Well, if you wanted to know why Xenosaga isn't getting a remaster, the disappointment here should answer that. 30fps for a turn base RPG remaster, what lunacy is this?
Actually, the game was censored in the west. Most of the romantic dialogue has been removed vs the Japanese version i.e. Nintendo Treehouse censored another game.
Could be you didn't know or are intentionally not covering this, I'll know if this comment gets deleted.
@N00BiSH They have corrected NOTHING. The first game is still censored and you are moving a goalpost. And they will hear about it until the end of time.
Shame to see the Conservative Christians in the 90's won in the end. This is exactly what they wanted.
@N00BiSH Doesn't matter what they cut. They cut dialogue. And its worse than that as they decided instead of uncensoring the game (because they are objectively wrong), they just said "Play the old version".
Why would I spend money on a censored product? Why would I spend money on a censored product where the devs tell me to "just play the old games"?
And if you think this is fine, I don't want to hear complaints when Nintendo censors their games of any LGBT stuff for China and the Middle East. There is no middle ground.
@steely_pete I'm skeptical. The only reason the PC version was censored was due to them not having translated anything regarding the mini-game. Unless Eastasiasoft is translating and dubbing the mini-game, I'm skeptical.
And no, don't expect an uncensored release of Tokyo Mirage Session. As long as Nintendo of America is involved (cause that branch specifically refused to release the game uncensored), it ain't happening. Same with Fates and Xenoblade X.
On the article at hand: Programmers, graphic artists, musicians, people who have been working 10+ hours every day to get this game out are the real heart and soul of games. Voice actors do not work near the level necessary for me to think they are worth more than "$250 an hour". To be fair, some also do motion capture (James McCaffee ala Max Payne), but even that is nowhere near the death march of meeting a deadline.
I see mass layoffs in the future masked by "the recession" followed by even more outsourcing. Wasn't too long ago they closed off their California offices for totally not worker related reasons.
But don't worry, they'll pander to a special interest group (you know the ones) so the news cycle doesn't even notice and Nintendo's stock price & ESG score stay up. Just like Activision does.
A worthless blade that I'll never use. And swimsuits that should be part of the base game (Like they were in 1 & X). Xenoblade 3 continues to disappoint with just how lacking it is.
Faulty reporting as those "sales" were just "shipments" i.e. product sent to stores. It's a disingenuous way of claiming a game sold well (which isn't surprising given this is a financial report and you can't tell the investors anything bad).
The reality is this product is going to rot in stores (because the game's bad word of mouth ensures its sell through rate will be terrible) and will no doubt be discounted in the near future.
I'd put a link to the actual financial report but I have a feeling it'd just be flagged as spam.
Well yeah. Don't you remember the Adpocalypse from those Spiderman and Elsa videos? Do what some other creators have done and put a disclaimer at the beginning of the video saying "Not for Kids".
This is an OLD RUMOR. The initial rumor was that Sonic Team was developing "Sonic Mania 2" but scraped it during pre-production as they couldn't get Whitehead back (money reasons).
Sonic Team trying again isn't surprising as Sonic games have tend to launch with a 2d entry alongside a 3d entry (Sonic Lost World being the exception).
@DM7Dust If that is true then the simple answer is Sega doesn't have anyone for the job. Remember, the only reason we got the remasters of Sonic 1, 2, CD, 3, &K is due to Christian Whitehead approaching Sega with his engine and knowhow.
Unless they actually have someone/a dev who can remake the Sonic Advance trilogy, the best you'll get is Nintendo Online emulated versions (assuming the THQ Spokesman wasn't wrong). Guess we'll wait and see.
And yes, Sega can release it in Japan because THQ only had the publishing rights in western regions i.e. they paid for the release. FYI, THQ (now known as the embracer group) just bought a ton of studios and IPs for 300 million USD. They could totally cockblock Sega if they wanted to...But I doubt it. More than likely, Sega doesn't want to pay Embracer to get the rights back...Just like with the Sonic 3 music.
Right but will the "Deep cleavage" be patched out later like another game that came out recently?
Fanservice outfits are nothing new to Xenoblade (or Xenosaga for that matter). It only became an issue due to all the whining and crying done over Xenoblade 2.
On the other end, still salty about Xenoblade X and Tokyo Mirage Sessions getting censored so NoA getting publicly smeared for treating their workers like garbage is pure schadenfreude.
Now let's see what else Nintendo tries to do to cover up this bad press.
@Rykdrew No. They need to fix the physics of Crash 1 on the Nsane Trilogy. This was documented ever sense release (youtube it) and complained about which lead to the infamous "git gud" article.
@Fizza Previous games made a distinction between "Friendship Points" and "Love Points". I don't think you've ever played these games if you don't know that.

Moment of truth. Time to see if this game really is uncensored. I have faith Eastasiasoft. Don't let me down.

Not gonna happen because Sega gave the publishing rights to the now defunct THQ in western territories. Enjoy the legal quagmire.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Will Reveal Some Skin, Unsurprisingly
@TheMnassri
It was cleavage, and the game is the Pocky and Rocky Reshrined. The Japanese version is uncensored. The Western version is not.
Lines up with what I've heard from Japanese boards about them wanting to bring back "region locking" due to all the western censorship nonsense.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Will Reveal Some Skin, Unsurprisingly
@RiasGremory
Actually, there were several bits of censorship, not just Lin (who is a robot so it didn't matter anyway).
But it doesn't matter cause censorship is ALWAYS BAD and Monolith needed to win back its audience after that failure.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Will Reveal Some Skin, Unsurprisingly
@Teksetter
After X got hit with the censorship stick, they had to win back the audience somehow.

It won't. Much like other games, there will be an Asian version and a Western version.

Good thing Xenoblade 3's release date announcement covered for this.
Also wonder if this has anything to do with the closing of the California office.

This lines up with the rumors that there was a falling out with Whitehead over pay. At least we know the remaster is in good hands.
Re: Talking Point: With BOTW2 Slipping, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Launching Early Is Fantastic News
The general recycling of content makes me wary. That's ignoring other obvious issues at play.
Re: Talking Point: Can It Really Be 10 Years Since Fire Emblem: Awakening Saved The Series?
Yes, if you add Waifus, it will save your franchise.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Gets A Release Date, And It's Sooner Than You Think
Not looking too hot. At least the multiple characters will be interesting but other than that, not so good.
Re: Review: Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars - Satisfying Fan Service That's A Bit Bare

Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Tops 1 Million Sales Worldwide
@AndyC_MK111 Very bad actually but let's see how well you like the game if it ends up getting ported to a non-nintendo console.
FYI, Sega fluffs its investor stuff. See "Sonic Forces sold Strongly".
Re: Review: Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars - Satisfying Fan Service That's A Bit Bare
@Dualmask Sony censorship. If it launches on a sony platform, it was censored/neutered in development. See Kandagawa Jet Girls.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Tops 1 Million Sales Worldwide
So the sales were as bad as I heard if they are only now hitting 1m. Oh well, hopefully they make back their money.

Re: Vicarious Visions Is Seemingly No More After It Merges With Blizzard Entertainment

No. They need to fix the physics of Crash 1 on the Nsane Trilogy. This was documented ever sense release (youtube it) and complained about which lead to the infamous "git gud" article.
https://blog.activision.com/ru/crash-bandicoot/archives/go-ahead-and-jump
They wasted time typing that instead of fixing the physics. They can rot in the Blizzard mines.
Re: Vicarious Visions Is Seemingly No More After It Merges With Blizzard Entertainment
@Rykdrew
I don't believe you. Either way, it doesn't matter as the physics in Crash 1 are still borked.

@kobashi100 That was Toys for Bob NOT Vicarious Visions.
