Bandai Namco has announced that its recently revealed title SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays will be headed to Nintendo Switch this year.
The game was seemingly revealed slightly ahead of time earlier this week via a teaser trailer, although no specific platforms had been mentioned at that time. Now, though, those platforms have been fully confirmed and we have an official, six-minute trailer for you up above. If that's not enough, Bandai Namco Entertainment Southeast Asia has released the following information to get you up to speed:
"The G Generation series saw its 20th anniversary in 2018. The latest work, SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays, features characters and Mobile Suits from the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans series. The game is slated for release in 2019 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia)."
The game will have you gathering characters and Suits from various Mobile Suit Gundam series in order to train, develop, and form groups. You can create your very own team through this system and experience the stories of various Gundam series in the process. A full list of the included series has also been released:

As noted above, the game will launch on Switch (and PlayStation 4 and PC) in 2019 in Japan; a Southeast Asia release will also launch with English text. Gematsu reports that more information is expected to be announced at Taipei Game Show 2019 from 25th - 27th January via a livestream on YouTube.

Nope. Not a fan of deformed character look or whatever the PC word for "little people" is.
SD Gundam is pretty good IMO. At least, its customization game is better than SRW. But seriously, Bamco, we need to add more timelines to this. Like After War, Correct Century and Future Century.
But since you already put in the total mess that was SEED Destiny, you can add advanced century
I hope this gets a North American release. My husband is a HUGE Gundam fan. Our living room shelves are full of video game special edition memorabilia, amiibo, and LOTS OF GUNDAM models. HEHE. He would love this game, as long as there's English subtitles (which frankly he'd prefer over an English dub anyway)!
Man this reminds me how much I loved Gundam. I've watched Wing and SEED and I think maybe a bit of another one? I'm just not sure which ones are available in English, I don't have time to read subtitles anymore.
Despite loving Gundam to death, I have never liked the SD stuff because it sacrifices the hard sci-fi and darker themes that I like about the series.
@DavidMac Try Gundam 00. It is available in English and one of the best seasons to date.
@DavidMac if Iron Blooded Orphans are already dubbed then get that. One of the best alternate timeline stories to date. I'd put it up there with Gundam X (has great characterization and has one of the rare happy endings in the franchise) and Turn A (a deviation in design but a really good series IMO) but those never really reached western shores.
@DarthFoxMcCloud Your husband is part of a whole generation of westerners who grew up on Gundam, now at an age where they are very capable of spending on their fandom - an attractive (right? lookat'im!) target audience worth betting on.
If they don't end up bringing the game over in spite of this, there is a good chance the south-east asian copies will have english text included either way.

I love Gundam but all this SD stuff just isn't for me.
