nintendo fan. I just hope we hear anything about bayo 3 and MP4 soon
@Nikkarin Great idea. And there's a lot of overhead. It runs 60fps on ps4 and Xbox, so maybe they could make it 720p and 30fps on switch, and gave it look decent too
@NEStalgia
And I really respect that. It's a gift getting to work with things you love. I just couldn't stop thinking about the kind of youtubers who get to reveal new games for big companies, and didn't even bother remembering their lines, or that whole anti cyber bully gang
@impurekind Or the fact that anyone can upload a video and call them selves "content creators". Do you remember the days when the service assistant was a cleaning lady? Or when the sanitation worker was a trash man?
"Content creators" 😆 it's such a funny term. What a refined and elegant way of describing someone who streams videogames. You can make tons of money. Sure. But it's not a job. It's getting paid to not work. Content creators... Hahahaha... that's rich. So these welfare check moms with 14 children...they're life supporters? Lol
I think a lot more devs should port last gen games to switch. I would LOVE to play GTA IV and that kind of thing on the go. Hell...I'd even go back to GTA 3 and Vice City if they ported it from pc...
It might have a stronger cpu and gpu. But with passive cooling only, it'll resort to thermal trotteling in a matter of seconds. Phones are designed to use all that power in very short bursts. But then again: If it's built on a 7nm process it might actually be doable, even with passive cooling. After all, the Switch innards are ageing already. It's 3 years old and built on a 20nm process
