Re: Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered Announced For 2023

@N00BiSH
Doesn't matter what they cut. They cut dialogue. And its worse than that as they decided instead of uncensoring the game (because they are objectively wrong), they just said "Play the old version".

Why would I spend money on a censored product? Why would I spend money on a censored product where the devs tell me to "just play the old games"?

And if you think this is fine, I don't want to hear complaints when Nintendo censors their games of any LGBT stuff for China and the Middle East. There is no middle ground.

Re: Mugen Souls Gets Uncensored 2023 Nintendo Switch Release

@steely_pete
I'm skeptical. The only reason the PC version was censored was due to them not having translated anything regarding the mini-game. Unless Eastasiasoft is translating and dubbing the mini-game, I'm skeptical.

And no, don't expect an uncensored release of Tokyo Mirage Session. As long as Nintendo of America is involved (cause that branch specifically refused to release the game uncensored), it ain't happening. Same with Fates and Xenoblade X.

Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Responds To Online Backlash In Ongoing Dispute

BloodyMurder

I love the comments.

On the article at hand: Programmers, graphic artists, musicians, people who have been working 10+ hours every day to get this game out are the real heart and soul of games. Voice actors do not work near the level necessary for me to think they are worth more than "$250 an hour". To be fair, some also do motion capture (James McCaffee ala Max Payne), but even that is nowhere near the death march of meeting a deadline.

Re: Former Playtester To Receive Settlement Payment From Nintendo Hiring Agency

I see mass layoffs in the future masked by "the recession" followed by even more outsourcing. Wasn't too long ago they closed off their California offices for totally not worker related reasons.

But don't worry, they'll pander to a special interest group (you know the ones) so the news cycle doesn't even notice and Nintendo's stock price & ESG score stay up. Just like Activision does.

Re: Rune Factory 5 Passes 500,000 Global Sales On Switch

BloodyMurder

Faulty reporting as those "sales" were just "shipments" i.e. product sent to stores. It's a disingenuous way of claiming a game sold well (which isn't surprising given this is a financial report and you can't tell the investors anything bad).

The reality is this product is going to rot in stores (because the game's bad word of mouth ensures its sell through rate will be terrible) and will no doubt be discounted in the near future.

I'd put a link to the actual financial report but I have a feeling it'd just be flagged as spam.

Re: Rumour: Sonic Team Is Working On A Brand New 2D Sonic Game

BloodyMurder

This is an OLD RUMOR. The initial rumor was that Sonic Team was developing "Sonic Mania 2" but scraped it during pre-production as they couldn't get Whitehead back (money reasons).

Sonic Team trying again isn't surprising as Sonic games have tend to launch with a 2d entry alongside a 3d entry (Sonic Lost World being the exception).

Re: Soapbox: Please, Please, Please Release Sonic Advance Trilogy On Nintendo Switch Online

BloodyMurder

@DM7Dust
If that is true then the simple answer is Sega doesn't have anyone for the job. Remember, the only reason we got the remasters of Sonic 1, 2, CD, 3, &K is due to Christian Whitehead approaching Sega with his engine and knowhow.

Unless they actually have someone/a dev who can remake the Sonic Advance trilogy, the best you'll get is Nintendo Online emulated versions (assuming the THQ Spokesman wasn't wrong). Guess we'll wait and see.

Re: Soapbox: Please, Please, Please Release Sonic Advance Trilogy On Nintendo Switch Online

BloodyMurder

@DM7Dust Do you have a source for that.

And yes, Sega can release it in Japan because THQ only had the publishing rights in western regions i.e. they paid for the release. FYI, THQ (now known as the embracer group) just bought a ton of studios and IPs for 300 million USD. They could totally cockblock Sega if they wanted to...But I doubt it. More than likely, Sega doesn't want to pay Embracer to get the rights back...Just like with the Sonic 3 music.
